So, Sutter says that the goaltending has been streaky this year. Does he mean both (which it seems like) or Markstrom. Vladar may have a few games this season where he let in 4 or more (3 in total), but I wouldn't call it streaky.

Sometimes you just need to get away from the environment. Maybe the location is playing into it. I'm not worried about a player that lacks defensive responsibility. We supposedly have that in spades. We lack players with that ripper shot. Who do we have that can hit a target in the top corner of the net? Maybe Lindholm and Toffoli? Dube? Need more than that. Play him with Backlund if you worry about his defense. When Mangiapane is sucking, we have nobody on that line that can hit the net.

I think he loves to make the stretch passes which benefits McD. McD can just circle around in the N zone waiting for a pass. I think he would be frustrated always just giving it to McD in the D zone.

You think Stevie would have any appetite to retain salary to make the trade? Not many teams will take a flier on him at that price. It's the remains of this year and next. $5.75M actual next year.

Lucic's actual salary is just $1M now. The rest of his money this year was paid in the summer. I get your point though. Pelletier needs to have more than just him moving the right direction. Last night the line did squat as a line. Passes into feet. We have two lines going and two that have up and down nights.

The battle in his game is strong.... But I feel sometimes like I am watching Mike Smith out there. Fighting the play instead of positioning for it. I would love to see Wolf play a game in the NHL to see if his style works.

Not likely to happen here regardless of the stats, he will get 50 games easy this year. He's at 38 already and basically 500. Well not even that. We have 35 points in his 36 starts. Vladar has 4 losses in the 18 games he started. Took another loss against Buffalo after replacing JM. And added a OTL against CHI. It's a team game. We kept OTT to nothing other than the last 3 minutes of 6-5 and 3-3 in OT. Somehow we collapsed on 3 shots at 6-5 and 2 shots at 3-3. Anyway, I will get off the goalie talk. I'm sure the team is fed up with losing. No captain isn't helping. Oh right, forgot about all the cup rings.

I always hated the combo of Husso and STL. Now I am just hating to see Husso. We play the Wings the night after they face the Coilers, so I imagine Husso gets the start there. Wonderful, another backup to beat us. Teams should always start their unknown backups and guys looking for their 1st NHL goal. We will help them out, even provide the white tape to wrap around the puck.

It's the exact same thing they did before. Have a good to great PP, add an offense-only D-man. Don't hear much about Ceci being a stud now. And you don't hear about how great an add Kulak was. The only thing Karlsson adds is name recognition. A true #1 when he was on other teams. Gives a nod to the guys that keep complaining the GM is hording 1st rounders and not spending on the now. They are already paying #1 money to Nurse. For what that team already has, they certainly don't look like a team with a guy leading the league with 97 points already. 42 goals, 97 points and he is a plus 4. Holy crap.

It's tough just keeping pace with COL and MIN. We are 4 back of EDM and SEA, which is probably a target than the battle for the 2nd WC spot. SEA did us a favor by sucking the last 10 games (9 points), but then again we also sucked (10 points). The next 7 games include NYR, COL, VGK and BOS. Oh joy. After the month end, we play TOR, MIN (x2), and DAL. 2 of those games are WC fights with MIN. I have a little confidence that we can do well in all of the games against playoff teams. Whether those turn into 2 pointers or singles remains to be seen. 8 games before the TDL. Has to be at least a .750 run. Otherwise we are not keeping pace or even passing anyone. So, we can only afford to lose to 2 of NY, BOS and TOR. Going on a run. The next 4 are winnable. We play well against NY. The other 3 are non-playoff teams. I know Treliving is desperate to make a change to this team, but he needs to see 4 games in a row.

The coach doesn't seem concerned. That's part of the problem. If the team is all about competition, then let him win the starter role back. One good game out of a handful does not a starter make. We are not even sure Vladar is part of the solution. When he gets a win, he's lucky to get the next start.

With the goalie pulled, the SENS take 3 shot on net, 2 of which are goals. In OT, the SENS take 2 shots, one was the GWG. It doesn't matter if you make 19 saves on 20 shots with 2 minutes left. The next 5 shots had 3 goals in it. What's killing us is Markstrom hasn't won 2 in a row since December 23rd. It's halfway through February! Anyway, it's a team game. Sutter suggested we dominated for 55 minutes and ran out of gas. Yet, he's the guy that put out the same line on both goals in the 3rd. Maybe use a timeout if your players are gassed. Or use Backlund?

The Sutter 3's are questionable at best. I thought it interesting that Hubey was out with Weegar and Pelts on the GWG. It wasn't a bad move, just didn't end well. Weegar had most of Stutzle on the play, but JM was weak on the strong side coverage. Is it strong side? Reminded me too much of Draisaitl or Hyman last playoffs. Good showing by JM or not, 1-3-2 in the last 6 starts....

I don't get why Sutter used the exact same line that just gor scorwd on.
