Big surprise, Francis says Sutter the only one that doesn't know Vladar is the better goalie that should start. An actual surprise is that Sarge says that Markstrom lost the net, they need to just go Vladar for now.

I tried to watch DET last night. They were good against EDM. Just the usual PP's that got EDM back in it. Gave up and only went back to see the end of OT and SO. Can't stand the Oilers broadcast team. One guy sounds like he is having a painful crap when Oilers get a chance.

Ras due back tonight, so we have 2 extra D now. Gilbert has to go through waivers again. Not sure there is a need to carry 8D. Maybe scratch Lucic and play Gilbert as an extra D or in Lucic's spot. Heck, scratch Lucic and Lewis and insert Ruzicka and Gilbert.

I didn't follow the player, so I didn't know that. The Bert situation was just weird. How do you manage that playing in Canada fairly often? Yeah I know, you can't really. So, is the player toxic? If so, I would have no interest in the player.

Maybe Sutter sees something I am not, but I'm not seeing a lot about the lineup that gives me hope of going on a run. Top line with Dube is good some nights and really good others. The 2nd line has good shifts. The 3rd line is defensively sound but isn't scoring as much as having a 30g guy should. 4th line just chews up time. AT worst they are outmatched, at best they spend time in the O-zone wearing down the D. Yes, you can blame some of that in the D not moving the puck efficiently, but I'm not seeing much chemistry or UMPH in anything we throw out there. A bad shift by Ruzicka and he gets the boot off the lines, but I'm not sure what you expect with that present 4th line. It's not scoring. It's not defending. IMHO, one of the worst lines in the league on most nights. When we lose one like the game against OTT, Sutter says we were dominant and the guys were gassed. When we lose to DET, he says we were in it but didn't get a timely goal. It's a always looking for the next goal game. If it's not working most nights, why are we staying exactly the same.

Also, I hate the ICE Zone in EDM. It's still trashy, so no better. I liked what they did in Glendale AZ, though there isn't space CGY is looking at that would be similar.

I don't mean in general, I mean specific to the player. It may be coincidence, but perhaps his struggles started after the trade.

Wolf was awesome last year with his stats. 47 games 34-9-4 2.35 GAA and .924 No shutouts until the playoffs. He's on the cusp of being an NHL goalie. not on the back 9 of an NHL career.

So, the Oilers are officially circumventing the cap now. Yamamoto cleared to play but won't until they can make a move to cleat the cap space. They actually seem to be thinking of waiving Puljujarvi, though that is crazy. Call 30 teams in the league and get the best you can. Even if it's a loss, it's still better tahn a complete failure. Oh, and the NHL is turning a blind eye to the cap?
