First reaction. That is a boatload of talent in one deal. Huberdeau is a top line talent and Waegner Is the puck rushing  Dman they need.

but 2 pending UFAs both over 27 and both looking for big deals?

I know it was a tough situation and this is a lot of talent but this is a disappointing direction to see quite honestly.

I am excited by the return and also slightly confused.

I mean Huberdeau and Weegar are on the last year of their deals, Schwindt is a B prospect. So if they don’t sign these guys or turn around and trade them, this trade could be a disaster.

I’m confused. I’m so confused. I’ll reserve judgement until tomorrow.

You me both.

I guess we are going for it more than before.

A little disconcerting we get older in one week.

This is good for 5 years.

We get the tied for 2nd scorer in the NHL.

I watch Huberdeau a lot

He is absolutely an elite playmaker and offensive talent.

Regardless of how I feel about chucky as a player and the situation treliving was put in, to get a player of huberdeaus caliber in a trade is a solid deal.

Time will tell how this shakes out but all things considered. Treliving did good imo

The thing is though, that we could probably flip Huberdeau for a pretty big return, especially because of his cap hit.

Same with Weegar.

I am perplexed.

This seems likeeither a long range plan to do something else.

Or a long term plan to be a contender.

What better way to soften the blow of losing two 100 point players than receiving one in return?
