Three Wishes

You are digging around the attic one day, and come across a teapot. You rub it (because that's what people do apparently), a genie with a flaming C pops out, and offers you three wishes for the upcoming Calgary Flames season. What are your top three wishes for the year? I would like:

1. A solid effort every night.

2. A great start to the season.

3. Sweeping the Oilers in our series.

I get too greedy. I want Chucky to smack down Doughboy, Monahan to get 50, sweep the Ducks, hundreds of Oiler jerseys to be thrown onto the ice etc. etc.

2. The team usually outworks the opposition.

3. The Flames make the play-offs and advance beyond the 2nd round.

2. The Goalies stay healthy and help each other out

3. Make the playoffs and get past the first round because anything can happen in the playoffs

1. Bennett has a William Karlsson type year. Not expecting 43, but maybe he can score 20?

2. Flames make the playoffs 

3. Flames win a round and maybe even two... heck I wish they would win 4 rounds this spring

1. Be a blue collar team

2. Stay focused when the opponent turns the tides, i.e. don't fall apart for 5mins(use the frigging timeout)

3. Don't make excuses for losses or anything else that comes up

 

Seems pretty tame, but if this whole "mental fragility" goes away, it should solve a handful of other issues.

I'd rather be a Mony team, stoic and composed.

Rather than a JG team, emotions all over the map leading to bad decisions and falling apart.

All joking aside...

 

1. Bennett finally has that break out year, pots 25 goals and 50 points.

2. Hanifin finds the next level, leading us all to say ‘Dougie who?’

3. Gio and Brodie play like it’s 2014 again, and Gio finally gets the recognition he deserves, winning the Norris trophy.

Mmmm, this is fun, I’m gonna gonfor gold some of this may be a repeat but:

2. This is the year, that starts a dynasty run

 

3.  Mmm, well I guess if the first 2 come true there is nothing left but heck let’s go with a crazy trade that leads to the next “great one player” being drafted by us (help ensure the second wish comes true I guess?)

I wish I could come up with wishes that made sense.

Drat, I just used one.

1.  Goal scoring is no longer n issue.  All 4 lines score very well.  Top line scores at will, but still only account for 35% of goals scored.

2.  Goaltending is solved, both short and long term.
