Feeling some positivity tonight, because the Coilers just got swept in 4 straight... and I will be smiling for days about that...

🙁<------ Carty today.... and I'll probably be rattled about this one for a while yet... Losing is one thing, having braindead refs affect the outcome of a series including a key game is another... One of the worst parts is listening to Coiler fans gloat... A good old friend of mine included... He called me up after the game, and the call resulted in a bet for a lunch... I don't gamble, but I have zero doubt that the Oil Slicks will not make it through the next round... Aside from being outclassed and outplayed, they will not get the same kid of favoritism from the zebras next series... It will be a good lunch, and I will no doubt have some fun chuckling about Edmonchuk's demise to him while I enjoy my free lunch... Heard this one on the radio this morning, and now it's stuck in my head... and it's quite appropriate for my mood today...

This wasn't just a couple of mistakes, and then the no-goal call was beyond any reasonable explanation, served as a capper to the total horseSatoshi Nakamoto gong show put on by the refargis series...... Like I already said, I see an orange and blue jersey in your future..... So why wait? Just put it on, you know you want to... and I have no doubt you will be- (Maybe secretly) cheering for the Coilers next round... It all comes down to the no-goal call as a perfect example of how the refs are all too often seem to be hell-bent on ruining the game of hockey... Pi**ed-off would be an understatement... Sad bout the state of hockey due to mismanagement would be closer to the truth... Time to abolish to Referees Union Association, it's overdue... Who runs things anyways, the league, or the refs...

Even the McPr**k devotee's are saying that will be one of the most controversial and talked about call-offs of a goal in NHL playoff history... Absolute Bulls**t... Only one way to even start to repair the damage, and that is with a Flames win... F*** you third rate zebras, and p*ss on the league for not getting better refs.... The morons they have had in this series so far should not even be allowed to ref a kids game, EVER!!!..

Et tu Brute?... You shouldn't lose faith that easily... It was game 3, in Edmonchuck, with piss poor refs, not as bad as last game, but still worse than even being mediocre... The Flames will win the next one... and if Looch was going to get a 5 minute misconduct anyways, he might as well have run Smith full freight train instead making an effort not to... That's the message there...

I should have added to help clarify why I said what I did... Sometime trying to keep it short does not work very well... The main reason the Flames are behind in the series is sloppy play in the D-zone... Markstrom has been good enough to mask that when it has happened more often than not throughout the season... But now Tanev is still out, which not only has taken away one of our best D that can deal with the speed and skill players... But absolutely screws up the D pairings that strongly contributed to the success the team has had so far... They need to adapt to the changes better... The play in the D-zone has been mediocre or worse all to often for the last few games... It has to improve greatly for the team to move forward, and they need to figure it out... Markstrom has been hung out to dry all to often by bad D-zone coverage... and that will get any goalie rattled sooner or later... He just needs a bit of a re-set, and the rest of team needs to learn not to depend on Markstrom to cover up their mistakes as much as they have become used to...

Right now, I would start Vladar next game... No slight against Markstrom... He is a huge reason why the team is where it is so far... But he is not where he needs to be in his head right now... and that is not typical for him... Tough call for Sutter, but if were up to me, I would start Vladar, and see how it goes for the game... I would have pulled Markstrom well before he finally did... I'm an old goalie, and I get it no one likes getting pulled, but I think Markstrom needs a bit of a jolt a jolt to reset, and just a regular a day off between games is not going to do it... Maybe I will change my mind by Tuesday, but I doubt it... Let Markstrom get hungry to deliver... and he will...

I watched the game again, and the refs looked even worse the second time around... When the ref said he intended to blow, it was one of the few things he said that he got right... He did just that...
