  2. I mean don't get me wrong, Dube is a decent player. He has some areas he could be better in. Sutter mentioned transition out of the zone. He might be better away from the walls, since he doesn't have to win the battle there. I do believe he needs more consistency in draws and perhaps a little better in the D-zone. I guess that's why I though he might be best with Lucic and Lewis. Where Lucic struggles is the short pass to begin the zone exit. Dube is a bit more slipper in the middle and could take the pass. Ruzie is fine there, but I see his skills used possible better at C on the 3rd line.
  3. It appears that Rozie is the 2nd regular callup. He was placed on the roster the other day. I think you may see him in the next few games, to see if he can be a regular for the playoffs. Haven't liked his faceoff stats, but as a team we seem to struggle some games. Even though Dube is scoring, I don't think Sutter is thrilled with the rest of his game. It might be a good time to experiment with the bottom 6. Coleman-Ruzie-Jarnkrok Lucic-Dube-Lewis You might even want to go a couple of steps further: Coleman-Backlund-Jarnkrok Mangiapane-Rozie-Toffoli Lucic-Dube-Lewis Jarnkrok is due to break out, but I think it's a good idea to put him with Backlund to improve the defense there and to give a 2nd guy for draws. Backlund gets tossed way too often. Mange and Toffee get a decent passer and Toffee more likely to get a forehand pass from Rozie. That line would have speed and a decent sized C. The 4th line reunites Dube with Lucic, just in time for the playoffs. It keeps Dube off the boards on entries.
  4. Who would have thought that Vegas and VAN would be tied with equal games remaining. VAN has a max of 97 points. VGK has that same max, but VGK wins the tie breaker. Tonight's games have huge implications as noted by BOSN. I am hoping for DAL to win-lose the next 2.
  5. As Sutter would suggest, you only need a 16-12-0 record to win the cup. Get down 2-0 in a game and battle back. We scored 2 in the greasy areas. No Bettman points in the playoffs. On a side note, I don't think we got a lot of quality chances against Saros. A couple of odd-man rushes with no pass used, one breakaway. Gaudreau was uncharacteristic in his breakaway and shoot out attempts. Keeping his best options hidden, but we won't get a lot of chances like that in the playoffs. Mangiapane continues to show why he is a good playoff scorer. Depending on the opponent, I like the Ruzie option available. Ritchie is a regular season guy that you need in case crap starts. Playoffs is a different beast.
  6. Well, we were on a B2B, they were fully rested. We would start at home. Goaltending is similar, but they need to run their guy to ensure a playoff visit. They have less skill at F, but a better scoring D-man. He was a non-factor today. We had 2.5 PP's to their 4.5 PP's. Many of the calls on us would never be called in playoffs. But anyway, as a matchup, NAS or LA are the more even teams to face. Dallas is anything but predictable.
  7. Next clinching scenario is DAL @ EDM Wednesday. We could, I suppose, wait for Thursday and do it ourselves. But a loss by EDM gets them thinking.
  8. The Tkachuk call I get, since they pick one guy a lot of times. However, that's after a number of scrums, not the first one. Two calls against Zaddy, one was a weak hook, the other was a makeup to the fans. No way a hit like that should be called. The Mange penalty was a hockey play, not a hit. The OT call was so late, like they looked for the chance to make one. The player that came off was not in the play. Moving on. 1 point in a B2B with extra travel? I will take it. Magic number can be achieved simply though an Oilers loss tomorrow in regulation.
  9. Dumb way to decide a game. BS reffing this game, but whatever. 3/4 points in B2B. Bring on the playoffs.
  10. How is that a penalty? Stupid refs falling for NAS fans chants.
  11. Lewis the only C not blowing faceoffs. The rest are sub 50%.
  12. Flames could use a PP or two, and not spent most of it with Backlund.
  13. Bread rises to the occasion. Homemade Bread is good. Bread on the road is great!
  14. Mangiapane gets another one. Thought NAS interferred with oue goalie. Stage 2 Complete. Begin Stage 3.
