Contracts, Cap, And Considerations

I love Regehr but he just doesn't fit in the Flames rebuild.  At best he's got a season left in his career.  The injuries are starting to take their toll and he's not the impact player he once was.

There are arguably 15+ UFAs out there better who are than Regehr.

For nostalgia's sake?  For McDavid?  For not trying to win this season?  Okay sure. Otherwise, no reason to get Regehr back.

Agreed, as cool as it might be I'm of the opinion we shouldn't be bringing guys back we've parted ways with, if the rebuild is going to be successful we need to be clear on our identity and grow into the "New & Improved" Calgary Flames, not revisiting ghosts of the past. It sounds harsh but I think it's for the best of the organization going forward.
