I'll complain about Lacks shabby goaltending as long as he continues to play like a drunken beer league last minute sub... I'm thinking that you should take your own advice... You seem to be suffering from some "confirmation bias" yourself... While we're at it, I'll direct you to this... Seems like you might find it helpful... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-righteousness

Nope, just agreeing and adding a few thoughts...

Lack is on waivers because almost 1 in 5 shots on him ends up in the net... His battle with confidence is his own internal battle... Lack will have to try and find his game elsewhere as either he is picked up on waivers or he will have to pay some more dues and try and find his way back to the NHL... There is no cruelty in this decision from the Flames, it would be unfair to the rest of the team to put Lack back between the pipes unless he proves that he can remember how to stop the puck first... I hope that they give Rittich a shot... There's only one way to find out what he can do, and I can't see him playing any worse than Lack has...
  4. That is almost a 'fact' I can agree with... Not a lot of people, but just a few...
  5. Usually if someone makes a post to try and get a negative reaction, they succeed in getting one... You should consider that, and also consider making it a habit to ask yourself "do I really wan't to post this" before you click on the submit button... However, I do give you credit for putting more effort into grammar and spelling, as your posts are getting easier to read...
  6. Fact?... Well it's sure a good thing that you didn't take your earlier stated fact as actually being a fact then isn't it...

Yes, we are a different breed... You can call it mojo, or a number of other names, but when some goalies lose it they never get it back, and that can happen at any age...

, The only answer I can think of is that Gully pushed for him because of the potential he saw in Lack a couple of seasons back... Unless Lack can somehow snap out of the slump, his days even as a backup in the bigs could be nearing an end... How long has it been since Lack put together at least 5 decent cent game in a row?... As for his time with the Flames, trade him or waive him to the Heat... Now... He has no confidence, and without that he is not going to get any better... I might be wrong, but I don't think Lack can regain the confidence under the pressure he feels while playing in the NHL right now... Maybe he can get it back, but the best place for him is either in the AHL or at most a team at the bottom of the standings where the expectations for success are lower... You could just see it in Lacks face after the first goal went in, he looked defeated, then after the 2nd and 3rd went in, he was beyond finished for the night... Either of Gillies or Rittich are better options at this point, and if it was up to me I would give Rittich a shot,... It's getting to the point that if the don't at least give him a chance they will risk losing him for nothing, and it would be a shame to see him go on to have success on a different team and the Flames be in the position of shoulda, woulda, coulda...
  9. More than just a few free samples... I'm thinking he bought a major chunk of shares on the condition that he could routinely be supplied with 'quality control' samples before he even made the announcement for legalization on July 1st... I can just imagine how that goes... "Um, uh, uh... Yeah, uh, that's uh, pretty good... um, stuff"...

Happy Birthday resident Minion and Cat Wrangler.  Enjoy your day.  Let's hope the Flames wake up and provide you with a win over the despised Nuckers.

  11. At $500 a "share", you would have to buy 1000 shares to buy that ugly piece of crap Bowfort Towers art project that looks like a scaffold some drunks put together out of junk wood... But I guess the "bright minds" running the city thought that supporting a very wealthy New York artist was a good choice during an economic downturn, perhaps they thought it was needed to go along with all the other expensive pieces of so called "art" the city has felt was a good use of taxpayer dollars over the last few years... We should also be concerned that maybe they figure that new high dollar art center they built should generate several new 'artists' they can give grants to and buy overpriced ugly crap from ...
  12. Good find FF52, you made me laugh... https://www.thebeaverton.com/2017/09/nhl-threatens-move-canucks-calgary-city-doesnt-build-new-stadium/ But maybe we should just exile Nenshi, King and Bettman to Vancouver instead..

Obviously not going to happen now, but still interesting to hear about it from Fleury... from: http://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/news/marc-andre-fleury-would-have-waived-no-trade-for-the-flames/ar-AArP6Ug?li=AAadgLE&ocid=spartandhp Marc-Andre Fleury can admit now he was preparing for the possibility of becoming a Calgary Flame. He’ll even go as far as to say that had Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford crafted a deal to send Fleury to the Flames at last season’s trade deadline, the 32-year-old goaltender would likely have waived the no-trade clause he has in his contract. “I think so,” said Fleury while in New York for league meetings. “I think Calgary is a great town and a great hockey team too. I think they’ll be very good again this year. But here I am.” In Vegas.

Of course official NHL protocol is strictly followed NHL for the week leading up to the draft... That little $#%@ gnome would never misrepresent something or lie to all of us...

Lack sure wasn't a strong blip on my backup search radar... Just hope that we get the right version... The one with a .921 SV% and not the one that had a .886 in the playoffs that same season... The one that got a win from the Flames in OT in his NHL debut game when he was with the Nucks, and then 2 years later got his first playoff win, again against the Flames... The price was right (Kanzig), the dollars work ($1.5 mil), and the term is right (1 year)... It's gettin' to be slim pickin's in the goalie market... So let's give him a chance, and we'll see what he's got... Worst case scenario, Gillies could come take his spot at least until they can figure out another plan... It's possible that he could step up with his play and make Treliving look like a genius... Let's hope for the best...

That from Elliott Friedman. Intersting for 2 reasons. 1 sounds like NIlsson may not be an option, but interestingly enough Bernier is absent from that list. I'm not his biggest fan but on a 1 year deal he is a solid option as a backup and the fact that he may not be drawing much interest is interesting. Could make him a possibility We will have to see how the goalie market plays out, but I agree that Bernier could turn out to be one of the better options left on the table... Not my first choice, but the options could be quite limited...
  17. I'm on the list of those hoping that someone offer sheets Draisaitl... Karma at it's finest... The Oilers deserve it...

Who said that I thought any of the goalies since Sigalet was a coach should have been exceptional?... Of course we would all have liked to see progress with every goaltender, but even consistent performance in the net would have been more acceptable... I would not be so critical of Sigalet if it were not for the fact that since he has been the goaltending coach every single goaltender has regressed to the point that they needed to be replaced...

No, and I'm thankful that he wasn't... So far Sigalet's track record has been abysmal... Can't get any worse than batting zero... On the bright side though, if he stays around maybe he can learn a few things about goaltending from Smith... Even better, maybe after Smith retires he can replace Sigalet...

Of course other teams are not going to simply accommodate the Flames by trading a goalie just because the Flames have a need for one and a unique opportunity to protect them for the draft... Dealing a goalie before the draft would still have to benefit the team that was trading the goalie... But as far as cost goes, I just can't see the deals getting better after the draft when other teams that need a goalie are then also able to bid and drive the cost even higher... Market value will go up, not down... Supply and demand, economics 101...

    Goaltending

I sure hope that Treliving works a deal for an upgrade in the next 3 1\2 hours before the freeze... The Flames have a unique advantage of being able to protect a goalie if they trade for one... There are only a few good choices left since Bishop and Darling are out of the picture, and there are a few other teams also looking for a goalie... I just don't see the cost being any less after the expansion draft when other teams are also going to be able to bid on the best goaltenders...

Ovi had both a bad knee and hamstring during the playoffs... His wife posted a pic of the hammy after the Caps were eliminated... https://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2017/05/12/nastya-ovechkina-shares-grotesque-photo-of-a-bruise-on-alex-ovechkins-leg/ Part of the knee damage came from game 5 of the 1st round when Kadri caught him with a low bridge... https://sports.yahoo.com/news/kadri-takes-ovechkins-knee-low-hip-check-001545273.html It is quite unusual that I would ever defend Ovi, but it sure seems like he was playing hurt for most of the playoffs...
