Sutter has to be smarter with the first shift after a PP ends. Throwing out Lucic is not the smartest thing to do. It almost completely backfired, with Vladar making a toe save after it popped out from behind the net. No Flame anywhere close.

Well, Kylington was a top 20 faller, so he was well known. I don't question that pick. Nor Ras, who would have stood out, especially if they were scouting Mangiapane. Regarding the other picls from those years. Yes, they were late one. But whether we missed out due to the picks is tough to call.

Most of our good picks have been guys already in NA. Andersson and Mange were on Barrie.

I'm not that impressed with our Euro scouts. Have they hit on anything yet? Stromgren is the closest we have to a high level one, maybe Ronni. Neither is impressing. Conundrumed can comment on the quality of scouting in NA. I think we seem to do better with late picks. The top 3 rounds are meh at times. No, I don't think we have the right coach. I don't really care what he says about 10 over or 10 below. And his comments continue to sound dumb. Pelletier, after a GWG and assist, Sutter said that's what he needs to do. That's why he's getting the minutes, to score. Really? He hadn't scored in 7 games before his first point.

Well, we have had success against VAN, ANA and SJS, but not against NAS, CHI, WPG.

If the decision is to place the blame for the season on the GM, then it's a bad one. Sure you can point to the contracts given out or the UFA signings, but those are small parts of the team.

Some context around games in Vegas: Flames are 0-7 lifetime in Vegas, outscored 30-8 with a 6.7% PP and 75% PK. This is reminding me too much of the years of struggles in Anaheim. I suppose that they are more likely to win because they are very much the underdog. All time 0-7, 2nd game of a B2B set. Trap game for Vegas.

One thing I am liking is the fact that Huberdeau and Pelletier have a bod between them. Young potential star and vet star. They seem to have real chemistry on the ice as well. Just a shame that Kadri is the one picked to be their C. I like Kadri, but don't think he matches up with two cerebral players. Kadri is more of a pass to me I shoot or I pass to you and you shoot player. While it would be tough to break up the top line, I would like to see if Kadri with Dube and Toffoli could be a thing. Kadri would certainly get more assists that way. Pelletier-Lindholm-Huberdeau Dube-Kadri-Toffoli Mange-Backs-Coleman Ruzicka-Lewis-Duehr Essentially you are making minor changes to the lineup. Swapping C's between 1st and 2nd lines. Swapping Lucic with Ruzicka. Lucic is only ever effective in one zone, and that's if the other two are hard on the forecheck. Ruzicka adds speed and D zone awareness. He hasn't looked good when Lucic is on his line. His best games were with Lindholm or Backlund (very limited IIRC). But Lucic only ever has a good game every 5-6 games at most.

Dube has the best shooting % on the team. Please pass it to him more and please take more shots.
