The decision by two fired coaches to use him where they did can't really be blamed on BT can it?

I'm not usually a fan of firing the coach, I must admit in this case they take a huge brunt of blame.

But....with that said:

1.  BT hired the coaches

2.  BT decided to stack us with LHS forwards.    Someone had to go into the doghouse.  And it wasn't going to be Gaudreau of Tkachuck.   He math-willed this.

3.  To your points below, he could have been traded much much earlier.  Quite honestly, before the problems even started to show, we could have shed  a LW.    We've needed to shed a LW or two since Tkachuk made pro.  And we still do, with the emergence of Mangiapane, to some extent Dube.  Pelletier waiting in wings.

A proven playoff performer not used in an effective position?

Choose to run Backlund as the 2C instead of spending some games on Bennett there?

Anyway, you are right, Bennett played like a baby after he was demoted.

We hear that happen every year with players.

BT probably hung onto him long enough to see if Sutter would turn him around, hoping for a miracle or upping his trade value.

The trade served two purposes.

It removed his negativity from the room.

It moved him east where he would hurt us less.

ANA would have been the worse case scenario, and that was even assuming that they had interest in the COVID year TDL (2020).

Agreed with all this.   I can't blame BT for the event center though.  I mean,  I'm trying.  workng hard on it.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Dube and Bennett were drafted as C's, were they not?

You try to draft BPA, not just positionally.

Tkachuk was BPA.  If Dubois had have been available, would we change that?  Who knows.

Was Mangiapane a known NHL player at that time?  Nope.

Ideally, you use excess players to get ones you need.

Wolf is excess, with Marky and Vladar on board.

But you don't trade him now.

Zary is excess now, but you don't trade one of the few C's we have.

Pelletier is potentially a 10 year pro in a year or so.

Do we really have an excess of LW?

We have Lucic and who as depth on LW right now.

Ruzicka is not really a LW.

We do lol.

We have too many LW.  But I won't rant about it, not now.

I wonder if Karl Henriksson is the bizaro Henrik Karlsson

He's exactly like Henrik Karlsson in the polar opposite.lol

5 dmen in the top 10, 3 are Detroit's. That's terrifying if you don't like the Wings. They could have 4 ELC's in their top 6 next year. That is mind-boggling if it happens.

Montreal signed Emil to an ELC.

He will also report to Laval on a PTO this month.

For some reason, I never expected to see him in NA for at least another year.

7 goals in 11 games.   Perhaps a bit weird that we didn't sign him.   Hoping we don't have to add him to our incredibly long and growing list of players we've given away.

Didn't sign him?  You mean we don't use him in a trade?  Perhaps we should have traded Pelletier over him; that's the better question.

Sorry my bad.   Got confused.

But yeah.   Or just stopped making ourselves older in every trade.
