  1. Send it addressed to Kesler in the Ducks locker room... It should be enough to fill the Honda Center and end the curse of the duck pond...

I hope this is just another ugly rumour...... From: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/clagary-flames-have-discussed-taking-on-toronto-maple-leafs-goalie-jonathan-berniers-contract/

I would have waived Hiller... Ramo had better numbers even then, and Hiller has a higher cap hit... At $4.5 mil a team would have to be half crazy to pick him up from waivers with how he had/has been playing... and that is also what makes him near impossible to trade...

I could be wrong, but I think that realistically Ramo could continue to let in one softie per game quite often... The difference might come from how he could possibly make up for it with highlight reel saves like he has shown us he is capable of in the past... How many times did Kipper do that after he let in a softie?... I'm not saying that Ramo is on Kippers level, but that is one ability both of them have in common, it's just a matter of how often they could do it... If Ramo can start to do do that more often as Kipper regularly did, we would all be happy... As a long time goalie myself, there is one thing I can state as fact... If a goalie says he never has a brain fart and let's in a softie, he is a liar... It's a matter of how he recovers from it, and makes an effort to make up for it for his team... It's also a matter of pride, you get one past me that shouldn't have gone in, and I am going to shut the door (or die trying) for the team and for myself... Now that the goalie carousel has stopped, and Ramo is getting regular starts, there is no doubt his confidence level has improved, and that should help...

II have been critical of his performance earlier, but I have to give Ramo credit for starting to show noticeable improvement... Hopefully that trend continues... Is he the answer?, it's possible, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it... He is currently the best option available in the system so he is getting the starts... The Flames need to keep looking for a true number one, but there are no easy answers... Any goalie that I can think of that might be available just isn't on my want list... With the way Hiller has been playing, he does not inspire confidence even as an overpriced backup... The 2 recent games the Flames won despite Hillers play, not because of it... The team simply overcame the deficit created by poor goal tending by putting a couple more in the net... It wasn't just the flu, Hiller has been shaky all season... Even if Ramo continues on an upward trend, the Flames still need to pursue a number one goalie in my opinion... It's possible that Ramo could really step up... He has the motive to do so after making it through waivers if he wants to further his career in net, so we shall see... Even if he does, continuing to pursue a legit starter is the safer bet, and unfortunately that will take time...

Indeed it does... There is no question the Flames need an upgrade in net... Khudobin might be an upgrade on Hiller, but they need to find a better solution...

I am not saying the Flames should claim Khudobin, just clarifying the cap hit... He was a $2.25 million salary cap hit for the Ducks this season... Khudobin would be a $1.415 million cap hit to the team that claimed him, or $1.3 million to the Ducks while in the AHL if unclaimed and assigned...

A statement like this doesn't inspire any credibility... Kiprusoff deserverves more respect than that...

Going into the season, on paper our D looked like one of the best in the league... When it's been as bad as it has for this many games, coaching (including special teams) has to be called into question... Even adding a player like Hamonic would not "fix the D" at this point... To turn it around will require a better coaching strategy, motivation and effort from the players...

Nope... I'm pretty sure this is our D...

I think a number of us are of the opinion that Ortio should have got a start much sooner... Waiting that long for him to finally be put in for a few games when the team is behind the 8 ball and hasn't been playing well was probably a bad idea... He looked just rattled last night and it seemed as if the pressure was getting to him...

Exactly... when the team as a whole is playing poorly, it can put any goaltender off his game... Just to pick one of the goalies having a bad start to the season, two years ago Bobrovsky won the Vezina and so far this season his SV% and GAA are worse than Ramo's... BOBROVSKY RAMO While we have had poor goal tending so far this season, it wouldn't matter if Price was in net until the rest of the team steps up their level of play...
