  1. He played with Klapka and Honzek, so I wasn't expecting much. Klapka was probably the best on that line. More because he can dominate kids. He's huge. If you wanted a Lucic size body to stand in front of the net or push the forecheck, he might be a good call. Honzek will need to head back to junior. I don't think he's a bust at all, just not really ready yet. One year in NA hockey. Needs more.
  2. There's logic to bring up a player through the AHL, but I would argue that more what you should do with a CHL or USHL bred player. Those league are more about volume of games. Typically, the players that go directly to the NHL are the top players in the league. Very few. With the NCAA, the players tend to be older and have played for a number of years past their junior days. Coronato, though less years in the NCAA, seems like he doesn't need a level a bit higher, but play where you develop chemistry and style with your lines and team. Let's face it, the Flames farm team is not exactly going to wow you this year. They may win a bunch from surprising goaltending or D that create offence, but there are few dynamic players. Don you want Coronato to play with the type we see in the Prospects Tourney? Doesn't seem like many that will feed or be fed. Could really stagnate him.
  3. Oilers expected Lineup: Carter Savoie – Carl Berglund – Xavier Bourgault Matvey Petrov – Jayden Grubbe – Tyler Tullio Brady Stonehouse – Ture Linden – Jake Chiasson Cameron Wright – Jake Sloan – Ethan De Jong / Preston Lounsbury Defence Xavier Bernard – Max Wanner Jake Johnson – Beau Akey Noah Ganske – Nate Misskey / Josh Van Mulligen Goalies Nathan Day Zachary Bowen
  4. Projected Lines: FORWARDS Parker Bell - Rory Kerins - Matt Coronato Sam Honzek - Jaden Lipinski - Adam Klapka Lucas Ciona - Nathan Pilling - William Stromgren Oliver Tulk - Ilya Nikolaev - Mark Duarte DEFENCEMEN Yan Kuznetsov - Etienne Morin Quinn Mantei - Donovan McCoy Jarrod Gourley - Mikael Diotte Tyson Galloway - Charles Cote The Flames ran four defence pairings during practice, this page will be updated during warm-ups GOALTENDERS Connor Murphy Jari Kykkanen
  5. Last year we had more vets and I think Kuz and Poirier were the top D on the team not in the NHL. Then again, this is not the AHL team, just the younger prospects and some AHL contracts. I don't expect Coronato to play AHL. Stromgren may be a looker this year.
  6. I watched him during the Memorial Cup. Thought he was still a bit raw, much like Ferlie Freighttrain was to start. It was a tough final and he couldn't get past the winning team. Lots of giddyup. Didn't much much of the game tonight, lost interest with the poor 1st play.
  7. The school kids have to pay their way, sorta, so they don't often come to these things. At least it used to be that way. I thought it used to be earlier in the summer, not late September. This late though, I don't think they could be here.
  8. Don't know. I just remember big things said about him before the draft. I'm out. No refreshments, so I'm calling it. Post any impressions you have, if you so desire.
  9. 3 games I think. He's earning him money.
  10. Some good play and then some bad stuff. I think he's the typical offensive D, but he will learn that. Took Poirier some time to get there. Right after I typed it, he got burned on the scoring play.
  11. Coronato and Morin standing out. Couple others but don't know the numbers yet. I think Coronato is poised to break out. Just a feeling. Not another Francis (call out to JJ)
  12. Good sequence in that goal. SOme really ugly line coverage, but liked the push back. Refs missed at least one more blatant than the hooking call on Klapka.
  13. 3 shots, one goal. Is Markstrom in nets?
  14. I should have said I'm not impressed with the play in this game, not watching jr players. Funny, Weegar first sees a horse. LOL
  15. I usually don't pay much attention to these games. Not impressed but whatever, need to work as a team first then try to be the man.
  16. I must have been a minute behind you
  17. I hate to see the shot clock. 18 - 1. Seems about right
  18. TG that I like older vehicles. My 84 CRX and 03 Trailblazer. Vehicles I can fix without using quantum conmputing or linking to a satelite. Me wife likes new vehicles, but I am reluctant to get one you need to "log on" to use. LOL
  19. My days of bothering with tech are mostly behind me. Too many years of IT, so I just go to whatever is easiest for me. Things used to be such a struggle, now I just search and pick up whatever is easy, or go to my fave Ruskie site. They used to have some weird adds. But the coverage was NHL centre Ice and HD quality. That was after another streamer got shut down.
  20. I have no issue with it, except for the first couple of clicks. Using Chrome, I don't worry about hacks. Anyway, I rarely watch them unless no access on TV, if no U Tube. Sometimes the last week of the season, I watch the end of a game or OT. Other than the 5% tax, Flames hockey is a good reason to live in AB. Always on TV. Never forced to watch Coilers. Don't think I missed any regular season games when I wanted to watch them.
  21. Yup, that's my source. Better than Ruskie ones with weird popups
  22. Gone are the days when you had to watch a game on a small computer screen. Just cast to Roku TV.
