Thumbs Up👍🙂 Winning at home is great. A couple years back they were not. Bottom line is win at both. If it comes down to home ice advantage in the playoffs, a team who squeaks into a wildcard spot who can't win at home loses advantage there, but strong performing teams win anywhere. Years ago the old Flames could beat them all, other times they appeared to conquer the top teams and flounder on the lesser. Stats need to be overcome too. I like the way Sutter rewards the players that are producing but that will find a balance from time to time. That last game was OLDTIME entertainment. Here's hoping they keep up their great work ethic while increasing their scoring confidence and chemistry. Gel solid at the right time, for the playoffs right through to cup champions.

I guess it's pretty hard to level up that schedule so those advantage paramaters are even for everybody. There are too many factors involved. No insult intended but it's like trying to uncover the truth by forcing one's self to read cereal boxes but then some people might.

... also who knows what kind of aquisitions and trades management has in store? ... you never know who will rise as a leader. What's with the 4th line, not firing anymore? i'm feeling tired again. this armchair authority is hard work.

i see too much give back in 3 on 3 (and full strength, i.e. defence works the puck up to the blue line and then passes back to Kadri, like they did will JG); pulling the puck back out of the zone in order to regroup with possession. seems like there should be more ways to utilize 3 on 3 than the current copy cat. i don't get the shot clock or the whole ice thing you mention. the coilers lost last night; great consolation 🙃 there seems to be few points between many teams again, so it could be quick changes on the standings for a team who puts together a streak. i think the schedule science is bogus... or at least too kaotic to recognize. any word on Tanev? who's got the tools for scoring frequent clinch goals; who's got the goods to make Captain; who's going to really gel as a line?

they played a good game. that was an old style game, very entertaining. you don't get many like that in 'today's nhl', as they call it. the ultimate difference was Markstrom couldn't stop them in the shoot out. i hope they discontinue shoot outs. that was a hard fought game, and a hard earned single point for both teams. if 5 minute sudden death doesn't decide a winner then a tie it is. shoot outs are unprofessional, and an embarrassing display of throwing points around.

skite! win or lose shoot outs are juvenile. remove them from hockey.

Praying for Tanev. Slapper on the bean. I thought it looked like it could have been just off the helmet low. Not good. Good for you Mangie! Wideman was looking for trouble for awhile. Nice game. Entertaining game!

YAHOOO! YAHOOOOO! I had given up after years of trying to get back onto this Flames forum. I tried and tried for literally hours and hours. I am thrilled that I can sign in again! Lots has happened to the team since I was last able to post. Glad to see Johnnie G gone (I know he was popular). I still say he will help get you to the playoffs but not through. Mathew Phillips our new small guy, goes straight to the net and into the action, ALL RIGHT! Not all small guys are perimeter dodgers. Disappointed that Chucky didn't want to stay but that being said, he didn't seem to flourish in playoff games much either. We want guys who want to be here. Lindholm seems to miss his old team mates but I'm hoping he'll still mesh with his new guys. I'm not sour on Heberdeau. He just seems to have so much potential. Kadri seems to have brought his scoring knack. The D looks good. Vladar is looking good. Hope Markstrom bounces back. Stupid penalties seem to be a problem at present but lets remember the refs are calling too many 'touching' and 'pushing' grade. Great to be back! Watching the Montreal game; Tanev just took a shot to the side of the head. Dang! I think he's the most dependable D man.

That's what I like too! Lucic is a powerhouse. I wish (I know wishing is annoying) the game would go back to strength and presence like it was with the neutral zone and the red line. It's been tailored to speed and therefore youth which discriminates against older bigger, often stronger, and yes often slower players. These little speedy gonzalez kids that are coming along are idolized but would be 'neutralized' in the old game. Developed matured durable 'old guy strength'. Leave Lucic alone. He's still the best in the league at what he does.

It's the same thing each year. So and so can't play because so and so has been signed. I agree that the big league is for developed players, and the minor league is for developing players. There is no doubt that a team needs big strong developed players. Each year there are plenty of injuries. Each year there are plenty of injuries... The way I see it at present is the team has plenty of spare horses to be used for trades and/or injuries. All is good... No problems only solutions... Let the horses run.

John G is a good little player. I thought he wanted to play in Philly of someplace closer to home in the east. I was expecting to see Sean M moving on to an eastern team too. Love this positivity. Elias L is a better two way player? Does he hold up in the playoffs? He's my favorite of those three.

You need players too that can knock opponents on their Hash Rate instead of 'sticking it' in front of the net. Hab's cup loss... You can't please us all but we aren't building the team. You gotta have players that can take care of business in the finals... like John Gaudreau, not. I'm going to switch forums to talk about the forwards for awhile. Calgary's defence looks not bad.

It takes young lesser developed players time to grow into solid minds and bodies. Some guys develop faster. That's ok. Sometimes young guys find a way to get the job done. Having an Eichel would be a plus no doubt. The point I like the best is that Sutter will try to tighten up the neutral zone. That will improve any team defence. Like conundrumed said in not so many words, defence is the whole team. I think small market teams need to build differently than large market ones. A large physical gritty defensive team can still win a cup in today's game; there are already too many finesse teams in an already too large league (IMHO). Montreal lost the cup last season because of a handful of poor defensive plays (IMHO). (Whatever happened to taking 'good penalties'?... but that is a side discussion). I want to see the tiny and floating players traded for bigger hungrier ones. Sutter knows what needs to be done to win; Treliving, I'm not so sure. Another thing I like about conundrumed is his optimism. You don't get far when negativity sets in; you don't win shifts... you don't win games. We have all been there; we all know that. It's good to hear from you all again. I miss Flyersfan too.

Well it didn't get them the win tonight but they were in it for the whole game. I'm going to dig up that thread about Johnny G being a detriment to the team. Small player plays small. I know he scores goals in the regular season but he plays annoyingly scared.
