  1. I think it's because you enjoy making mistakes.
  2. Can't "like" mod posts, kind of a silly rule.
  3. Less $8-900,000 for Ruzicka. Damn I don't want him in the A this year but BT's running him out of real estate. I'm taking a cautious approach with Kadri. Last season was a career outlier. I expect a 50-60pt season from him and a FO% a bit above 50%. Definitely a solid 2C. If I put this in a trade context: JG/Tkachuk = $20mil per Kadri/Huberdeau = $17.5 per(bonus year of $12.9) Weegar(1 yr $3.25) for Monahan and a future 1st Artistic liberties I know. but I'm glad it went this way. I do love Mony and believe in him, but the risk is very real. I hope he's a 30 goal guy again, but that's an uphill battle after 2 years of injury nightmare. I don't think either of JG/Tkachuk are worth their new salaries, but that's my opinion. JG is still the best skater in the game for my money, but those 2 aren't worth >20% of our cap. There's too much to unload, so I'll put it in a nutshell. @cross16 has been the only one to bring up this very important point: roster turnover. It takes awhile to find the synergy, so we fans will have to be patient. We were already hard to play against and we just got harder imo. It's making me hard.lol
  4. Huberdeau: I'll take 10 because Brad told me Kadri wants 91.lol
  5. With all of the conditions on the pick, I'm not sure anyone will ever figure it out. "Eff it I've got a migraine, keep your stupid pick". lol
  6. Depends if you're blowing it up or not.;)
  7. Could be someone valuable to the KC Mavericks:)
  8. Yesss!! I was hoping we'd pick up future considerations in this deal!! Moving Monahan was never gonna be cheap.
  9. Sure hope so. Hating Lamoriello and his recent foray into dick moves stalling the market.
  10. BT still has some cards to play. My guess is that's why he also hasn't inked Weegar yet. Imo, something is up, I don't know what, but BT is always in on everything. He's keeping options open I think. You'd think Rozie's an easy one. He's a solid GM, somebody put a bug on his phone.lol I'm really believing that my 2 fave teams have my 2 fave GMs. Complete silence until they make an announcement. Dealing in good faith goes a looong way in the old boys club. I'd say Burke and Maloney did a great job of bringing BT into the GM fold. He has truculence.lol
  11. That comes as a very big surprise to me. I have never seen him play wing. I honestly don't think he has. Maybe PP in the A with Gawdin at C? If he has played wing, it's extremely limited. Never in jr did he play wing. I guess CF is why some bloggers have him at RW. He has not been a RWer that I've ever seen.
  12. Same same with the hindsight. I made fun because I distinctly remember @cross16 at that selection at that time really wanting Stankoven. Aaaaand he was right. That guy oozes hard work. So my hindsight is due to cross.lol To be honest. But all we can do now is laugh. So really, I was ribbing cross. Sorry cross, all in fun now. But you were totally right at the time, now it's bleeding through even heavier. Somebody hire cross, for christsakes.
  13. I've been surprised to see some line guesses having Rozie at RW. He has never played wing to my knowledge. Need him to come through so hoping we don't need an alternative. I personally want him to come through so I can say, see @JTech780 you were wrong about him 5yrs ago.lol Ex-Sting guy, gotta cheer on the homeboy.
  14. Don't say it don't say it don't say it......STANKHOVEN having a solid game...
  15. Sorry I had him in my mind as a LW. My bad.
  16. Bottom 3 guy I'd say. I'd prefer Lucic personally. We need better answers than PTOs regardless.
  17. Offer sheet.lol $2mil Dubas, there's his contract. You got no money. We'll trade him back for Kerfoot. *I would not last as a GM.lol
  18. Yeah I agree on the Sutter factor. He's a useful 4th line guy though. PK's as well. 13 goals last year, played a full season, -4 on Detroit is proof that he doesn't hurt you. Pretty safe player. But yeah, the Sutter factor. Noticing the Lucic to Anaheim rumours rising again.lol
  19. I was wondering about Sam Gagner. He was actually a decent 4th liner with Detroit, occasionally elevated to 3rd. But honestly, how many 4th liners do we need? ARI will probably sign him. Detroit now has too many forwards, feel kinda bad for Berggren. Not really room for him now. Unless he beats the door down. C'mon Ruzicka, impress the crap out of us.lol
  20. Is it time to start considering PTO's yet? Just noticed the Canes PTO'd Stepan.
  21. Yeah that's sweet. I can't even go to Detroit's A games, Grand Rapids is over 3 hrs. I do get to go to occasional U of M games though and USNDPT are a little over an hour. We've had zero Silver Stick Midget tourneys in 3 years now I believe, that's a huge drag. The NHL alumni list is like a who's who list of NA NHLers from Doughty and Hamilton to P. Kane and Tavares and everything in between. Even Gretzky as an Atom player.lol The tourney is Midget and Atom A thru AAA, NA Finals. Even the Atoms can kick my Hash Rate at hockey.lol
  22. Ah yes I did forget about Jack Beck. Interested if he'll be with the Wranglers (gotta get used to not Heat lol) or back to the O. It's heartbreaking seeing kids miss key dev time, especially right after covid shut down the O. It can be a dream killer. Solovyov is interesting as well, as is Nikolayev. I also forgot Cole Schwindt who could quite possibly be in the top group. Wake up at 4:30am and post this I may have been a little groggy. I do hope Phillips gets an actual chance this year. Otherwise maybe move him to Chicago where he can have a better shot. I'm not sure there is much else he can do. Damn it's exciting to have them in Calgary, you guys are lucky. It will make this section far more interesting with actual live viewers.
  23. Yeah same. I think NJ may really need to address G & D. If Blackwood can't turn it around, I doubt Vanacek is a good answer. Both Washington goalies looked pretty bad last year, and the Caps obviously saw that too. Samsonov in particular lost his net on a regular basis. And NJ's outta cap space. They have 9 of their 13 forwards up for contract renewal next year.
  24. Thought maybe development could use it's own thread. I can't locate a handy list of development staff unfortunately, it's a bit of a drill. As for scouting, it looks pretty thin. Head of Amateur Scouting: Tod Button Amateur Scouts: Jim Cummins (USHL), Terry Doran (Sarnia boy!!) (OHL), Ari Haanpaa (Europe), Bobbie Hagelin (Europe), Bob MacMillan (QMJHL),Allister MacNeil, Eric Soltys (New England), Reid Jackson, Robert Neuhauser, Billy Powers, Darren Kruger, Patrick Lachance Maybe I'm missing something, but that is razor thin. Do they all have underlings? Midgets need to be scouted heavily, that's where you meet the parents... At any rate, our development is on par with everyone else's. So much is reliant on the individual player that misses are more frequent than hits, by a lot. I believe we currently have 3 prospects that I have full confidence in: Wolf Pelletier Coronato (though it's early) It's the next tier that worries me: Zary Kerins Pospisil Stromgren - NEEDS to be full-time SHL this year or it's over Valimaki Kuznetsov Poirier I we can bat 50% here I'll be ecstatic. If we could eliminate the need for UFA and TDL acquisitions that would be a huge step in carving the path forward. For me, there is nothing more depressing than the revolving door of throwing picks to address immediate concerns. The "win now" mentality certainly, by now, must be outted as being incredibly shot-sighted. TDL and draft floor moves for immediate fixes have had the opposite effect of longterm pain with little immediate gain. I hope beyong hope we've finally learned that. What would you say if you were an amateur scout with picks flying out the door? I don't think I'd be nice about it. Just wondering everyone's thoughts, everyone here has been watching this for years so I respect everyone's take on our drafting, development and hopefulness.
