Three D power play?! It's cheeky, but not as cheeky as the time that Brent Sutter deployed five defencemen against Vancouver: Jay Bouwmeester Mark Giordano Cory Sarich Brendan Mikkelson Anton Babchuk Shockingly, the ploy didn't work, and the boys went 0/3 on the PP that night, and allowed one shorty to Mason Raymond en route to his first career hat trick*, eventually losing 7-2. Love. * - Mason Raymond would score another hat trick years later, but this time he played for the Flames and propelled them to a 5-2 victory over the Oilers

I think you have to grab it, and throw it in front of the net, don't you? Love. -

You know, without the real time context, I have no idea what that means. Love. -
Unless you're on a Stanley Cup run, then you can do whatever you want. Love.

Apparently it isn't true... but the tweets are a riot. Love.

I don't know, Man... it seems to me that it's unfair to ask a question in earnest, and then radically highlight the correct answer with a slightly larger font, and a underline. Unless, of course, that was a clever deception. An argument could be made that Carey Price shouldn't be on this list. That guy hasn't done anything lately! Love. -

I did like the Ferland comparison. I think it might have been @robrob74 who made it. I like his game a lot, but I do have concerns about the longevity - not because of the heart, but because of the injury history. Hopefully my instincts are wrong in this case! Love.

GDT - Flames @ Kraken - Monday 20th Nov 8pm MST

Nice going, TD. I just noticed, however, that you've got the time wrong. I suspect you copied the title from the last several GDTs, which also had the time wrong. @Ryan Man was the last poster to get it right for the Predators game. Then second-guessed himself, and it's been all the way wrong ever since. It's definitely MST. Anyway, here's a cool one that's unrelated. Feels like I owe you one for being the "Well actually..." guy. Love. -
Oh yeah, my point being that Lindholm has played very poorly this year by his standards, and up until now, no one has been paying much attention because Huberdeau, and up until a few games ago Kadri, have been taking all the heat. Love.
-
I think Huberdeau is taking a lot of heat off of Lindholm. Love.

Yeah, I'm very interested to see where this goes, or what the justification is for laying the charge. Is this a Bertuzzi/Moore incident, or is it a Tuttle/Malarchuk incident? If they are laying the charge, there has to be some justification that it's more like the former. If not, that's a super dangerous precedent. Love.

Pretty stoked to see Wolf get the start. I hope he has a great showing! If you're in town, please do come check out the Iron Maiden tribute/EMS Moustache Party afterwards. It'd be cool to meet some of the board! Love. -
You know, this is the kind of thing that makes me angry with the league at times. Remember a few years ago, when the Arizona Coyotes forfeited their 2020 second-round pick and 2021 first-round pick for violating the NHL’s combine testing policy? That seemed like a pretty substantial punishment. I am curious, how is it that the Chicago Blackhawks could win the most consequential draft lottery since McDavid less than a year after the news broke that they had a coach that was sexually assaulting a former first-round pick, and that furthermore, members of the staff, including the coach and GM at the time were aware of it? Maybe it's a false equivalency. I hope so. Love.

Oh my gosh! I hear ya! In my opinion, the time to sell was last year at the deadline. It was pretty clear from right around January that they weren't going to go very far, even if they did make the playoffs. Some of the outrageous overpayments at the deadline last season would have looked great on the Flames! There were individuals on this board advocating for that at the time. I would have moved everyone that I could that didn't have a newborn. Instead, we ended up with Slick Nick Richie with the season on his stick in the last shootout that mattered. This team is in some big trouble, and you've got to keep in mind, there's still one more bullet in the chamber from the Monahan trade. The Flames might not get a first round pick in June. Love.

Love was my preferred option, but not because he necessarily would have fared better. I just like the idea of the rising star, and I think Ryan Huska has been behind the Flames bench too long. Smart guy, and all that, but it was a pretty milquetoast selection in my opinion. He might have been the right choice two or three coaches ago, but this one feels overcooked. Love.
