  1. Looks like the Holland solution is to play 11F and 6D. That sounds familiar. What I laugh about is that some analysts refer to the Oilers as contenders. Lebrin - Oilers have the least cap flexibility of any Stanley Cup contenders. They are contenders? Currently in the 1st WC spot. Barely a 500 home record. Swept by the Avs last year. Swept by the Jets the year before. Lost to the Hawks in the play-in round the year before. Oh well, beating us last year made them a contender. LOL
  2. Not sure what to make of the last two games. Last night, we dominated but still only got 3 in total, one being a 4-3 PP in OT. Let's hope you score on that type of chance. Markstrom had a strong game, held the fort as best he could. Once they got one in, you knew the 2nd was coming. But, enough quality saves to prevent NY from going ahead in the 3rd. The PP struggled again. The PK was not flawless again. 6 PP goals again in 6 games, IIRC. I loved the Mangiapane goal and the tic tac goal by the Hubey line. Last change and we still are putting Lucic out there with 3 minutes or less and the game on the line. There were enough miscues by the Rags to allow CGY to take the game. Couple of posts and an open net missed wide. Sutter very much took out the frustration of Lindholm not being available by underplaying the top line. It wasn't a great or terrible game by Ruzicka but the top line didn't get beat for chances. A team win, and some of the best paid players made a difference. I don't know if that gives me any more faith that we will go on a run. We haven't had many winning streaks. Do we see two good games in a row from Markstrom?
  3. The link appears to be stable access, other than (possibly) my own issues connecting. I only use the Flames site link if I get messages using the link.
  4. I have been using the link you have hyperlinked since the change last year. When I get the odd error about 404 or Offline, I use the link through the link on the Flames site. It may just be a temporary issue.
  5. I tried to swap Backlund in and Thomas out. Too late by a minute. Backlund kills it.
  6. Well the lack of calls in OT are incredible. After a missed call Dube gets a high stick
  7. Sutter is killing me with the line changes. 4th line on for 3 shifts in the last 3 minutes, including the last 30 seconds. Time again for the single. Prove me wrong.
  8. Shorten the bench please. We don't have room for any 4th line play.
  9. Coleman puts in the goal on his own. Like the OT losing goal against the same team. Marky down and out and we blow it.
  10. JFC, shorten the bench already. Puck possession and we don't even move the puck a foot before giving it away.
  11. Looking to get a shot on his own net? Facing the wrong way, ignoring his man. This game has the feeling of other 1 goal leads. Make it count on the PP.
  12. No complaints, but a little less pressure after the early goals. The Lewis penalty was a joke, the goalie fell on his own. Hubey line about the best one so far, which is a nice change. You know that the Rgs will be coming early. Noticed that the lines were messed up in the last couple of minutes, with Lewis and Lucic replacing Pelts and Ruzie. Bit sure, but perhaps it was to prevent any dirty shots at the end of a frustrating period for the Rags.
  13. I really like the Mange goal. Was tied up and managed to hang on and still get the shot away. The 2nd goal was another rush with good passing (for a change).
  14. Updated lines with Lindholm scratched: #Flames tonight vs. New York: Pelletier-Kadri-Huberdeau Dube-Ruzicka-Toffoli Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman Lucic-Lewis-Ritchie Hanifin-Andersson Weegar-Tanev Zadorov-Stone Markstrom
  15. We shall see what the lines are tonight. Based on the last skate, most like the same lineup as against DET. Lindholm is questionable, awaiting the birth of his baby. Ruzicka skated in his place in skate, so he will be top line if Lindholm out. Fans will be holding their breat on the first 5 shots of the game. Even though recent results for Vladar no better, Markstrom has let in the first goal on first 2-5 shots is insane. Whatever. Score some goals and worry less about the perfect goalie start.
  16. For sure. If it's just him, I totally ignore..... Like the following: Eric Francis @EricFrancis · 4h Vladar just broke his stick across the post and left the ice briefly out of frustration. These Flames goalies are leading the league in one stat - broken lumber. Frustration extremely evident in Calgary these days, & last night’s game, followed by Walsh’s tweet, escalated things. Dan Vladar @danvladar Replying to @EricFrancis Forgot to mention I Came back in 5 sec later bcs I forgot to bring 2nd one. My bad. Goalies break their sticks because we care…by the way guys love it and dont worry I’ll put money on a board for it 1:13 PM · Feb 17, 2023·
  17. I'm not sure what the fear is to use different looks. Hubey-Lindholm-Dube if you like or swap sides. Hubey-Lindholm-Toffoli Pelletier-Kadri-Toffoli Pelletier-Kadri-Dube Ideally you don't want to mess up one line just to fix another. But not every night your top line is 100% working. I'm sure there are options. Anyway, not the place to come up with lines. Just saying.
  18. So, Walsh's second statement addresses the negativity. But I have to ask what he is referring to with the insanity thing. Is it the lines, the PP or the use of 4th line or lines in general? The 4th isn't really getting more than 10 minutes. But they are used with no rhyme or reason. Starting against Larkin? After successive shifts of pressure against? Anyway, enough about that. Sutter looked to have changed the Weegar-Tanev pairing to Weegar-Ras and Hanifin-Tanev. Ritchie is out, Ruzicka in. Markstrom looks to be in the starter net and for some reason Vladar smashed his goal stick. These guys need to get this stuff out of their heads.
