  1. Horrible shift by Ritchie =d couldn't get control of the puck. Blockchaining Flames and love affairs with Ritchies.
  2. Backlund shot it back to the middle of the net or he had it.
  3. So that's what a PP looks like. Who knew that getting the goalie moving with puck movement just might work?
  4. Oh christ, they're giving us the sky-daddy talk...
  5. Those 12-16 picks really aren't a huge difference.
  6. That was a gifted win for the Jets. The Wings went all out against the Canes last nigh and won with 3 seconds left. Hellberg gave up 3 on the 1st 8 shots. We just need to keep up, get the W and carry on. They really need to pull out all the stops tonight and just get it done. In other words, stop muttering to themselves at every whistle like they always do. Get determined...for the love of all that is holy...
  7. No help from the Wings on their b2b, as expected.
  8. Dammit, spent all of our energy beating the Canes 3-2 with 3 seconds left when we have the Jets tonight. Hopefully Hellberg will be up to the task of matching Ned last night. Marco Kasper got called up before getting to GR.lol But he just landed Wednesday, so see when he'll actually get in the lineup, if he does.
  9. I'm very cautious of Seravalli personally. There are 6 different ways to spin the same story, and how it is told depends on the person telling it. When he talks about Sutter I hear axe-grinding music in the background. He's earned the right for me to not trust him at face value, personally. He loves his clickbait stories. Everyone talks about Sutter vs players. What I don't like is "reporters"(read:bloggers) that latch onto it because it gets clicks. Take this story as an example. Seravalli is taking a very broad stroke of liberty here at concluding the story the way he chooses to tell it. So that leads me to question if he's being misleading with the entire thing. My gut would tell me that he is. He's drawing his own conclusion based on the way that he wants the story to read and, of course, again, what will get the most clicks. I disagree with Sutter a lot to the point of frustration, but he's there everyday seeing what he sees and reacting as he will. I, like Seravalli, am not. But I, unlike Seravalli, recognize that. So lets squeak into the playoffs and put this whole Satoshi Nakamotoshow of he said she said behind us. Entertain me with hockey, not rumours.
  10. Showing they NEED a healthy Jarry. They've cratered every time they have had to rely on DeSmith. Jarry's had a rough season of injuries. As for Nashville, Saros' back must be sore from carrying them all season.
  11. In sorta related news, Harvard teammate scored his 1st goal on his 1st NHL shot for the Canadiens tonight.
  12. Wings are on the 2nd of a b2b for the Jets. Playing the Canes tonight. They've likely shut Husso down for the season to see if Ned or Hellberg can be backups next year. Husso's been waaay overplayed this year. The Flames will make none of that matter, one way or the other.
  13. That's great news!! I think he'll be a good player. We tend to get stuck with stat-watching re European players which formulates bias opinions based on stats. I think fans are in for a bit of a shock. He's a very good skater with good hands at 6'3". The SHL is better than the AHL, so an 18-19yo being able to get bottom 6 minutes is a big deal in and of itself. He was too dominant in the U20 league to be there. And the SHL helped him progress on the D side of things which he needed. This pick was never a write off. Only for people that stat watch. He's going to turn the tables on prospect rankings next year when people actually watch him play consistently rather than a tournament that should more or less be ignored. This is the same for Ronni. Both players will be on the big team in 2-3yrs max. Don't be surprised to find out that Stromgren is a very good player and adept puck carrier and scorer. He's only 20yo through next season, not like the clock is ticking.
  14. And he married a Meredith.lol Poor bastard. This Wild vs Avs game is awesome!
  15. Your crystal ball hasn't exactly been stalwart my guy,lol
  16. Making up potential Gaudreau scenarios and being "extra careful" with Coronato. It's just an ELC signing. No need to invent scenarios. He got the NHL deal because we may make the playoffs and we're one RW injury away from a major problem. So he can alleviate that concern and be a Black Ace. Alternatively, Detroit signed Mazur to an AHL-tryout ELC because they have zero need for him on a non-playoff bound team. There are no storylines to invent, just a wait and see how it goes.
  17. Gabe Perrault looks very similar to ex-Sting and brother Jacob to me. High end scorer in lesser leagues but is there enough in the rest of his game to translate? Not sure with Heidt. I can only go by what's being written. Yager's likely right near Barlow in that 7-10 range. We should do okay regardless of who's there and where we pick. If we sneak in and get a round or more in, oh well. There isn't a ton of separation after the first 4 for sure, 6-12ish solid, then not a lot separates. If we end up with Reinbacher or Willander I'm happy with that too. If we go fwd in the 1st rd, I'm kinda hoping for D Tristan Bertucci with Flint for the 2nd. Really like his game. Great skater, good gap control, plays tough on D, sneaky pinches on O. Just a smart player with solid skills. I hope we avoid Swedish and Finnish fwds, I'm just not feeling it from watching Stenberg, Dower-Nilsson etc. They just seem so passive in their play. Bigger ice maybe, not sure, but not impressed. Stick to Swede D.
  18. The illusory truth effect is strong with this one.
