  1. Bumping a Flames thread while we're getting buried in SPAM. Love.
  2. Eddie the Eagle was a bit of a mess, and he was featured in episode in Episode 304 of Crime in Sports. Here it is on Spotify, but it's available wherever you get your podcasts. Love.
  3. Well, I mean, it's not multi-sport (although, Sean Monahan, I'm told, is an exceptional lacrosse player), but Brent Burns was a right winger until he met Jacques Lemaire in his first pro season with the Minnesota Wild. Love.
  4. I do, and unpopular opinion, I think he should be captain. Yeah, I see you, Rasmus, and you Mikael. Love.
  5. That's yet to be determined, and perhaps, a bit optimistic. More likely that he traded Toffoli for younger potential. Love.
  6. Yeah, I was thinking that, too. Flip phones, disposable cameras, a tramp stamp... you could flash your teets without ending up all over social media... gosh, that was a long time ago. Oh, the mammaries. Love.
  7. Another thing that makes it tricky is the fact that there are other free agents around the league that are, perhaps, more desirable than ours. I bring this up because it has occurred at the trade deadline in years past where a big name on the market holds everything up until the last minute. Once the big domino falls, there's not enough time to move the others. I don't know if that's something that I'm overthinking, but if you take a look at the 2024 class, which includes players like Auston Matthews, Steven Stamkos, Sebastian Aho, William Nylander, Sam Reinhart, and Jonathan Marchessault - how far down the list is Mikael Backlund? I realize a lot of those players aren't going anywhere - but it's not unheard of that a player who is considered Tier 2 gets left at the altar because everyone was in on someone, and didn't have time to circle back. Love.
  8. Yeah, but who is going to be the new coach?! The text discusses various aspects of outdoor advertising, including advertising steles, pylons, and billboards. It mentions height variations and price ranges for these advertising mediums. The previous version of the text is referred to in some sections. The text suggests that illuminated lightboxes can be an affordable and effective advertising solution to enhance brand recognition. The desire for inexpensive yet impactful signage is expressed, seeking recommendations. Different types of outdoor advertising are mentioned, including outdoor video advertising, which is highlighted for its higher impact despite potentially reaching a smaller audience. The text emphasizes that billboard advertising has become a regular part of urban life but may not stand out as much. There are references to specific laws and regulations related to advertising. However, the summary does not provide the details of these references. Please note that the original text may contain more information and specific details about each topic. Love.
  9. Here is the translation of the text you provided: "The main goal of outdoor advertising is to attract the attention of potential buyers. With its help, it is possible to increase company recognition, boost sales, initiate word-of-mouth marketing, and expand the target audience. To achieve desired results, it is important to clearly define objectives, select suitable advertising mediums, plan the visual presentation of the message, and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for measuring effectiveness. Hotels are mentioned, and there is a reference to "allviveski" on the provided website. The text mentions a "panel-bracket" and "roll-up" as advertising tools. Package and point placement are mentioned, as well as shooting and placement of video footage, and the use of a scrolling ticker. On the counter, advertising information is displayed, such as the brand name and logo, while product samples and brochures are placed on the countertop. Promoters stand nearby, inviting customers to evaluate the products. This way, people become familiar not only with the advertisement but also with the actual product." Please note that the text contains references to specific websites that may provide more detailed information on the mentioned topics. Love.
  10. Here is a summary of the main points: Panels can function as signs and can include information about the company, its products, and promotions. They can have backlighting or be without it. Roller displays (scrollers) are mentioned, and the website offers free services such as layout design, photo binding, and 3D visualization for printing posters. The company mentioned has been operating for 15 years and has extensive experience with different advertising structures, including advertising stands. One disadvantage mentioned is the inability to retarget customers. If a potential customer sees an advertisement but does not make a purchase, it's challenging to specifically reach them with a compelling offer. However, careful planning of the advertising strategy, proper selection of communication channels, and reaching the target audience can lead to desired results. The advantages of outdoor advertising mentioned include its wide coverage, ability to attract attention, complementation of other types of advertising, elevation of trust levels in the company, constant visibility since users cannot disable or close outdoor advertising, and high frequency of display. Please note that the text contains references to specific websites that may provide more detailed information on the mentioned topics. Love.
