  1. I had such a great time at the last Olympics I was really looking forward to another.. until.. I saw the starting price tag of 5.3 BILLION dollars!! The last Olympics cost only 800 million and that included all the new structures which are already in place and usable according to the IOC.. This Price includes all of mayor Numbnuts fantasy wishes of turning Calgary into little Dubai and I want nothing to do with the bid any more.. The Thousands of volunteers that we had last time simply aren't here anymore as most of the corporate companies that invested money and people simply aren't here anymore

Smith is looked upon as one of the leaders on this team.. Is he leading right now?? nope!! he's showing too much emotion that may negatively affect the younger players// When Neal was signed to play here this summer, there wasn't a bigger supporter than Smith.. and yet.. Neither of the two grittiest leaders we have are doing crap yet.. Still finding their way in a new system?? Naw i don't follow that logic.. They were signed specifically for the way they play and their experience.. There is however a huge learning curve with most of the rest of the team and we all knew it was gonna be 20/30 games before we find our groove and consistency.. So.. let's buy a couple extra bottles of Molson for the next couple of months than see what happens.. Should Smith have played the last game?? Damn rights!! there was no question.. Starting goalie craps the bed on first two games, then gets a shutout. so here's hoping he's got it back// There is not a coach this side of Mike Keenan that would have sat Smith last night

    they were both claimed today
  4. The design of the Saddledome is what got us into this mess in the first place... We are Calgary.. Not Dubai.. build for practicality for what it will be used for for the long term.. The Coral is slated to be torn down prior to the next stampede so there is a practicality in keeping the Dome for certain events for the forseeable future.. Please.. Stop with the Artsy fartsy Satoshi Nakamoto!! No more blue hoolahoops and stop wasting billions on condo's on the bow.

the fact remains.. we don't have an NHL qualified goalie in our system/.. Yes.. we may have some possibilities that will be ready in the future but none are ready now.. We may as well just turn the net around backwards and have opposition have to bank the puck in off the boards.. We Don'T Have A quality back up goalie!! We need one NOW!!!

First of all, thank you Flames for live streaming the pre-season.. secondly.. I'm still afraid of what we have for backups.. Rittich looked extremely slow in reaction time last night and other games I've seen him play.. Maybe the fundamentals are there.. That;s what teaching is for.. but.. Personal skills is what makes a professional athlete .. He doesn't seem to have elite skill
  7. Dominion Bridge on Spiller raod built the bridge to Prince Edward Island as qwell as many bridges and roads in war infested africa ,, There is more tthan enough local talent to build an arena.. The Coral is slated to be torn down before the next Stampede.. Personnally.. I think we missed a great opportunity to reshape downtown Calgary by not moving the Stampede to Balzac and selling the grounds to Amazon for their new western head office.. They could have built a beautiful Entertainment center there as well at the same time.. The naming rights alone would have damn near paid for the building

Kipper was universally loved but he changed the way goalies in Calgary are perceived.. Prior to Kipper, one of the most well thought of goalies to play here was Reggie Lemelin.. Kipper insisted the our defense back away from the shots so he had a clear view at all shots.. This started out well except that in order for him to be successful, Our team defense strategy changed immeasurably.. It continued with the Hiring of Smith.. and his insistence on carrying and moving the puck in his zone.. The defense's job is not to go back and dig the puck, but to be prepared to accept first pass out of defensive zone to move the play forward.. Our new kids coming in to back up Smith have to understand that when they have their turn in net, The team is adjusted to Smith,,, Not a conventional goaltender and therefore.. The best option the Flames have at this time.. is to find a goalie that has the personality to inject confidence in the team.. Not necceesarily a goalie with the best numbers.. Yes.. The Flames as a whole are a headcase.. But that is what the current management has done..
