  1. 1 pt was nail in our coffin. play theses guys rest of season.
  2. Thanks Lou... TD... Welcome to the GDT creation club.
  3. Funny how recently when we took him out we lost to LA 8-2. When we bring him back we win against Anaheim and GKnights(should have won).. There must be something more than you guys are seeing like maybe leadership in the dressing room.
  4. ...and yet in that same timeframe he took our shared AHL players and formed the Abbottsford team so we did not have to have our prospects in a shared(with Chicago) team. I view that action as one of the biggest advancements for our prospects ever.
  5. This is really misleading TD. Why would you state it this way? We play them on April 5th. So that game is the only must win. If we win that one we only need "1 more win" than they get. Same number of games remaining after our win last night against LA .
  6. No.. but We have 8 games remaining. 81 points now. We will need 95-96 points for a possible playoff spot. Realistically we need to almost win out and we probably need another team to flounder.... Jets or Preds. I don't see us jumping over both teams. Preds have games at hand on us. Sure is lonely on this Bandwagon...
  7. Some Babble The Calgary Flames potentially are staring at their last strike. Heading into Friday's Saturday's home game against the cellar-dwelling San Jose Sharks, the Flames (32-26-15, 79 points) are six points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the final playoff spot with nine games remaining. The Flames already knew they need a miracle finish to reach the playoffs, but their chances took another hit in Thursday's 3-2 home loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Disappointment was the buzzword in the aftermath. "It's always disappointing to lose, especially the situation we're in," defenseman Rasmus Andersson said. "I don't know if it's nerves or we're thinking about it too much. We're not thinking about the game that we're playing if we're thinking about the situation we're in too much. ... Nine games left and a lot of stuff can still happen." The Flames have plenty to be disappointed about. Calgary has a ghastly 15-12-15 record in one-goal games. The Vegas clash is the 22nd loss when the Flames outshot their opposition by 10 or more, an NHL record. They are also the only team without a win when trailing after two periods (0-18-3). The capper, though, is they fell behind by a 2-0 score for the third time in four games. It showed a lack of urgency for a veteran-laden team with the season on the line. "We weren't ready to go on time," defenseman MacKenzie Weegar said. "We need to be ready in these games, these situations, the last 10 to go. We need to be desperate right off the start." The Sharks (19-38-15, 53 points) have no sympathy for their Pacific Division rivals. San Jose is at the bottom of the Pacific Division and ahead of only the Columbus Blue Jackets in the standings. That situation may be good in the hopes of winning the draft lottery and claiming phenom Connor Bedard, but it has been a difficult spell. A 7-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday leaves the Sharks winless in eight games and only one victory in their last 14 outings (1-9-4). The Sharks had plenty of turnover leading up to the trade deadline and have been integrating prospects ever since. A night like the one in Vancouver did not come as a surprise. "When you make so many changes, some of the things that are happening out there are not really the fault of the new players," coach David Quinn said. "They just haven't been accustomed to playing the way you want to play, but the guys that have been here have to keep this thing together and understand we've got a season to finish, and we've got to do a better job finishing on a strong note." In a rare positive, defenseman Erik Karlsson can reach 100 points in a quest to claim the Norris Trophy. Karlsson has collected 22 goals and 88 points in 72 games. Even his assist against the Canucks could easily be overlooked, though, with veterans failing to lead the way. "We just killed ourselves in the first because the three goals, we just give it to them," forward Tomas Hertl said. "And after it was too many penalties, and that's how it's going for us lately. ... I am one of the guys here and (it) just can't happen like that." --Field Level Media
  8. It's Gameday 2pm START Back's 900th Game, 3rd all time for Flames He has been with us a long time
  9. We can look at this season from so many perspectives or all of them. GM - did not keep his core and vision together. This years club he scrambled together a "save his butt team" that isn't very good and is a borderline playoff team if that. In his defense we were told it was a borderline playoff team. We got exactly that. Coach - Did not get the buy-in to his system. I didn't see the System change much to adapt. We did get a lot of line shuffling between and during games. Sutter told us at the beginning of the season this team would have trouble scoring goals. We had trouble doing exactly that. Players - This group allowed almost as many goals scored against as for. Those results show the defence broke down too often and the goaltending didn't help often enough. Do the players pick up on things like a GM and Coach not getting along? Is that why they were so erratic this season? Coaches rarely gets an extension before the GM. What does that tell you? It means Sutter is committed despite the shuffle of players he has been given. Not sure you can take much else from that. BT waited for his last term to expire before resigning.
  10. Rumours are GM and coach don't see thing eye to eye.(Eric Francis). Lets be clear does anyone think that with the departure of 2 top core pieces who have been together for years should not have made a difference? Yes Hubie and Kadri are good but they have no years of playing together {yet} to fall back on. The makeup of this team falls on GM. The system of this team falls on Coach. The execution of the system falls on the players. The coach is not only one who is to blame here.
  11. Dallas Flames Goaltenders We are back in The Dome Soooo...
  12. It's Gameday Getting hard yet exciting to watch this season.
  13. Tonights game is as "must win" as you can get for the Flames. While we won't be mathematically out if we lose, but you may as well ship the garbage bags to the locker room if we don't win, in this arena we have never won in... Yet if we do win, then you can expect another or more important must wins especially against the main team we are chasing.. {Jets}
  14. So yesterday before our Dallas game TSN did a mock draft using the standings positions at that time. From their Mock lotto they had Canucks moving up to pick 2nd overall. Button shares his 2023 TSN Mock Draft 13th pick Nate Danielson
  15. What I find interesting is Minny was selling at deadline. We were closer to buying without spending assets or draftpicks.
