Not sure of the exact endgame, but it gives them a lot of options. Here is our submitted roster to start off the season. I hope that the Pospisil line has a good start. Mantha is the great unknown, but perhaps his buddy Huberdeau and him click. Pospisil will not doubt bring it every game, and showed this summer what he can do in the middle. They won't get the most minutes. Most nights that will Be Backlund's or Kadri's lines. I like the 4th line, since it can be shown to be effective. They will create havoc in the O-zone. Honzek and Kadri and Kuzmenko. That's quite the combo. Lots of creativity. They have some speed too. Should be good for some goals and perhaps Honzek creates a long term opportunity for himself. The alternative with him and Sharky both in the lineup is unclear. Mantha to 4th line, Zary to C and Pospisil to RW, then Honzek to Backlund's line? No idea. The D is a little scary. Miromanov a little green, but Weegar offsets him. Andersson does a lot good but struggles with coverage some nights. Bahl offsets him by being a huge deterrent to the opposing F. Bean and Pachal both have their weaknesses. They might be the one pairing that exceeds expectations. Or they could be the weak link. I think we will surprise some nights and be unable to score other nights. With how I understand our first round picks works this year, imho we can't really afford to be successful. Even if I wasn't so rebuld-inclined, we're really locked in there from past poorly-thought-out trades. A glimmer of hope on offense with holes in defence and very young goaltending is the perfect recipe to keep it entertaining but not threaten our 1st rounder. We secure a top 10 draft spot, it's only a FLA pick going out. 11-16 bad if we don't win the lotto. But 11-16 might as well be 11-FLA. We give up the better. conundrumed Posted October 8 Author Report Share Posted October 8 The lines don't look bad, just need everyone on the same page. The D, well, need to see how Miro and Bahl are going to fair. Bean and Pachal should be a decent bottom pair. G will be as good as the D allows. I like both guys, but our team D has a habit of making goalies look, "not great". Maybe that can change. Obviously, they are going to try and make the playoffs. Million dollar question is will they actually accomplish that. I highly doubt FLA finishes outside the top 10. I should also add, that was a great tactic by Conroy. Vegas wanted all-in last year, so Conroy said, "okay, we can revert to a 2026 if you can get another deal done with your 2025, but with no conditions". That's great negotiating. We're in no hurry. We get the 2025 pick until they traded it away. That is one of the more odd conditions I have heard. Like I will pay you unless I spend my money.
