  1. I'm not ready to hand Wolf the reins to an NHL spot (starter or backup) just yet. I would be wishful thinking at this time to think the Flames have a capable Goalie tandem without Markstrom

I'm not ready to see a Markstrom trade at this time because that would leave the team without a #1 goaltender.

Vladar has not shown he is a fulltime #1 goaltender and Wolf has not stepped up to claim an NHL spot yet either.

Then again if your true objective is to get a high pick and you need an excuse for the teams poor performance, then trade your #1 goalie and get what you can for him and let the chips fall... as well likely fail in developing another goalie prospect.

The Flames road trip was a 3 wins 1 loss , and why such a good record, simple Markstrom is back to his old form playing outstanding. So what does coaching do for the San Josie game, for goal tending, Lets bring up Wolf from the Wranglers, your playing against the second worst team in the NHL. Well you insulted the Sharks as the night before they played Winnipeg only losing 1-0. This is a Bad call by coaching and management and it makes me think they don't want to earn a playoff position. Wolf looked totally out of place. Were down to 2 months of hockey, each night should be played with disperation attitude.

Interesting take. I agree with some points.

Marky has been super for us and a good part of the reason we we did well on the road trip. However we had a serious offer for him. Maybe we needed to find out if we could get by with Wolf. or needed to find out if Wolf was ready. If he is our future then we better find out right?

Maybe it wasn't as bad a call as you make it out to be.

From that aspect I think we found out who our #1 is and should remain to be. If we are going to make a final push then we know who should be in nets.

This was a terrible loss from the standings view. We were back to within 2 points of a wildcard playoff spot.

We are now 5 games back and 3 teams jumped past us in the standings. While it was only one game it was a huge loss and the schedule only gets tougher for this homestand.

Some practice details that could set the threads ablaze.

Wolf in starter net and Vladar practicing.

It's an optional skate day, but this will get tongues wagging.

    Marky was practicing yesterday.

On the other hand, Wolf was on an Emergency Loan, so it has to be converted to regular or he gets sent down (on paper).

    Line combos are updated.

    Wolf in net.

I get this occasionally.  I think it's something that happens with the gatekeeper software. We should never have to worry about the 5 viewers we have on this site. Maybe some hacking, since I see a lot of spam posts, new threads, etc. It seems like they only get a few posts in, but it bugs me.

Sometimes I think it's related to Chrome browser.

I get back in and others never mention being locked out.

    I'm using Edge mostly..

Chrome seems to me to be bloatware for a couple of years now.

  5. A few things jumped out at me as I read it.

The event centre is defined as between 18,000 and 19,000 seats, and notes the arenas in Detroit, Las Vegas, Edmonton, Columbus and Minnesota as comparable facilities. The budget is set at $873.6 million. The City and CSEC split the first $54 million of costs, then the remaining $819.6 million are the City’s responsibility.

The “scheduled substantial completion date” in this agreement is targeted as Aug. 31, 2026. (Amending the project schedule to change that date is labelled as a “Major Decision.”)......    Case in point: it defines “turnover date” as when they expect to have the building done, and other agreements feed off that date, but since the construction schedule isn’t nailed down quite yet… we don’t have a date.

The agreement does all-but-confirm that the new arena design is essentially updating the old design, making adjustments to the larger lot, larger parking structure, and addition of the community rink, indoor gathering plaza, and LEED certification.
