  1. So true for us it seems but that is the case for 32 teams each year. Only 1 team gets that privilege.
  2. Posting Open Avalanche played Jets last night. Avs have a couple of important D out with injuries. TD and I had a posting discussion about the next few game and the Easier April final games. Tough schedule the next bunch of games and should be a bit easier in April. Reason to be discouraged and hopeful in same breath. As for me I'll sit on the bandwagon and "Dream On" until the last minute is played. Go Flames !!!!!
  3. Stats Stuff Late Edit: I think the boys are going to come to "Rock and Roll" tonight. Probably my all time favorite song by Led Zeppelin.
  4. Calgary Colorado Goaltenders Okay guys let's bring the Thunder
  5. It's Gameday Saturday Night Hockey... Need a Win badly.... Playing the Stanley Cup Champs... The time for good intensions is over.
  6. They really only need to keep pace in march. If we can be a couple points within a playoff spot or better then we should be fine. Look at April schedule: Nothing too difficult here
  7. Important stretch of games right now..... More than important... Season could be on the line....
  8. Maybe things will change with Bettman already announced his retirement.
  9. and they have a win streak against us too I think. Maybe not... 3-2 win over them last game.
  10. Go Flames !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Mumbles A trip to the Stanley Cup playoffs may seem like a pipe dream for the Arizona Coyotes, but they are not going down without a fight. Heading into Wednesday's home game against the Calgary Flames in Tempe, Ariz., the Coyotes are looking to extend their streak of collecting at least one point. Thanks to Sunday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Coyotes are on a 5-0-4 run, including a four-game home-ice winning streak. "All year long we've been good in this building," said Coyotes forward Barrett Hayton, the overtime hero. "The energy is great. "We've done a really good job in here. We have an opportunity to play a lot of home games here down the stretch and keep it going." The Coyotes surrendered a 2-0 lead against the Blue Jackets, including the game-tying goal with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. But they pulled off a victory that ran their home-ice record to 13-8-2, all while under the expectations of seeing players dealt away before the March 3 trade deadline. While they may be expecting subtractions from the lineup, the Coyotes also saw a valuable player return for the Columbus game. Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, who had been out since Jan. 24 due to injury, was able to join the fun. "Happy I could be on board for one of them," Gostisbehere said. "It was awesome. You see it differently when you're not playing. The boys are trying really hard every night, and it's definitely noticeable, so when you come in you want to hop on and get on the train." The Flames arrive after yet another disappointing loss just as they believed they had turned the corner. Calgary absorbed a 4-3 home loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday to remain just outside a playoff spot. "I feel it's easy to kind of get hot, right, and we haven't really gotten hot this year," said forward Andrew Mangiapane, whose third-period goal tied the game only to see the Flyers net the winner a couple of minutes later. "We've had a couple streaks or whatnot, but not really long ones. I think we're due. We're playing the right way."The Flames outplayed and outshot the Flyers but could not gain a lead, especially after they erased a two-goal deficit in the final frame -- leaving them the NHL's lone team without a victory when trailing after two periods."We came out and came back," said forward Mikael Backlund, who collected one goal and one assist, giving him 14 points in the last 11 games. "We had that jump. Just really tough when you come back and you still find a way to lose. It's frustrating." Calgary has lost five of seven games (2-3-2) and has not won consecutive games since Jan. 21-23. Four of those five defeats have been one-goal losses. "It was a close game. You can't take any team lightly in this league no matter where they are in the standings or whatnot, but I thought we did some things well and we have to build off that," Mangiapane said. "But I feel we've got to play a full 60 (minutes). We've been kind of saying that a lot, but it's true. We let up a shift or let up a period and teams are capitalizing on us right now." Stats
  12. Calgary Arizona Goalies No sad or Blues Tonight
  13. It's Gameday Hey You !! "No doubt" on our victory tonight.
  14. Scope A case could be made both forward Jonathan Huberdeau and goaltender Jacob Markstrom had their best games of the season when the Calgary Flames beat the red-hot New York Rangers on Saturday. Now, the onus is on the Flames, and specifically that duo, to build on that performance when they play host to the struggling Philadelphia Flyers on Monday afternoon. The Flames remain in the thick of the playoff chase, but have won consecutive games only twice since the start of January. A big reason for the lack of the success has been the struggles of Huberdeau and Markstrom. Against the Rangers, Huberdeau collected two assists, including the overtime winner in their 3-2 victory, while Markstrom's performance was much closer to last year's top-tier level, even though he only faced 20 shots. "That's how I've gotta play for the rest of the year," said Huberdeau, who collected 115 points last season for the Florida Panthers but has only 38 this season. "Sometimes, you don't think you have it in you. (Saturday) showed that I still have it and I can make some plays and play well. It's going to bring the confidence back, and that's what I need." Huberdeau has clicked lately skating on a line with Nazem Kadri and rookie Jakob Pelletier. Markstrom won for just the second time since Jan. 6. The question is whether the Flames and two of their key parts are capable of piling up a stream of big-time performances. They all know the importance of cobbling together a winning streak. "It's a playoff game every game for us," Calgary forward Mikael Backlund said. "We can't afford to lose too many more. We have to go on a streak here and bring it every night and we'll have a really good chance to win games." The Flyers are having an even harder time finding the win column. Philadelphia has dropped the first two outings of its four-game road trip, both by 6-2 scores, the most recent defeat at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The Flyers, who were thumped by the Seattle Kraken two days earlier to kick off the sojourn, are winless in their last four games and on a 2-5-3 skid that has all but dashed the playoff hopes that were charged by a strong stretch into late January. With 25 games remaining in the regular season, Philadelphia is nine points back of a playoff spot and needing to vault a half-dozen squads to jump into a wild-card spot. A first step is to snap this losing skid. "We've got to find a way here to even up this road trip and continue to have belief," said forward Scott Laughton. "I know a lot of guys do, and we'll keep pushing." Unlike the Seattle game, the Flyers were actually in the thick of the fight against the Canucks, who are even further out of a playoff position. Philadelphia pulled within 3-2 late in the second period when Morgan Frost snapped a 10-game goal drought, but couldn't find the equalizer before the Canucks doubled the lead midway through the third period and then netted a pair of empty-net goals. "I thought that there was no quit even though you can look at the score, how it ended up. It's not a reflection of the game," Travis Konecny said. "We worked really hard, we believed in ourselves and they just had a few more bounces that ended up in net." --Field Level Media Stats
  15. Philly Calgary Goaltenders Don't want to play this game Like a Stone.
  16. Actually I think someone tried to fix it recently[couple of weeks ago]. The above is the link now Before the link the "community" was at the end of the nhl.com /community I have lost my cellphone access to this error now. Only going to a direct forums thread link gets me in now.
  17. Saw a stat on twitter last night. last 25 Flames are 13-7-5 Looks like a sprint finish between the Wild and Flames for the last wild [no pun] spot. I was looking at the standings and everyone in the west below us does not have a wining road record. Our team diff is still in +plus. Everyone below us in west has a -minus diff. Shows me that we are right where we deserve to be.... on the bubble We have not had any win streaks.. Now would be a good time to have one. That early 7 game losing streak has really hurt our chances and made it borderline now..
  18. I have to do the same. I sent peeps a few screen captures and told him the main drop down link is showing an error. He can only pass on the info with no idea when they can fix
