We have needed minimum 3 to win this season. I mean when we score 3, we normally win. Better start and if it wasn;t for dumb penalties, it would be better ffor us. I laugh at HNIC. They are saying since 4 were scored in the fist, we may see baseball scores.

Backlund needs to play cleaner. He's the PK expert, can't be off like that

Not unexpected, but a little annoying that we have a useless 4th line and won't do much with it. Lewis has a minor injury. Lucic doesn't care. Maybe that's why the team played so poorly against CBJ. Have someone not wanting to be embarrased by Leafs and will gladly sit out. Make room for the kid. They could even drop Mange to the 4th line with Zohorna and Ritchie. Oilers suck. Need McPoints to score on the McPowerplay. Puljujarvi is getting to the point of giving up. Yet, he is no less a hockey player than little Yamamoto. Who needs defense other than to score a goal.

Almost zero point in buying out Lucic other than creating a vacant spot. No cap savings. Doesn't help other than sink us for two years. Neal was the problem, where scouting identified him as a viable target. Very few of the trades have worked out recently; Lucic, Jarnkrok, Carpenter, Lazar to name a few. I don't have a problem with Kadri or Huberdeau or Weegar. Rooney was before the Tkachuk situation was an issue. Other than him, we are paying the cost it takes to play here. Kadri went for less than was expected. But that doesn't absolve him for keeping Lucic. At worst Monahan would be on IR for part of the the season again and we have a real player as opposed to Lucic. At best, we have a Backlund level player that we can re-sign next season.

I really don't know what to make of it. The coach seems to believe that you follow up a strong shift with the 4th line. It just seems like he just says next and the players go out. No thought to who is out there or is maybe set to go out. As a result (on the road at least) we are getting hemmed in and no chance to change. Some minor forechacking and then back to our end. Last two games, they have been sat more than not. Poor results for them. So coaching thinks that we have a strong 4th line. It's one of the worst in the league. There's a price for that old identity. The goal was for the Dome to be a tough place to win, but it's become a place where we intentially put out the worst line out there given the other coach's choice. Anyway, getting away from the point at hand. Sutter criticized the entire team about CBJ game except Markstrom and Tanev. Said they played opposite to the toles they have. The D was really bad. Even though it was a sad game, it looked like the team was trying to figure out how to play without coaching. Trying to change a gameplan on the fly. Maybe that is the cause of the up and down play? Can't figure out how they are supposed to win 3-2 games or 2-1 games.

In hindsight, would it have cost as much to trade Lucic away?

I wonder if it's time to put Rozie back on the top line. Only player that seems to bring the same pace every game. He at least shoots. I would also be willing to ump down anyone from the 2nd line. They were bad defensively.

Flush this one/ It wasn't anything to watch or gauge the team on. Too many went to Johnny's for supper last night. Like they didn't want to play the game against him. The D was bad. The F were trying to look cute. The hitters weren't hitting. Lucic had one good hit in the entire game, but he is lost with Ritchie to make him look good. Or without Rooney to show he's not the worst. Best line out there was Backlund, but even Coleman was messing up plays. Not sure how our coverage was so bad that they get multiple 2 on 0's. The D pimch and nobody covers. Where is the C? Anyway, I would prefer to see them ice the kid than the F's that played tonight. 9 of them anyway.

50 gams at 5 minutes each. I think he can jandle that. Not like he's fighting or hitting that much ot skating. Didn't even need to wash his jersey.