  11. Today Steinberg and Gilbertson were discussing that from the Doug Lacey's Basement Systems Downtown Studio™️, and they brought up some good points. The Flames have absolutely no depth on right wing, especially after having traded Tyler Toffoli They are going to give him every opportunity to make the team out of camp He brings an offensive punch that the Flames have severely lacked It is an exciting proposition, but it's a lot of pressure to put on the kid I don't know... it'll be interesting to see how he does in Penticton, and at the main camp. There's definitely a spot for him, but the general consensus for the last season is that he's at least a couple years away. Still, I think we'll see him. Love.
  12. Nah, I think it's got more to do with Mitch Love - who likely did want to stay, albeit in a different role. Love.
  13. Ha ha ha! Total click bait! You won't even BELIEVE who was number 35! Love.
  14. Nah, it's way better to trade for them. I mean, they drafted Adam Fox, and look what happened. Lesson learned. NEVER TAKE RHS DEFENSEMEN! THEY ALWAYS LEAVE! Love.
  15. There's some weirdness there. It's almost like they don't want to play in Arizona. Which is too bad*. Love. * unpopular opinion
  16. This draft making anyone else feel really old? Like, we all talk about 2004 like it happened recently... these effin' kids weren't even born yet! Love.
  17. Pretty cheeky of the Blues to move a few players ahead of the deadline there. Bet they're choked they're not picking 16th, though. Love.
  18. That trade sucks so much, and for all the pain that we've endured, I still think that's a bullet in the chamber that we're gonna eat. Nazem Kadri is a fine player, but one year of Monohan, even in a significantly reduced role, was the better option every single day. Love.
  19. Might even be a spot for Matthew Phillips... on like, the top line! Love.
  20. To be fair, I doubt that Brossoit will be in the HoF. And they didn't give him up for nothing... that trade included Roman Horak, and brought back Ladislav Smid, and Olivier Roy. I know that sounds underwhelming, but they did pick up Edmonton's best defenceman in that trade ensuring that the inept Oilers continued to fail for a couple of years. In fact, conspiracy theorists unite - that trade could have led directly to Edmonton drafting McDavid. Damn you, Feaster! Love.
  21. I believe he started the Connor McDavid Watch thread in around 2013, and possibly the Ryan Nugent Hopkins thread (although, I'm less certain of the title of that one) circa 2010. JJ has always been an advocate of blowing it up... he probably started that thread, too. Love.
  22. It's sort of like the girl in that song... I "was underwhelmed if that's a word. I know it's not 'cause I looked it up. It's one of those skills that I learned in my school." That said, there are some pretty smart hockey people who have a lot more information that I do behind this decision. I trust they know better than me. Still, of the internal candidates, I would have gone with Mitch Love. Love.
  23. And to think, he was supposed to go to Edmonton. Instead, landed in Columbus, but wasn't like, "Wow." Love.
  24. Yesterday, Steinberg and Vickers were kvetching about that on Sportsdrive brought to you by Calgary Lock & Safe - ask how a restricted key system can keep your business safe even through employee turnover, visit calgary-lock-and-safe-dot-com. It was based on a comment by Elliotte Friedman on 32-thoughts. Personally, I'm not opposed to moving Markstrom. On the Sportsdrive, they were concerned about the value that you'd get back because he's coming off of a down season. I don't know, Man... I agree with that in theory, but at the same time, the cost of acquisition was only a contract. Not that it should come into play in this case, really, but I think you could do okay if there's a market for him. The other issue is that he has a full no-move. So, it only happens if the Flames initiate a potentially awkward conversation, or if Jacob wants out. Love.
  25. Right, but what's Edwards saying? Love.
