flames-fan-911
Eric Roy at 135. Not bad at this point. I like it.
s4xon
isnt that the truth... maybe we are just guarding ourselves to have a shot at McDavid in two years. I wouldn't put it past the Flames to pick the guy after McDavid if they had the first overall pick.
joeyabs
I really like that pick, Kanzig not so much
JTech780
Thought Roy was long gone. Nope Calgary just drafted him.
Flyerfan52
I lost track of who was taken, what about Chase or Lipon ? are they left? Lipon went to the Jets @ 91. The Jets also traded 74 & 134 to the Hawks for Frolik. Not bad.
cross16
That's a good pick at this point in the draft. Upside is there and well worth the risk.
s4xon
Is it just me, but the 5th was a better pick than the 3rd? Kinda @$$ backwards to me.
JTech780
Good size at 6'3". I think there is good upside as well.
cross16
Is it just me, but the 5th was a better pick than the 3rd? Kinda @$$ backwards to me.Most would probably agree with you. Roy was in the 70s on a lot of the media draft boards.Roy is another project dman but unlike previous flames dman picks he has to learn defence and at this point I'd much rather a good offensive guy who needs to taught d. IMO you can work with that and if you do there is a good amount of upside here
joeyabs
Is it just me, but the 5th was a better pick than the 3rd? Kinda @$$ backwards to me. yes its true, lol Klimchuck and Poirer look like they're backwards as well - to me it looks like they evaluate players they are interested in ok, but don't really have a feel for where other teams would take the players - not a great overall strategy, like letting players slide that they're interested in that can be had later in drafts. Seiloff was also ranked very high last year..
JTech780
Now hopefully Avery Peterson next.

TrippinVdUb
From what I have heard, Kanzig is the best non hockey player outside of the NHL

If that's the case, better to pick the guy you want rather than trade back and hope for the off-chance that he might make it to you. It'd be an entirely different scenario if there's a guarantee that he'll be had at 28.
s4xon
Wow, can't even find a hockeydb profile for T. Harrison. Found it, but no stats. Big boy. RW. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=168016
JTech780
Tim Harrison is a 6'3" RW, but that is the only info I can find. Have no idea where he played last year.
Crzydrvr
Tim Harrison at 157. That one's definitely off the beaten track. Apparently already 6'2" last summer, physical and has some scoring ability. This has Weisbrod all over it.
JTech780
He is off to Colgate University next year. I guess he is a high school player. Damn and there goes Avery Peterson to Minnesota.

JTech780
I wonder if Calgary will go back to Stanstead College and take Alex Coulombe in the 7th.

I wouldn't adjust my rankings based on other teams rumors though, montreal had 2 high 2nd round picks to pick Poirer at other than pick 25 I would be very curious to see where they had hunter in "their rankings"
