  1. Yeah, I would be interested in one year deals for Drouin and Pooly. So, we are talking to Dumba? Fine if we move Backlund I guess.
  2. Gudas in ANA. Yikes. Have to face them a few times. Love the player, hate playing against him. McDavid will just love playing him.
  3. That's an odd one. Wonder how it's legal? You can't really sign perf bonuses to anything other than ELC or 35+. Or so I thought.
  4. Twitter broken? Weird messages, not loading anything.
  5. Lucic to BOS. Bernard-Docker re-signed. Klim at DET 2x2 OEL to FLA (doomed if true) 10 teams in on Duchene
  6. But, hey Dreger has Brown linked to signing there. Get their hopes up. Maybe, but who can they trade that would even begin to offset the deal and make room for the other players needed?
  7. I get the signing, but I don't get the term. I know BT knows the cap implications, but to me it's risky.
  8. The high value guys that get bought out get close to their original pay on a new deal. They don't dign for low ball offers unless they suck. Duchene is still productive. If he would sign for a year at less than $4M I would consider it. Just to get him set up for a TDL trade. Maybe I'm just concerned about having Hubey and Kadri also over 30, but we can't spend all our cap on over 30 guys.
  9. Well he also has to sign McLeod who took a bare minimum deal last year so they could win the cup. And they also kinda need to sign another 4F. $7.1M to do all that. I have heard of some suggesting we sign Yammo. I have enough problem with Mangiapane getting knocked down every shift, plus Pelletier not being as strong on the puck as some. I'll give the pass to Pelletier right now.

  11. One would assume they saw his combine performance. I think he could do a pull up. Combine would be a good indicator of where his leg is (attached to his head?).
  12. The first 12 games is rehab, getting back up to speed. Look at Ryan Leonard's stats last year. Or Benson, Yager or Danielson. Only one of those had a higher p/gp for the season and it was .25 more per game.
  13. All players are risks. Even Bedard, who plans to be in the NHL this year, will risk it in his first year. Big defensemen don't let up on you because you draft 1st overall. He will get the same attention Gaudreau saw from big guys. But Johnny was far more used to playing with big guys. Anyway, no point in worrying about his injury. He is healed. At that age, cuts heal fast, so he is probably just as strong as he ever was.
  14. So, he was back Feb 12th. He was a P/gp player to finish out the season. Here's an article on TSN. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/mark-masters-samuel-honzek-refused-to-let-injury-derail-first-round-dream-1.1977705
  15. Two years down the road, a 6th rounder could come out of nowhere. 5 years down the road, there could be a superstar in the draft we didn't look at. It's hard to get a handle on how good some of the guys from Europe will become. Ever hear of Tanner Jeanneau before 2022? Kaprisov went in the 5th round in 2015.
  16. From what I have heard, DET is buying out Yammer. Kostin wants a bit higher than 4th line, so that may happen. Sometime. Qualify him to keep his rights. Worry about the contract when the summer trades etc are done. I can't see Czarnik getting a spot and Klim not.
  17. I think we have to wait the year to see what post injury really looks like. That is fine. He was never going to be a Flames this season. We seem to like drafting kids from that team. And the BCHL by the looks of it. BCHL not the worst place to look.
  18. Well, I think the conversation was that we were close to a playoff spot with the number of one goal losses and crapping the bed from the goalies. The only thing that would have made us a threat in the playoffs was the being built for low scoring games. Again, we didn't have the goatending. This year, Marky at a decent average is a playoff level. We lost a 30 goal scorer this year, but possibly get a 30 goal scorer back with Hubey playing LW. Or Lindholm scoring more with a decent winger. So many under performers last year. I don't know what we will look like in October, but I laugh at the idea that we won't be at the very least a bubble team. Doesn't mean we make it, but at the very least close. The Pacific is always up and down each year. Teams rarely have strong seasons two in a row.
  19. If you can get over the handedness, this wasn't a bad draft. We got a high scoring D. Poirier is quickly overcoming his D faults. Honzek could be a steal, but even topping as a 2W is good. Some of the other are interesting and the development could be key.
  20. Except we have to trade to a failing team for their 1st, no lotto protection.
  21. So the timing lines up with getting 1st overall in time for new arena. The way the lotto balls drop, ya know.
  22. Yeah I heard something about his solid hitting.
  23. He can play in the upcoming WJC for one year. But that doesn't answer your question about the AHL. Drafted from a CDN team, he has to be 20 in the season he plays in the AHL. So, one year junior and one AHL.
  24. How diffiicult will number assignment be in the future. Every player we took had #23.
