thanks traveldude.. I didn't start this to discuss covid or trump or the canadian/american dollar value.. just a hockey discussion on the merits of a canadian only division.. we've often talked about a Canadian only division even before today's current issues

just a marketing ploy to get some dollars into the owners pockets.. My play would be to open up arenas all across the country and The Excited states to closed circuit games played to regional audiences.. If you can get 5000 fans at bigge rinks and 2-3 thousand at smaller rinks.. you'd have a fan based game again untill this pandemic is over

my biggest issue is that they have used Johnny gaudreau as a primary player since day one.. He is not that inn my opinion.. he our.. Esa Tikkenen/ Our new Loob.. A Fleury without the fire.. He is a secondary player who.. put in the right situation.. will do well for us.. Then There is Manahan.. who shows as muchpassion as a robot.. The Phil Esposito of our 2020 team is a throwback to the center who rspends tomuchtim planted in the slot waiting for the perfect pass.. The third pairing defence has been a patch job for many seasons except this one.. Today.. it's non- existent

my two toplines are.. Tkachuk/manahan/lindholm... Jonny/backs and ryan.. magy/Bennett and Dube and then the SNLLine.. Lucic gets to play anywher to fill in for injury

well that's your team.. On my team.. I break up Jonny and monny..and mangy plays his strong side whichis left wing as does tkachuk

Simon/Nordstrom and Leivo.. line.. those three are gonna be very entertaining to watch.. I'm hoping they get a chance to all be put on a line together.. All Play the same style.. and all make 700 grand.. all interchageable positionally as well at any of the three forward positions.. They may be our fourth line but may get more than traditional playing time if they click and play well together.. This leaves Bennett with Dube and Mangiapane for the Third line.. a Ton of energy there and the top six of Gaudgreau/Monahan/Lindstrom/.Ryan/.Backlund and Tkachuk are a mixed bag of talent waiting for the right chef to mixmaster them into a masterpiece.. Yup Lucic is gonna make a few spot appearances as well I can just see Ward now.. looking down the bench.. and yelling... My LittleRosanne rosannadaana. Dube is one of those players we have that are from The Lollypop Gang... nor really a corner mucker

i'm assuming you're including Monahan as one of your so-called mucking wingers?? In five years.. i've yet to see Monahan to any kind of corner mucking

I'm actually very pleased with the current group of forwards going into the season Tkachuk/Monahan/ Ryan Gaudreau/Backlund/ Lindholm Mangiapane/Bennett/ Dube Nordstrom/Smon/ Leivo Lucic. are pretty balanced .. I worry most about what will be our third pairing on Defense.. With Gio//Valamaki/ Tanev/Anderson.. the top 4 are pretty solid.. Then we get into ifffy with Kylington.Hanafin.. and the new guys.. nesterov/Yeltsin/Lerby/Kinnevac .and whoever else shows up at camp.. None of these guys inspire me.. As Well.. Do we have the right coaching in place for the defense which is basically a complete rebuild

see you've fallen for the trap.. the real formula is.. build a team to compete in the regular season to get as high up in the standings as you can.. don't waste cap space.. instead.. use it at trade deadline to build a team capable of playing playoff hockey. you need two distinct teams every season and if you waste cap space and have no flexibility to build your playoff team.. you're screwed

for as long as hockey has beenn played.. , There is no secret formula to winning the cup.. Every year a different team wins.. and when by chance a team wins multiple cups in a row.. it's with different players in different circumstances.. Sooooooo.. The goal is to be competitive and give your self a chance to compete.. and play entertaining hockey for the fans.. Are we competitive?? mostly// yes.. Are we entertaining?? That's debatable.. are we more competitive than entertaining?? Yes!!! thererin lies the problem.. Entertain the fans.. Get them behind you and you can have the world in your hand

it's not so much the size of the players.. more it's the fight in them that's lacking... We have a complete team which is more then the rest of the league can say but.. we play fragile this I blame on the coaching.. not the players.. It might just seem like it and not really true but.. as Long as Treliving has been here.. I hear more about sheltering players than anytime over the last 50 odd years i've been a fan

getting closer but i think this year you'll see more of a team game overall with Tkachul/backlund/lindholm as a line playing top line from the other team and Johnny. Mony /Ryan playing sheltered second line offence and mangiapane/bennett.Dube being the third line game breaker line.. all other 87 players compete for time on the 4th line.. Lucic seeing spot duty depending on the team we play

silly People.. Treliving already made his thoughts on this team known to everyone by hiring Ward as the permanent coach.. Ward was hired because the current core played well and respected him.. We're not about to see an influx of new players .. it's not ward's systemes .. It's a continuation of what's in place.. We may see some minor tinkering as Free agents and UFA;s on the team sign and reject offers but that's all we'll see..

it was the best of times.. it was the worst of times...Ward is now the head coach.. which in turn means.. Treliving has at least one more year here.. Who is he reporting to that okay ed this decision.. Burke and King are no longer making decisions for the Calgary Flames.. Who is the new hockey overlord?? Why would Treliving have any insight into what makes a good coach?? Where did hew gather this expertise?? Yes.. He's good at negotiating contracts.. Maybe amongst the best .. but.. does he bring in new players to play Ward's system?? and what is Ward's system anyway??
