  1. I’m with ya Conundrumed! I’m pulling for FLA for the cup this year!
  2. Wow. Florida is fun to watch!!! This is hockey!
  3. 😁👍🏻🔥🔥🔥 10 games with FLA. 6 goals, 9 apples, 15pts, +11 and kicking Hash Rate with 29 hits. Love it!
  4. https://thehockeywriters.com/flames-3-draft-picks-that-refused-to-sign-in-calgary/ This is why you bring in an Eichel if there is EVER a chance in a million years. And as of right now, that impossible chance appears possible.
  5. Absolutely RD. I can only guess what's going on, based on my own experiences. As a teacher, there's a saying "all it takes is one bad apple" to alter the dynamic in a classroom, and I'd venture a guess the same holds true for a dressing room / team. In my position, however, you recognize that that "bad apple" is in need of more help and attention in order to get the best out of them. Point is, I've been saying for years now that JH's body language is telling me he's not comfortable or happy here. True or not, it also falls in line with what Snowbear shared with us. He's the talent on the team, there's a lot of pressure that comes with that, and perhaps he's the apple that has soured the group. Then again, it's rarely ever a single entity that is responsible for so much, and for as much as the leadership has done for the team and community, I think a new voice is required in that regard. Earlier in the year, I endorsed Chucky - but given how it's gone for him since the Muzzin incident, I rescind that vote. I don't know if he's fallen "in line" with the current group, or if he's just biding his time waiting for a change in regime, but no matter how you look at it - it was a quiet and ugly year for him. Here's hoping he turns it around, or lands us someone in a trade that can instill some of those bonified leadership qualities this team sorely lacks. Aside from the talent, I like Eichel because he calls it like it is. If he's unhappy, he voices it. Crosby does the same, albeit in a softer way, but still isn't afraid to call out the effort of the team including himself. Chucky tried to put it on himself earlier this season, but it's obvious something happened there. The room is divided.
  6. Some food for thought. This GM assembled a team that also came in 2nd overall in the league a few years ago, and even in that year it was the PLAYERS that took their foot off the gas and got steam-rolled by COL. BT may be heading for the chopping block, but this rests on the players more than anyone else. I'd rather have a less talented player that goes balls-out than a talented player who's effort is half-assed. What we have are many players with character flaws and a poor mindset.
  7. Re: the bolded. Who is this, and what did you do with the real JJgallow? (J/k of course buddy!) Re: the underlined. I couldn’t agree more.
  8. Man oh man... Benny is on fire in FLA! 😁👍🏻 And this thread is the hottest one on the forum!! Ha! Go Benny Go! You know who I’m routing for south of the border! Always knew the kid had it in him, and here’s hoping this organization does a collective “WTF!” And straightens each other out - top to bottom. Makes you really wonder when armchair GMs at home have more insight into player personnel than the organization.
  9. Exactly Rob. They gave him a shot to numb the pain in game 1 vs MTL, he came back, and then he injured it more in game 2 vs MTL.
  10. Will Nesto be on our roster next season? Likely not. So with Hanifin’s injury, I want to see Kyller up here steady. If not to see what we have, then to showcase him to someone else. interesting take Peeps. Hanifin to Buffalo in an Eichel (disc in the neck surgery) trade? 🤜🏻🐴
  11. Hey Pikey, you know I’m a big Bennett fan as well and while I share in the heartbreak, I couldn’t possibly be happier for Benny. He was never going to get a fair shake here, and I’m happy he gets to thrive elsewhere. 👍🏻
  12. Almost had a Hattie tonight too! Damn that paddle on the goal line! Go Benny Go!
  13. Go Benny Go! I now have a reason to watch Panther games. Man they looked good against Tampa eh? Good hockey right there.

All the best to you Ritter! Big fan of yours and dare I say it I hope you win a cup with the leafs! Would love to see you come back though! Kick Hash Rate and take names buddy! BSD! BSD! 👍🏻
  15. All the best to you Sam! Definitely a favorite player of mine on the Flames, and I’ll be following you in Florida. Rip it up buddy! 👍🏻
  16. I wasn't saying not to question it - I was just looking for the reason why it's those 2 at the moment. And don't mistake for one second that Sutter wouldn't healthy scratch Johnny. That's why he called him out for his 500th. I'm certain Sutter would very well sit him. As Pikey said, I agree that those players that aren't part of the core moving forward will get longer leashes - heck, you can't sit the whole team.
  17. I understand what you're saying cross, and although we got a few lucky goals last game I like to think we created our own luck by doing the right things. Was it the ultimate effort and execution last game? No, we've all seen better from this group, but it's nice to see us get rewarded with some bounces by being in the right position on the ice (driving the net in Mange's case, putting it deep - and towards the net - in Bennett's). As for Val and Dubes, I wouldn't sweat it at all. We know they're part of the long term solution here, management knows, Sutter knows, I see it as a non-issue. In fact, there's a lot of growth that can occur when people/players "sit out", have time to reflect, and figure out for themselves what they can do to be better or differently. It's easier to encourage growth in people in their youth than when they're older and set in their ways. Perhaps Sutter is teaching these 2 some lessons that will stick with them throughout their careers here, and in turn they won't repeat what the current leadership group is doing.
  18. Agreed fully for both. Who knows - Sutter has some discovery to do with this group...
  19. Hey guys, my opinion may differ from yours but that’s what debate on these forums are for. It would be a pretty boring place if we all shared the exact same opinion. In fact, that’s exactly what happened here not too long ago when we were almost all on the same page regarding the team and the way Wardo was coaching/scratching players. I sure as H-E-double-hockey-sticks don’t have all the answers, and quite frankly it’s usually posts that have an opposing opinion to mine that remind me of things I’ve forgotten or hadn’t considered along the way. The back and forth is not only informative but entertaining as well. I can say quite candidly that robrob and I have very similar views and ideas, but we also debate our differences of opinion here as well. I also have a lot of respect for JJ here because he’s very firm on his belief as to what this team needs - despite the opposition he receives (even from me) here - he sticks to his guns and makes some valid points and arguments. Quite frankly, we’ve got a lot of passionate flames fans here and I love reading everything from everyone here. I know how most of you feel about my Eichel obsession lately because you’ve responded - good or bad, agree or disagree, it’s all good. This is our team. This is our common ground. We all want this team to win a cup and we all have our opinions about how to get there. It’s all good folks - please keep contributing because I want to hear what you have to say. 🍻
  20. You know I was with you all the way on this Rob. Saw it and called it the exact same way at the time.
  21. You read my mind Peeps 👍🏻 BUFF GM said he’d listen on everything now.
  22. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've been pleasantly surprised with Ritchie, and he does also have the ability to put the puck in the net (got 16 goals with Dallas a few years back). Maybe playing with Mony and JH will re-ignite that ability, and I say it's worth giving it some more time to see if their chemistry grows. JH, by my eye, looks less "scared" out there, and Mony had no problem roughing it up in front of the Oiler net (all by himself) last game. I think It's working right now for the team, and I'd like to see how it progresses. And, as much as I see Leivo progressing with his play, he does create a mismatch for other teams and advantage for us playing on the "4th line". He's a scoring threat there with Ryan and Benny and that may turn out to be very advantageous for us. I am on-board with the idea of trying Ras with Valimaki and Gio with Kyller. Tan-ifin shouldnt be touched - ever.
