If you grew up with the Flames and you're not young, then you know Bearcat Murray, and you know he was one of the most amazing human beings in hockey.

 

A giant heart, all class.

 

Rest in Peace, and thank you Bearcat for going out of your way to get me the signed Flames hockey stick when I was a kid.  Just so you could see me smile.  Been a Flames fan ever since, and still have it to this day.

Read his autobiography recently.

Watched him jump on the ice to treat Vernon against LA.

Never met him personally but you just know he is the sort of guy you would love to be around.

I think Bearcats would be a good name for the AHL team.

 

He was one of a kind, almost as big of a star around town as any of the players.

I was thinking the same. Team and Arena, actually. Pay homage to our greats. That's the way.

Sad to hear the News of Bearcat's passing...   He was one of a kind...   RIP Bearcat, you will always be an important part of Flames history...
