Shut up with the Bouch bomb crap.
Save that for a n Oiler broadcast Louie.
-
Friendly fire on Hyman.
Douche Bomb.
-
Some pretty weak calls in this game.
All by one of the Oiler penalties were easy calls.
Only one of the Flames penalties were real ones.
-
That's weird, it looked like they were calling the Oilers, but it ended up being us?

Our PP has been pretty exciting to watch lately - I must say. Just was pointing out maybe we can steal that McDavid PP move as well. Govi just stepped right into that one timer and got everything on a wobbling puck.
It's been far better the last 4 games.

Or keep the shot low. Pad level or just above. Make him kick out a juicy rebound if he makes the save.
Yes, I was thinking that as well.
But we never use the other player to fake out the goalie.
Look at the other palyer and shoot.
Goalie has no idea.
-
We gotta be smarter on the 2 on 1's.
We shoot every time now, and it's what the goalie is expecting.
Never even fake the pass.

Drai is a good player. I’m not sure how he holds on to the puck so well with those twigs for legs and calves, but, he benefits so much from playing with McJesus… I’d really like to see what he’s made of playing without him. My bet is the McDavid bump is significant. I don’t think he can carry his own line.
He turns his body so the puck is completely away from the defender.
People give him too much respectr.
You can just bump him and he has no response.

Not that I’ve seen! Sounds delicious to me! I will be heading to NS again this summer (we visit family there annually) so it will definitely be on my radar! 🤤I've only ever seen them on the menus at the mom & pop donair/pizza places.
I like making them because when I get a large donair, there is too much meat to finish.
I just pick off some pieces and freeze them until I make them.
Gotta have the donair sauce to go with it.
I don't make it myself but it's stupid easy to make.

Right-o TD.
Edmonton has a pretty good PP. we should take some notes. McJesus does this loop thing all the time to go almost out of zone and drive toward the net taking a pass with speed. It forces defenders to move and pulls them out of position to open up passing lanes for one timers. Like DressIdol and Bouch-burger.The zone D has issues with McD's puck-hogginess. He goes in and out of the coverage zones.
BTW, I'm making donair egg-rolls. Do they seel those in Tranna?
I know you can get them in Nova Scotia, but they are bloodly expensive.
Pretty easy to make.
Just use leftover donair (if you have such a thing) and egg roll wraps.

Marky needs to focus on the game. He gave one to Hyman, Hyman gave him one back, move on.
Liking the flames play. Looks like the Oil aren’t used to the speed the flames are playing with. Oil like to put their opponents on their heels… the Oil D can’t defend speed themselves. That was a fun period!
He was busy hacking Hyman instead of watching Nuge. Everyone on the ice knew it was going to Draibaby.
This period was much like the play we had when we beat the crap out of them.
Only thing missing was finishing on the early chance.

Yeah, but you gotta start at some point. The experience is worth more regardless of the result.
Marky's first start this season against EDM?
I was forgetting that one, only because it was a fake stadium game, in a "neutral" location.

Would be a good growth experience for Wolf to have started.
Also get Coronato some PP time alteady.
They haven't given Markstrom many (if any) starts against the Oilers this year.
I don't think you grow a ton playing against the Oilers when they likely get 5 PP's.
-
The shot clock on SN is off.
Three times it went to 6, then went back to 5.
Maybe they called back the shots, but it seemed like real shots taken.
-
We are forcing the Oilers to do things they aren't used to.
When they take a bunch of penalties, they don't win that often.
That said, we have been all over the map on the two PP's so far.
-
Backlund on a 2 on 1 and he passes off when he has a clear view of the net.
Nothing happens because Sharky was not close to being open.

Just call it 8th. The NHL is pretty predictable.
If we end up 8th, we get passed by the 9th place team with a unlikely lotto win.
There are teams that never win lotto picks.
The year Lafrenier went 1st, NY was 16th and ended up 1st.
If the odds were that unlikely for a team out of the top 5 to win, how did they?
Not really serious. I hope we geta good player at 8.

