  1. Personally I would send Coronato back to the AHL, now that Pospisil is back from suspension. He isn’t ready, I would have preferred that they called up Schwindt last time instead of Coronato. Leave him there for the remainder of the season and let him dominate, have a good run in the playoffs. Next year I think he makes a strong push to make the roster.

  2. It could just be me, but it looks like Coronato needs to find another step if he wants to be more productive at this level. You can see that he is willing to work for the puck, and thinks the game fairly well, he just looks a step behind. Hopefully he can work on this in the offseason.

  3. It’s pretty interesting that in his first two games as a Flame Miromanov played 18:59 and 20:26 minutes, third in each game behind Andersson and Weegar. Seems he is gaining the trust of Huska.

I missed the game against Carolina, but the game in Florida I thought he played well. Seemed to have a good knack for when to jump up and when to stay back, made a few nice passes out of the zone, stayed controlled in the defensive zone. Didn’t really do anything flashy, but played a simple game for the most part. I did like that he seems to have a shooting mentality from the point.

That's a total cost of almost 5 million.

That's poor value for a 3rd rounder IMO. Also think the GM might have been a bit busy to try and pull that off....

Not to mention it would have taken up their last retention slot, which would have tied their hands on any deals today and at the draft.

Cheap add. Probably a player they like.

Book on him is physicality which I know is a skillset Conroy values. I thikn this is more about that than an upside play

    .

It really seems like a Conroy has a vision of pairing offensive defensemen with physical stay at home defenders.

Interesting D pairings. I'm surprised by the Kylington Muromanov pairing.

Feels very high risk, high reward

Yeah, it will be interesting for sure. I will say Kylington’s game has calmed down a lot since he came back, making much better decisions.

I wonder if the Flames have to look at Sharangovich at C long term. He has held his own, he has been an impressive 200 foot player this season.

    It's a sideways move.

MEP never was able to crack the lineup.

I don't know this kid will either.

    Both are listed as C's.

MEP is a winger, he hasn’t played C in the AHL that I know of.

I am guessing that Rooney is getting traded, which means a C from the Wranglers will be called up, so the Wranglers will be short a C. Not too mention that Zary was playing C there and got called up.

  8. Wonder how the d-pairings will shape out once Miromanov arrives.

    Kylington-Andersson

    Weegar-Miromanov

    Hanley-Pachal

Pachal has been a really nice pickup, he is steady and gives a nice physical presence to the bottom pairing.

I am excited to see what Miromanov can do. Big RHS defenseman with a big shot. He only transitioned to defense in junior.

So, the trade was sent to the nhl and they told LVK they need to find a 3rd party to take salary? Maybe they thought Cgy retention was enough with using LTIR but it fell

short So now They are scrambling to

find a 3rds party willing to take salary but maybe it’s a heft price since they need it, maybe LVK is shopping around 3rd party brokers for the best deal?

    the thing that doesn’t make

sense here is why then is Hanifin to LVK confirmed but not the final return? Something is not

    adding up

It never went to the NHL. My guess is that Calgary and Vegas have agreed to a deal in principle. Vegas is now trying to get a 3rd party broker to take on cap, because Vegas still wants to add another winger and wants to make sure they have room to do it.

This is pretty normal this time of

    year.

Don’t mean they may want him anyway…hill hasn’t been as good as Marky…unlikely but you never know with LVK…

If Manji was a RW I could see it…maybe they want Coleman he’s a RW, on a good contract and term…also having a crazy good year..

Hill has been better than Markstrom, just hasn’t been healthy. Vegas just signed Hill to a big extension, they have no need or reason to trade for Markstrom.

So strange it was announced, but no details.  Very strange.  Miromanov "part of the deal"... Time for dinner, hopefully we know the details in an hour.

It wasn’t announced, the insiders said it was done, but I am sure they are either working on the extension and/or a 3rd party broker for the cap hit.

I would consider both of them actually.

At the very least we should be waiving Oesterle or Gilbert and make a roster move (on paper) if required to claim either.  I get the sense we won't get Hanifin traded until the last minute.

Is LA making a move for someone not being mentioned?  I don't know why they decided to do it today, unless they are completing a trade very soon.

LA is one destination Hanifin might sign long term.
