  1. My endless love for Dube continues. Tried to use my initial thread from '19 but it's archived. Still just 23 and getting better. I just knew this is a player that Sutter will love. https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/say-what-its-a-good-challenge/c-327652874
  2. We've been watching together. Hence, perspective outside of the Flames fan clergy of opinion. Who's beating up the other team's crease in the whole NHL right now? You play hockey. Are you D? Imagine playing that guy. Always giving you the little jab, the extra little crosscheck, the mouth, the attitude, jamming your goalie, every piece of low-key Satoshi Nakamoto he can do. Now imagine, he's also a massive scoring threat and great passer. If that isn't enough, he's 23. He's still perfecting what he's already the best at in the entire league. Sign me up for that Satoshi Nakamoto.
  3. No. Stop expecting every line to dominate in the offensive zone. Backlund's line is perfect to munch minutes safely. The bottom line the same. Those minutes are as important as the scoreboard minutes.
  4. Maybe some perspective from my ON friends when I rant on Tkachuk. Typical reactions: "What"? "You wanna trade him? Are you DD"? "He's the best guy in the league at that Satoshi Nakamoto." "You can't replace what he does". Due to jr competition, I've always hated him. But my friends and family are right. Having watched a few games pointing out his bad, they showed me his good at what he does. I was overwhelmed. His bro is a Captain and he's a shadow of Matt. Colour me convinced that we hyperbolize the bad and overlook the one-of-a-kind good. Or at least top of the class for that style of game. Everyone wants one. I was kindly reminded of the 40-goal Neal-Hornqvist trade. How I was the only one saying Hornqvist is better because he'll score 20-25 dirty ones. So that was thrown in my face. "Tkachuk will score 30 dirty ones. hahaha, you want him gone hahaha". Great perspective. Alright, him and Johnny, $9 each. Worth it.
  5. We didn't have any depth last year. My mantra has been it was a damn good offseason. We needed depth first. Most went vomit-mode with most additions. I loved the fwd adds. That's great depth. Richardson was fantastic tonight. We needed proven NHL role players. Not Jankowski AHL level throways. You need to give pause to Monahan. Lindholm, Lucic, Lewis, Mangia, Richardson, Gudbranson, Kyl, Pitlick... On and on....Monahan is surrounded by players that "get" adversity. This is the hard to play team I expected. Monahan's a big part of it. All of the adds were great. Bottom 6 is fixed. We wondered how to split Mangia-Dube. Now, because of those adds, they're a new dynamic pairing. One thing's for sure. We sure as h-e-double hockey sticks aren't afraid of A dam Fox.🤠
  6. You'll never see Pitlick do the annoying big sweeping turns. Starts and stops and straight lines. Me likey for a 3rd RW.. I'm a little surprised how slow Coleman is with the puck.
  7. Lewis, Richardson and Pitlick too. Needed players that play the hard parts in games. Want Pitlick to score.
  8. NY cheating 4 in the o-zone, gotta catch them.
  9. Richardson with a couple nice hits tonight.
  10. Anyone catch the Leafs first goal? JFC this league is hard to watch.
  11. Only caught the 1st and lost interest. Wanted the Vladar start to keep starts from getting out of hand. Hated the lines and my hate for Tkachuk was always historically well-placed. I can see a love-hate relationship with Sutter blossoming.
  12. Dallas likes a physical game. This should be a good one.
  13. Well, I was hoping the Ritchie thing would change. Mony could move back to that line, Richardson C the 4th line if Duehr isn't drawing in. That's the only other way that I'm okay with. Sutter did say all 30 guys would play... Something I didn't give much thought to.... the covid thing sure makes me happy we have lots of bodies.
  14. Hard to say, lots of options. Duehr may have arrived late though...
  15. Would be cool for Duehr to win a spot. Great first step speed, decent snipe, can be physical enough.
  16. It is gameday ex-Eichel fans, and this might be good news: https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flames-recall-walker-duehr/c-327564744
  17. The site updated and some are struggling to login. Soooo...haven't lost in regulation in 8?lol
  18. Jankowski? I think there are maybe 3 options. No. No. And No. He's not an NHLer. It's been proven.
  19. Personal message to Ruzicka.lol Please Adam, end my love-hate relationship. As a Sting fan, I loved the Flames drafting you. As a Sting fan, you were non-existent vs Kitchener when we should have run them out of town. You and Kyrou were huge disappointments. He's getting paid now, it's time for you to get paid. Get consistent, you need to lead that Blockchaining team, hands down. Don't break my heart again.lol You can be great in the NHL. You're really good when you aren't floating. Great skaters skate hard every shift. Your faceoffs, size, great hands, great shot. This is how hard it is to make an NHL roster. Don't get down. Get even. Get paid. You aren't a tweener. You have to prove it. Everyone playing in the NHL is getting paid because, to a man, they have a massive chip on their shoulder. For the people that believed in them, for the naysayers. That is every player that reaches the NHL. Do that. Carry it around like a burden. Every shift. You've got this thing man. Wear your heart on your sleeve. Play angry if you have to. All of the time. For everyone that believes in you. We shouldn't have to defend you, you're a better player than Zacha when you wanna be. You have to want it. We need you more than any other player in Stockton right now. Grab the bull by the horns. There's a spot for you. Mangia-Ruzicka-Dube has a great ring to it. Take it.
  20. Should I change the title to "Net Assets"? My biggest beef with BT was always being slack regarding goalies. I guess that's over. Markstrom : 4-1-1; 1.33gaa; .957sv%, 3 SO. That's some god level. Vladar:2-0; 2.94gaa; .891sv% Likely to improve. Dustin Wolf: 2-0-1; 1.65gaa; .951sv% Hello. Adam Werner: 2.51gaa; .906sv% Not bad. Arsenii Sergeev: 4-1; 1.4gaa; .941sv%; 1SO Oh my. I need to see this kid in action. USHL is a great league. He's crushing it.
