  1. According to the CBA players can go on LTIR Conditioning Loan for 6 days or 3 games. Teams can ask for an extension of two games. Kylington was put on conditioning loan on the 4th, and this will be the Wranglers 3rd game since the loan. I am guessing that they will ask for an extension seeing as he hasn’t played in a year and a half. After that though they will have to either add him to the active roster or put him on waivers to send him down.

    important.

I think Silayev would be a very good pick for the Flames.

He is under contract through 25/26. That could deter some teams. I personally, think it shouldn’t, but that was the case last year with Michkov.

If you can get d-man with Hedman upside, I would wait till 2026 to get him over.

    Lindstrom is really good.

That Med Hat team is a ton of fun to watch.

I think he could go anywhere from 2-7

Yeah I have seen him ranked from 4 to 19. The size, skating and skill package is going to be pretty tantalizing for teams in the top end of the draft.

Though there is going to be a lot of defensemen at the top end of the draft that bring size and skill to the table. Anton Silayev is 6’7” and is a great skater, he has been climbing the draft boards. It’s just hard to get a good read on the Russians, because nobody can go watch them.

  4. Konsta Helenius is another guy I think would be great in the Flames range. He did not have a great WJC, which is an area of concern, but the Finns as a team had a horrible WJC. Helenius has high hockey IQ, good skill and is a good skater, not afraid to fight for the puck. Reminds me a bit of Lindholm.

It’s the mins per game Chiarot averaging over 21 mins Zadorov averaging 17 mins that’s the difference between a guy playing top pairing and bottom pairing.

They weren’t going to get anywhere near the same return. Maybe he could’ve gotten a 2nd if he would have retained cap.

    Really?

Montreal retained 50% of his $3.5M salary, so retaining only $1.75M netted them this return - at the trade deadline.

Don’t fool yourself. This is an underwhelming return for a player that would’ve generated a lot of interest at the trade deadline.

    Boooooooooo!

Ben Chiarot was playing over 23 mins a night when he was traded. The Flames were never ever going to get anything close to this in value.

So what his actual worth is? or is he a 5/4 D? I put him as a 5/4 as he's probably more 3rd pair but can move up to top4 if needed.

I was hoping to get a 2nd rounder. I think if it was TDL he might have gotten that. He's the kind of player teams want for the playoffs.

I don’t think it would have made a difference, now or at the TDL.

I certainly didn't expect the type of production you saw last year from Duehr but I at least thought they have found some energy, speed and fore checking for their bottom 6. Been really surprised to see him go away from that, but he's got to get back to it if he wants to stay.

Not sure they'd waive him at this point though.

Someone has to go when Pelletier is ready to come back, and Coronato is going to force his way back into the lineup sooner or later.

Right now I would rather keep Greer than Duehr.

Read that a few minutes ago.  It makes sense.  Not sure why they love Gilbert so much.  He hasn't gone through waivers at all, but I think DeSimone is better.  Not that it matters much, they only play 12 minutes.

See I think Gilbert is better than DeSimone. I find DeSimone is too prone to turnovers for a 6/7. Gilbert doesn’t do anything too fancy but he plays his role.

DeSimone assigned to Wranglers, which is odd.

    Only 6 active D.

    13 active F.

    2 active goalies.

No waiver moves today that I have seen, so something is brewing.

Maybe Kylington is due back, but they would need to send down Gilbert.

    That leaves them very close.

Maybe Pelletier is ready, but not sure why you send down a D for that.

If he was on the roster any longer he would have needed waivers to go down. Also they are at home for the next 6 games, so they don’t really need to carry an extra defenseman.

  11. First of all wingers and goalies don't belong on this list IMO, if you are paying top dollar for these positions you are doing it wrong.

    Since 2020:

    Panarin 1.26 pts/gm (272 points)

    Pastrnak: 1.21 pts/gm (267 points)

    Marner: 1.26 pts/gm (283 points)

    Huberdeau: 1.04 pts/game (243 points)

    Tavares: .97 pts/gm (225 points)

    Kopitar: .88 pts/gm (208 points)

    Eichel: .91 pts/gm (129 points)

So I would say Price, Bobrovsky, Tavares, Kopitar and Eichel belong on this list less than Huberdeau does.

A little banged up doesn't sound like watching a game as much as being cautious.

If there was some concern about his game, then sure.

Sit him down, let him see.

But if anything, this happened in one game, so I don't think he should sit for that reason.

I was just more getting at that regardless of why he is sitting, it isn't the end of the world nor the worst thing to watch a game from the pressbox and just slow things down and refocus.

At worst, he not only killing his trade value, but his contract aspirations.

When he was humming and haaing during negotiations, he should have asked for a sign and trade.

Probably could have interested a few teams with a known extension.

Obviously you don't sign before the trade is in place.

Anyway, Lindholm not producing is more concerning than Huberdeau, IMHO.

Expiring asset, wants out, part of the top line that used to score most goals.

I agree, Lindholm was going to be the piece that brought us the biggest return now I am not so sure.

I think teams are starting to figure out that he isn’t a play driving center, he is a good center who can play with skilled players, but is best suited to play with wingers who can drive offense.

I think I made a suggestion of moving Ruzicka to C for strong side draws.

It would also move Mange back to LW.

Use Lindholm for his strong side, but revert to his wing after.

The only issue I have with that is that Ruzicka isn't great 2-way.

    Lindholm is better.

The solution to that is to use them less in power vs power and more in select starts.

Not really sheltered but they don't get stuck facing top lines.

At the end of the day we should be trying to pump up his stats, to raise his trade value. I would run him only in offensive situations for now.
