  1. Im Wondering…Cgy and Ott Brumstrum (sp?) + 2024 1st + ? Markstrom + vcr 2024 1st
  2. You have a goalie coach to do what your suggesting Markstrom doing…why?
  3. Stupid hockey move but yeas absolutely hilarious
  4. Wolf doesn’t need a mentor he need to face NHL pucks, the more the better, he’s that guy that needs to adjust. His first year in the AHL was not great, after that he’s dominated…and he’s been that way at every level, NHL will be no different. keeping Markstrom really helps absolutely nothing, if anything it impress and slows Wolfs NHL development time. if Cgy was in or had a real chance to make the playoffs I could totally get behind keeping Markstrom but fact is they are 8 points out, all the teams above them keep winning…to the point even when Cgy wins they fall further out. granted the schedule is not kind for them they don’t play only of those teams above them that they could catch. the big question is, why keep Markstrom at this point? Do you really think they can get in? The odds are against them, the safe bet, trade Markstrom, get Wolf some Regular NHL experience, get a haul of assets while markstrom is as good as any goalie in the NhL now…why risk him sliding back to last years performance? You get no one wanting him let alone the haul you get for him as he’s playing now. Added you hedge against a false perception of what your team really is…drop in the standings get a much better draft pick too…really there is nothing that benefits Cgy by keeping Markstrom if he’s in happy and wanting to leave let him go. the only reason you keep Markstrom at this point is if he’s said to Conroy I don’t want to go anywhere…then you honour the NTC but that’s really the only reason to keep him
  5. I’m with you on this tactic…Shar has been exploiting in terms of development..how much better he can be is hard to say, but even if this is as good as it gets, safe to say he’s at least a solid #2 Ctr easily replacing Lindholm. sometimes the “big name” is not as important as the chemistry between players…the big thing with Shar which we all figured when we got him, was he may click with Hubie…that has most definitely happened so that’s worth like 2 players alone
  6. I don’t think he moves either…he should but I don’t think he will. I’m wondering about Kylington and Manji mostly. Is there a contender looking for a. LW? it’s a tough call, Manji has been ramping up as of late, playing well..the team as a whole has really improved and impressed…but youth seems to be the name of the game…and the window is at least 2 years out so anyone on a 2-3 contract term should be considered to be moved…But not for picks, Cgy has enough of those what they need is young players who are NHL ready and have not peaked yet…they be had to get but they are what is needed now
  7. Man the schedule is just not in Cgy’s favour…I don’t see one of the teams that the could possibly catch on the schedule so they need to hope they loose but most of them are winning too…
  8. No look at Seattle is arguably better than Cgy right now, Nash is Fla is…take your pick..and LVK’s outliner year was the year they missed I think they have only missed 1 since starting just 6years ago…
  9. This is very true down draft year…last year would have been better, next year better too… however, this year is deep in D so it’s not great for Ctrs but D is an area you can wing big on… I can’t help but feel Cgy is gonna go hard for Tij…the marketing alone fan base is gonna be all in, even if Tij doesn’t become a star he’s still gonna sell tickets for a few years, but he’s definitely gonna be a star he’s trending extremely well..still a bit of a gamble with any draft player but he’s got everything checked to signal he’s a safe bet to be a solid #2 Ctr
  10. If we didn’t have Wolf waisting away in the AHL I’d say no he isn’t..but we do have wolf and he has nothing left in the AHL…added to the fact next year he is waiver eligible… yes he hasn’t showed like a lights out NHL goalie yet..key word is yet, give him some consistency with regular starts so he can adjust…no way they make the post season at this point may as well get a solid young Ctr which is a position of need in the coming years..
  11. Saying BS does not discount the fact that it’s the proper way to do things. proof in pudding no cup since 1989, last final appearance 2004 that’s 2 decades ago or in hockey terms that’s the equivalent of 2 rebuilds and not even a consistent contending team… Cgy needs to get emotionally invested holding on to players and get into business mode…this is why teams that expanded have won cups in like 6 years or less, why they are consistently better than Cgy has been since 2004 Tanev, Lindhom and Hanifin were selling low cause they were must moves and positions of weakness… Markstrom is not a must sell, it’s an opportunity to sell high
  12. It’s this mentality that lest players walk and junk returns… you don’t buy stocks high and sell low in the stock market…same with hockey and the players…they are the stock
  13. You can’t help but feel maybe a Hanifin deal was rushed a bit, you gotta wonder if the return may have been better by waiting till today when teams get desperate
  14. Is there any other way of making something like this work but without getting Turcotte? Otherwise it’s good…maybe instead send turcotte and LAs first to NJD for Holtz? so Cgy gets Mercer and Holtz instead…that’s better than the turcotte and LA 1st for Cgy…we kinda need young players more than picks now.
  15. Yes so either Bosnor Cgy needs to trade a G today while the other stands pat…If one moves and one stays keeps the market good for both teams now and in the summer…if both are available and possibly Nas decides to move throng too it’s gonna be a low return with 3 solid G in the summer…Nas is not moving Staios now, this leaves either Bos or Cgy to make a move now…as of now you have 2 solid G potentially available, if none move then the summer it’s 3. Markstrom is probably the best of the 3 but not by much, not enough to make a team over pay when there are 2 other options. making a move now may be the smartest thing to max return on Markstrom…
  16. Good win…but the horrible first 1/2 of the season I don’t know if Cgy has enough runway…with the teams above them keep winning too
  17. Yup the youth injections have seriously improved the team…none ode these guys would be playing say for 1 if Sutter were still here
  18. Right? personally I think it’s a matter of heart and soul, guys wanting out do have it, these new guys are young and hungry
  19. Is it just me or is Shar looking like a star Ctr in the making? also Hubie is looking good with Shar… some good things cooking in cgy
  20. With any luck that’s all it is…Dragger’s points about a lower return in the summer makes sense
  21. You would think but I’m not sure the upper mgt in Cgy has working lightbulbs
  22. Yeah that just means there is noting immediate…not saying that he will be moved by end of day tomorrow…he could get pulled mid game too if something comes up…that’s happens many times before too… This upper Mgt is gonna probably keep him thinking they can make it…huge mistake, I think the return drops in the summer cause there will be more options for quality G…I know the counter argument will be more suitors but also more decent quality options, maybe not as good as Markstrom but close enough for most of the possible suitors
  23. I can see that being a good fit for him too…not sure what NJD would want/get back in return?