5th is within striking distance but I think we run out of runway. ARZ has 6-games remaining and 4 points back. If they finish 3-3 then the Flames have to go 0-6-1 which is unlikely.
Same can be said about 6 and 7th held by OTT and MTL. We need them to go 3-3 and Flames only win 1 more the rest of the way.
8th is probably the highest
We are well below 500 in that 10.
Ottawa and MTL both at exactly 500
Zona is 6-4-0 last 10.
It's too hard to say how they play the remaining games.
All of those teams of capable of beating any NHL team.

I agree with that. They need to hold everyone to that standard. While he called out vets, I think it means more if vets get sat too.I mean it's quite possible that the coach knows a lot more about what the players are doing than us casual observers. For instance, Huberdeau could suck in a game but he is still giving 100%. When Weegar is talking about floaters, I honestly have no idea who he means. Guys that won't block a shot (Backlund)? Guys that avoid hits? No idea.

Great call on Musty. He put up good numbers this season. He still looks like an offensive zone player only but he gets the job done in that regard.
I wanted Ritchie because RHS C with size.
Honzek needs to stay healthy next season. He's playing with Wranglers hopefully or is he still too young? He's not 20 until November.
Honzek was a player picked in range of when we picked, so it was a safe pick if you like.
I think there were better choices than a LW, though I think Connie suggested he was a C.
If all that is available at our turn is a LHS LW, then I would look elsewhere.
Trade down a spot or two, and still get the best avaiable RW/C/D.
Honzek can play because in the AHL of the November birthday.
I think we get a very good pick wherever we finish. SEA and BUFF pulling away from us.
I don't think it matters if OTT or MTL passes us, because one of them will win the lotto.

The problem with taking guys off lines they've had most success on is they might not replicate it with other teammates...
What Huska said about Zary is appropriate. He said young guys don't deserve to play if they aren't playing at their best. He quoted Weegar's comments about showing up. The only issue I have with that is that some of the vets are in that boat but never get sat. Zary maybe deserved to sit, though I thought he was no worse than his linemates that last game.

I don't know the stories of the other players nominated, but at quick glance it was players that were injured, or had a long road to the NHL. Hrumph. There are guys deserving no doubt. Maybe Kylington doesn't match all the qualities necessary, but he is certainly a shining example of what tolls the sport can take on a person and what it might take to make it back. I personally think it's the kind of story that the NHL needs to show at this point. Fighting, scandals, rapists (suspected), CTE, player gambling, player douchebaggness; nice to have positive stuff for a change.

Every time I get close in points to Rocket he seems to catapult to a big lead. If I would have stuck with just 2 or 3 trades after the draft this year i would probably be leading. But what fun is that, I enjoy moving players in and out of my lineup. Gives me my own little game within a game. I would be proud to come in second to Rocket but will be giving it my damnest till the end of the season.
I didn't pay attention to the post draft available players. At the time, I had a couple of players I really didn't want and had at least one on IR. You have to round out your lineup early on for sure. But adding a player as they start to break out is a good thing too. Sometimes I held on to a player too long, other times I gave up too early.
The biggest mistakes I made was adding and dropping players based on schedule. There were a few weeks that I had all players on the same night, then nothing the next day. That's okay for a short time, but you have to look farther ahead. A short term fix sometimes made it worse.
It's fun to add and drop, but usually I added and dropped at the wrong time.

Morrissey braced himself with his stick and the stick snapped in half. He probably broke Pospisil's arm looking at how fast Morrissey got up but Pospisil stayed down. Pretty sure the stick took most of the impact.
That said, elbow/chickenwing still came up and contact was made to the head. Skates off the ice. It could've been much worse. Morrissey could've been stretchered off.
I know it was a late game, but you would think there would already be discussion about suspensions.
Have seen none.
