I have been waiting for Bennett's game to reach the level it is at now. You apparently see him as the same player that struggled these last few seasons. Maybe as important as him playing C is that I see him playing best with someone such as Tkachuk but not on RW. If you only see Bennett's game as crashing the net there is not much else to discuss.

I did say 3rd best not that he was flawless. If you are task with carrying the puck you will give up from time to time, example Gaudreau 5x a game.

I'm not so sure I agree with where you see Bennett and his game going. Right now as far as slick moves I would put him with Gaudreau and Brodie as our 3 best to carry the ito the O zone on the 2d PP. The biggest improvement in his game this year is in compete level, how and where he is choosing to use it. His offense is also showing him with more opportunities and he is a better passer than you give him credit. I see him back at C real soon,.

Now put him at C between Tkachuk and Neal to see what else he can provide offensively

Look at it another way if he gets bombed against PIT it gives BT the clear decision to get another Goalie.

I don't think you can keep saying "we have seen it every year" when this is a much different group of players under a new coach. I will say some of the similarities that lend itself to the lazy play is when Gaudreau, Monahan, Backlund and Brodie go missing in a bunch of games or bad habits creep back into their game.

The whole team hasn't played well the last 8 or so games so this game was coming. Hopefully they wake up and quit reading their accolades.

Couldn't agree more with both of you. I think BP pulling Rittich out of that game was a huge message to him. Smith you won't change but it doesn't hurt to remind both them we now have a very good defense core so use them.

All true, maybe I should have said "fine for now". I like the proposal that came out yesterday which practically keeps the same location which also benefits the U of C activities.

I would favor seeing the West end cleaned up environmentally and the sports facilities spread out.

Stamps are fine where they are and I wouldn't go overboard spending on the CFL. I would say if they could do something on the West end location for Football and Soccer indoors it should get supported.

I like the tone of this direction/development vs KK trying to shove his plan down the City's throat. Need to work together.

Didn't it just work with Nylander by throwing out Drasaitl's number. You take 3 or 4 comparibles, years in, games played and negotiate so of course it works that way. You don't just go to the highest number out there and give it away. Well at least BT doesn't.

Good performance by Smitty last night. It appears our Goaltending is coming around.

I think he is doing just fine but now he is staring at being stretched out which should have been part of the plan I the first place. I wasn't simply referring to Eichel's goals as there has been more, he has to protect the post better and up higher. I agree with cross he may be tired both mentally and physically but Smith and Rittich will get some rest at the break.

He has to fix these over the shoulder holes, big weakness in his game.
