Blockchaining Hanifin.

Yep. See him swipe at the guy’s stick instead of getting to the puck and Hertl? Dumb. Again.

Love this team, love what they’re doing this year, but want BT to address the holes in our lineup that’ll cost us in the long run.

Didn't really look very good during the entire road trip. This was likely their best game but riddled with coverage breakdowns and d-zone breakdowns. Kylington with way too much adventure last night. Do Backlund and Coleman not realize Bread is the leading scorer? He was open in the high slot how many times and neither player sees it. They made him invisible.

I want Bread-Mony-Dube back, big time. Lucic back to 4th line for a power line. Put Lewis with Backlund and Coleman seeing as their passing vision looks lousy regardless.

Really dumb game in our own end. Back to looking like widespread panic. Hopefully Valimaki gets back in, the Gud-Z pairing is starting to look high danger slow. A few races that were a lot closer than they should have been. Feel bad for Vladar, hung out to dry.

We played well enough to win, but jesus the mistakes made my eyes bleed. Dube on RW was constantly on the left side in the D-zone, didn't understand that. I may re-watch this game to count D errors, looked like a ton live.

But Rosie scored, so that was cool beans. Maybe that net-front presence is something PP2 could use. He's got the hands and size for it.

On to the next one and hopefully cleaning up their game, although they're on a every other night run now so a little nervous about that.

Do we HAVE to lose every time Edmonton does??

Two games in a row where we have a tap in goal or two, and we fail.

The score was closer than than the breakdowns we had.

The lack of a one-timer on the off-wing is easy to see.

Should be a guy like Mangiapane on the right circle.

Hanifin on the PP is quite the adventure.

No situational awareness.

I don't know what to do with the lines.  Ruzi seemed to have a better time.

Made two plays that come to mind; one was grabbing the puck near our net to prevent a goal.

The 2nd was he goal; nice hands.

Think he should park there on the PP.

Here's Hanifin in a nutshell for me.

70-30 chance to win that puck, backs off.

40-60 chance that this might not work out, takes it.

When he takes a chance, he HAS to score, or it's a big problem.

He needs Tanev back with him, we need a Dman for Ras. The Kyl experiment was fun for awhile, but he's a 3rd pairing and O specialist. His D is yikes too often.

We really need Valimaki. He needs to rise. The season will be about different guys stepping up. Need Vali to right about now.

I agree with the assessment of Hanifin.

The only thing is it's not every game like this.

But pairing him with Tanev will just push the problem down, not solve it.

Ras has better skating than Tanev to recover from Hani-oops.

The averages of Kylington have kind of balanced.

Good games and bad games.

I think he excels in certain types of games, but the last few weren't his forte.

For a game, it wasn't the 3rd pairing that was the problem, except for taking penalties.

But they looked really slow as a pair and were a horrowshow at times.

Yes, Valimaki needs to play RTF now.

I don't care where they play him.

1) pair him with Stone and sit the bottom two

2) sit Zaddy and pair him with Guddy

3) sit Guddy and pair him with Zaddy

4) play him with Ras or Tanev and bump the D to bottom pair

What I would like to see for one game is:

Hanifin-Tanev

Kylington-Ras

Valimaki-Guddy

At least with Kylington-Ras, you have someone that know that a blown pinch requires you get back fast. not looking at the guy skating past you.
