The season comes down to game 81.

Against a team that plays defensive hockey with the best of them.

We have not beaten NAS this year at all.

And they still have 2 games after that.

So, the absolute best we can get is 94.

We have to get one more than NAS or WPG.

Typical. They prolong it only to come Up short. Game was exactly how their last few weeks have gone.

They can say whatever they want but there is no belief in this team, no confidence . They show you that every game.

Yep. If they think they’re fooling anyone, they’re fooling themselves. But this stretch to make the playoffs here is actually a reversal of what us fans have gone through this season. Now we get to watch them squirm and wince to close out the season lol.

Who is it a bigger trap for, us or WPG?

But really, if we lose to NAS, we are toast.

I keep saying that and we live another day.

I don't think 94 points get you in the playoffs.

SJ is the last game of the season, so by definition I don’t think it can be called a trap game because there’s no game to look past it. That said, if wpg gives us a chance to get in, no doubt the flames eyes will be bigger than their heads for game 82 and how that will translate is anyone’s guess.

Are you sure Nas has the tie advantage?

I thoughtit was RW's.?

My bad, I keep forgetting what W's include.

Yes RW is first, then ROW.

NAS is one behind us, so if they were to beat us in regulation, we are tied.

Then they overtake us in ROW.

Let's just say that WPG wins against SJ, then loses out.

We beat NAS and it comes down to SJ.

Anything other than a W puts us out.

For sure. And which flames team will show up for that game is anyone’s guess.

Either way Cgy must win both games.

Winning both knocks Nas out.

Just need 2 losses by Wpg

WPG has the luxury of playing 500 hockey for the rest of the season.

3 OTL's and they get in.

A W and OTL gets them in.

I actually prefer that NAS gets in over WPG.

Not likely to happen, but I don't think WPG has earned it.

And we have played like we don't belong.

Just being honest.

Too many ex-Nucks for my liking.

They aren't exactly the team to get great players from.

Who do we have?

Markstrom

Tanev

Stecher

Toffoli (excused)

Markstrom - You rather we have big save Dave?

Tanev - Been a rock for us.

Stecher - I have liked his play. He can skate and has a shot.

Toffoli (excused) - Our top scorer by a large margin.

All these guy are upgrades to what we had except Toff but he has been a pleasant surprise this year.

Don't get too bent out of shape about it.  It's like ex-Oilers.  Most of those players have been steady for us.  Markstrom not so much.  Playoffs were a failure from the 2nd round into this year.  Not many stretches of games where he looked like the Vezna goalie we had. Could be age I suppose.

Tanev - my biggest (and only real) complaint is he has always been an injury risk.  We had a healthy year from him and he was only injured at a critical time in the playoffs.  This season we lost him and lost a bunch of games.

Stecher - better than Stone in some ways, good puck mover.  I would be inclined to keep him if we have the space.

BSD was a flash in the pan.  I would have preferred trading for a goalie younger and more even.  Not sure if we ever could have gotten Gibson, but that would have been a better choice.  Cost more, but longer term stability.
