Now going back to hockey, I only seen half the game and felt they were right there with the Avs.  A couple posts/crossbars would have made the difference.  The team will get some rest and have a good stint of home games now to hopefully help us climb that standings hill one step at at time.

 

 

There is no single thing to blame.  We suck in COL when we are going from low elevation to Denver.

It showed in the early half, but we adjusted and looked better as it went late.

1/2 of the game we were better by a good margin.

2 goals on us scored on mistakes.

The PP goal was giving way too much gap on the entry.

Our PP was sad.  Only the 2nd unit seemed to understand how to use it.

Maybe not the right place, but it doesn't really belong in season predictions.

Flames enter tonight again 2 points back of the 2nd WC spot.

A win would vault them above Seattle at the 22 game point.

Again we are on the cusp, so we need to take advantage of these chances.

What we really need soon is a streak be it short or long but some streak of winning 4-5 games in a row to basically set us up for even a bubble chance for 8th wild card.  Still lots of games left but cannot get behind the 8-ball per say.

The funny thing is that at present pace, the WC2 spot is about 75 points.

It's going to change to closer to 95, but there is nobody consistently winning right now.

The 9-16 place teams are tripping over themselves to win one lose one.

A streak is two wins in a row.

Well now you got me googling it.

"A winning streak, also known as a win streak or hot streak, is an uninterrupted sequence of success in games or competitions, commonly measured by at least 3 wins that are uninterrupted by losses or ties/draws."

I guess we were both wrong!  I'll be happy with two though.

I mean the way the bottom teams and WC teams are playing, a streak is 2 wins.
