GDT - Devils @ FLAMES - Saturday 5 November 2022

Heartbreaker

Recommended Posts

Remember, remember, the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and the Parliament
Three score barrels of powder below
Poor old England to overthrow
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holler boys, holler boys, let the bells ring
Holler boys, holler boys
God save the King!

Terrible read by Mackey on the first goal.

Kadri taking nobody on the second goal.

Sutter cannot be happy with the defensive play to start the season.

Was it Kadri or Mangiapne?

It looked like they were switching man coverage and neither knew who was covering.

He's a big meanie.

All I can say to the Flames F on in close chances....

Hit. The. Net.

Dube wide open, it can't go over the net.

May have been defected, but it didn't look like it.

Dube is showing shades of Bennett. Can’t buy a goal. And this is the guy everyone says has wicked shooting in practice.

It’s definitely not Mackey’s night, but I’m noticing more then that.  Last year our defensive pairs complimented each other in their play and their support.  Tanev covered Kylington’s  mistakes; Andersson, the same with Hanifin; so on and so forth.

This year, the pairs are disjointed and at times mid-paired so they don’t support strengths and/weaknesses.
This team needs to gel but quickly in order to compete against faster more agile teams like NJ.
