This will be fun.  A little early for the thread, but fun to get some rivalry discussion going since there won't be much going on after the draft and FA until camps start.

Calgary is going to own this tourney. :D

I think personally think the Canucks 6th OV will look great.  He should a be man among boys out there.

I mean 4th OV should pretty good too... but 6th OV looks like he'll have the higher ceiling in the long run.

Add in Shtinky and The Hor...  Canucks will go beast mode on their guests.

Remember... YOUR IN OUR vacation HOUSE NOW!

(I think I'm doing it right...)

Canucks 6th overall a man among boys?

I thought that Vancouver was hot for Nylander and/or Ehlers if they can't move up.

And I thought it was Ritchie... And then I thought they wanted the local boy Virtanen... And then....

Let's face it... No Juan actually knows what any team wants out there. It's all 100% speculation..

The only thing we know is... Whoever the Canucks select at 6, will be a man among boys in Penticton. That's obvious.

Tweets re: Poirier from Roger Millions:

If Poirier checks out. He still could skate at training camp. Strong AHL playoff in April. Kid has big potential for #Flames.

Just read in the Herald that Pavlo Padakin was invited to participate in the rookie camp (Young Stars in Penticton). RW who shoots right. 6'1" 185 lbs. He also is up for one of the three spots on the Hitmen for 20 yr olds.

Numbers not overly impressive, but he might be worth a look. Possible depth for the baby Flames.

@SchweizerSilvan reports out of Switzerland that D-Man Raphael Diaz will have a tryout with #Flames at Training Camp. CP had it.

EDIT:

I misread this, thinking it was about the upcoming Young Stars thing.  It looks like it is actually training camp.

What do you guys know of Calgary born Mackenze Stewart?

Dman for Prince Albert

6'3 240, just turned 19...

Ever heard of him locally?  Seems to have an unique background that may of been reported on somewhere along his playing career there...

Stewart has actually defied the odds to make it this far. He was born deaf; only surgeries gave him the ability to hear at 12 years of age.

Well... one things for certain... kids are HUGE these days...

Here's the Jets roster... They seem to be bringing quite of few of their AHL guys.. and a smallish D.
If i get to see one of the games live, it will be the Canucks-Jets game... Hopefully a good glance of Ehlers.

Oilers Announce Roster for 2014 Rookie Camp and Young Stars Classic

http://oilers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=729790&cmpid=rss-release

Don't know if they know how this is supposed to work...  They are bringing 4 skaters born in 1990. And 5 born in 1995 or later.

Flames, Jets, and Canucks combined are bringing: Zero 1990 skaters..

1995 or later:

Canucks: 11 , Jets: 9,  Flames: 7

Sounds like Poirier and Wotherspoon will attend but not play as they are recovering from surgery.  Wolf will also be there but is ineligible to play.  Reinhart is ineligible.  Knight won't be there.  Jankowski, Giles, and Hickey are in school.  Ollas-Mattson is in Sweden.  There are some pretty good prospects on that list.  There are a bunch of others in similar circumstances (Rafikov, Harrison, Gilmour, etc)

Speaks to the Flames depth that we are icing a pretty strong roster despite missing those guys.

So why is Wolf not eligible?  Age?

Also, when does the regular training camp start?
