  1. I'm not going to comment. I'm not going to comment. I'm not going to comment.
  2. Lets hope the 4th string backup doesn't out goalie us. The SENS are a sneaky good team at times and they lost two good players on the weekend.
  3. Just have to ignore that Erika is typing that she is alone. Otherwise the feed is good. LOL
  4. I would argue that he would have more value in the summer. The length of his contract makes it a big ask at TDL. Teams just can;t make those kind of trades at TDL. At least IMHO
  5. That is just crazy. Barrie is a cap dump. Pooly is a player they need to get rid of that has about a 4th rounder value on the market. Booch is a fave of McD's. He is the cheaper, no defense version of Larlsson. Bougault is a Phillips level production in the AHL, well actually less. That covers about $8M of the salary they want to trade away. Add at least a 2nd to retain anything, but more like another 1st for 4 years of retained salary.
  6. I didn't realize it was one of the games on that undisclosed former soviet streaming service, LOL. If I can manage to do two things at once, I may tune it in. May the stream be with you.
  7. Beanpot Final tonight, with Harvard playing Northeaster. Carried on TSN+ so no real coverage for the average Joe.
  8. Just doing my due diligence here, sorry that's it a little off topic. Pelletier got rewarded for strong play after his first 2 games. Started on the 4th line and was obvious he was too good for that. 7 games before he collects his first NHL point, after playing the last 3 or so at 13 minutes +, and some PP time. Contrast to Phillips. Two games at 10 minutes or less in the top nine. Was there enough to even consider trying him for a longer stint. Took a questionable penalty. One chance that resulted in a shot on goal. Timing may have been everything. Lucic benched, Phillips and Zohorna recalled. Losing games at the time.
  9. You are correct sir. I was thinking of Zetter, but knew it wasn't him.
  10. Well, winning two in a row would be the first thing to do. Really just saying that we are not out, even considering our poor recent showing.
  11. Pelletier seems to have a good understanding of avoiding being left vulnerable. Gaudreau was good at avoiding contact for the most part. Used escape velocity and seeing the ice. He did get nailed by a DET player some years ago, but wasn't often hit. I would expect that one of the 5 guys on the ice would stick up for him after a dirty shot.
  12. The Pacific is so weird. Currently out of the playoffs, tied with Minny but less RW's. 6 points (as of this moment) out of 1st. As bad as a season we have had, a winning streak puts us in the top 3.
  13. The height difference is not anywhere close to that pic. The body shape is though. Anyway, it funny that we don't even have a recent thread about the kid. Top prospect and all. Kid earned his looks in the top 6. That pass from Kadri was pretty smart. Not on the stick until Pelts had beat the other player. More of that please. That was a NHL shot to finish. Be more selfish, the goals will come. Two games where Pelletier has a partial breakaway. Previous version was end of a shift so no afterburner. Both were scoring chances.
  14. Look at the trade thread and the Blow it up one. Fans are tired of losing. The goals against in game threads are blamed on the goalie. It's more than one thing leading up to the goals, but the last line of defense plays a part. And if that part looks like a leaky glove or too many goals on too few shots, fans are going to focus on it. That just brings back painful memeories of the Oilers series. I could care less what Francis says about it. The only two goals against were on the first 3 shots. perfect shots or not. Yesterday was a good step in showing that the game isn't in his head. After the first two goals he didn't face much for two periods but wasn't rattled when the shots started coming. Markstrom down and out is 100% compete and better to watch than deep in the net leaving massive holes. Vladar is less likely to show that, since he is technical and moves with the angles. Better or worse, who knows. He has holes the book hasn't shown. Anyway, the point is to get the W's. Who is likely to give you the best chance based on the game at hand. Recency bias has to creep into that decision making process. Given the problems we see with the team, which one can backstop them the best. The Flames did something they hadn't done since the CHI game. Get in a hole then lock it down and make a comeback. Is the hole concerning or the play afterwards more indicative of just a bad start that needs support from the goal scorers.
  15. No different than the trashing Weegar, Huberdeau and Kadri get for trying to play a certain way. Markstrom is struggling this year. Using one game to justify or contradict is pointless. Whether Valdar is better or not, he is winning more lately with fewer goals against.
  16. Ignore the previous year record then. One goalie is 10-1-3 in his last 14, one being in relief. One goalie is 6-5-2 and a no decision in his last 14 starts. It a quandty, though, since you like to get a guy going. But we shouldn't be making decision on trying to get a starter's confidence back.
  17. This part 100%. While the top line may or may not have been playing Sutter hockey, they were able to score enough early and often to allow a defensive structure to work.
  18. Markstrom turns in a 913 from a .334 start. If he's going to continue to battle, then things could be looking up. But I would expect Vladar to get the start against the SENS. Expect it, but not confident the coach agrees. Have to discect records against East teams. I think Markstrom has sucked against OTT. Last season Vldar shut out OTT, while JM let in 4. Should be an easy choice.
  19. And on cue, 4th line out after the PP. And they take a needless penalty. Those cup rings make a HUGE difference
  20. We have to stop hitting the post. It creates the transition the other way
