  1. Looks like the site cratered at the same time for everyone. In a winning game even.lol
  2. I can't wait until Ritchie and Stecher become priority signings for next year. /s
  3. Well if it's somewhere famous, "the tourists steal all the signs and stuff, and it's all guys on the bus, so we drove another 3 hours before we finally asked somebody where we was".
  4. I've gotten that far but the Sting game's on TV so I'll finish after they destroy Owen Sound. 2-0 and counting. Agree about LA, they've looked great for a while now. Love the Korpisalo add.
  5. Just put it on, weird 5 minute sponsor break cuts in. But maybe the start was just a highlight.
  6. I was thinking since BT got here, so call it a decade.
  7. I was trying to track here but seem to be getting blanked. https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/transactions/calgary-flames/signed-undrafted/
  8. Have we ever signed an undrafted CHL player? I'm seeing them happening and it made me try to think of the Flames ever doing it but I'm coming up blank.
  9. Between about 6 to 30-something, there is little definition in bpa. There will be a lot of good players there. There's a few that I hope we avoid, but not many. I have Danielson around 10-12 for now. But that's just me watching what little I can of the WHL.
  10. I'm glad I did that before it started. LA has been playing high octane. I'd have been shocked to wake up to a win.
  11. I'd be shocked if they do. Even Ohio State is no pushover.
  12. Not a bad plan. He plays a pretty responsible D game as well. It'll be an extreme learning curve, hopefully fans will understand that if this happens.
  13. Schenn is an old skool player. Not sure what Ehlers was thinking pushing that envelope.
  14. Pelts-Kadri-Dube could be an adventure. Stupid 10:30 starts that actually start a 10:45. Of course I'd have to stream rather than PVR for tomorrow. Thanks SN.
  15. Click the watch on youtube link. It's just an age restriction filter.
  16. From rich to poor in a hurry. Moves would have to involve a younger pro C. Hopefully Kerins and Ronni can take some great development steps next year to breath into the prospect pool. We're definitely hanging in the balance of a tumultuous future. Even the cap for next year looks sketch and I hope beyond hope we stop the grizzled vets 4th line route. It's been of little value this year. No more Ritchie's. Jeez, I didn't want the first one.
  17. No 3rd option?lol You're no fun anymore.
  18. I avoided that but my list is similar. When I look at scoring, I see 2 fwds with lethal shots, Lindholm and Toffoli. Everyone else is startling me and have all year. Not having a great shot like those 2 can be overcome. Get it off quickly. It seems like EVERYBODY has to stop the puck to shoot it. You have milliseconds to score but you're taking seconds and your shot isn't good enough to do that. So you have high volume, call it high danger, but it has to get off of your stick right now. It makes my eyes bleed watching these chances but stopping the puck for a second. This isn't jr, you have zero time. But they do it constantly from Kadri, Mangiapane, Coleman, Backlund. Release isn't just being tricky, it's being fast. It touches your stick it's gone. That's your scoring chance. Stop it, pull it back for power, chance gone. It's constant. Where's the shooting coach?
  19. Lindholm's a big one. I don't want it moving into the season one way or the other. Once bitten twice shy. He would garner a good haul if it came down to it. We're going to be pretty cash-strapped heading into next season. It'll be an offseason of decisions alright. As for Kadri, it's unfortunate that this is the typical script when the expectations hit the cold reality. Like you said, can't even decide on lines. For me, there is too much dead weight/same old-same old on the roster. It's just not a "hard work wins" league anymore. Every team works hard, nobody's outworking anybody, every player needs a good skillset. Grunts won't get it done.
  20. Holy f$#$ Jets. I'd be ashamed if I was Ehlers' teammate on the ice when he had to stick up for himself. You have to click the Watch link, provided that you're old enough.
  21. The tournament brackets have been set: https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/icehockey-men/d1/2023 Having PVR'd the Michigan vs Minny final and watching it yesterday, I think I watched an unbelievable preview of the National Championship with Michigan taking the Big 10 Championship 4-3. High entertainment start to finish. Exceptional hockey. Harvard draws Ohio State. Turn off the national rankings. The Big 10 is a whole other level of hockey beyond the other conferences. Harvard is in tough. Border town means I have the Big 10 and NHCH channels. I've streamed other conferences. Here's my own personal opinion of Harvard: Play conservatively Fall behind Sean Farrell tries to be Mario Lemieux and fails Lose big games If you like exciting hockey, this tourney's for you.
  22. I seem to remember something about, "a waste of 9 days" being applied to the 8th seed last year. Does that still apply? Every team in the conference are fighting for position, not resting players like the Top East teams. Then you have the non-playoff teams playing their playoffs right now, their cup is spoiling anyone else's chance. We're not making the playoffs. It's been more than apparent since Detroit thumped us 5-2 at home. We haven't won a game when trailing heading into the 3rd. Welp, the season's in the 3rd period and we're trailing. I don't expect the mental fortitude that's been missing all season to suddenly show up now. It's been a season of compounding problems both on the ice and up the ladder. We're in a state of paralysis until somebody, somewhere actually makes a decision. Adding Ritchie and Stecher defines that. There are no hills to climb, no valleys to descend, just a long flat prairie of mediocrity until somehow ownership finally puts a fork in the road.
  23. We have to have players that play at a certain pace. If we get fast players, we'd have to stop being mistake-riddled horrendousness when trying to play uptempo. So we have to make sure we get guys that aren't above average skaters and hope the league ends this nonsensical speed game and bring back clutching and grabbing. I suppose next they'll want us to have fast transitions and a fast-passing PP. It's so unfair. It's actually racialist against guys that can't think the game very quickly, like most of our team.
  24. Down they went to Colgate. But they'll be an invite for the frozen 4 tourney. If they get to the final 4, I'll be absolutely shocked. I think the 6 ranking flatters them. Coronato could opt for his jr year and that would be okay. Don't expect a world beater, I'd guess middle 6 winger.
