  1. The game appears closer than what the shots suggest.
  2. That was a weak holding the stick call. 90% of the time they let that go
  3. Shots are low so far. A lot of chippy play, not really a lot of skill on display so far.
  4. I don;t think we played our only other home game badly. It was a loss in OT. A little sloppy with the giveaways, but 45 shots
  5. I just want him to be invisible for 90% of the game and only show up in highlight reel hits. Make solid plays. Clear out the crease. Block a shot perhaps.
  6. It happen so rarely, not more times than not. I'm not sure why you are saying we lost a pick. He's in his 1st year of college, so we have 3-4 years to sign him as the team holding his rights. I lnow you are sensitive to this, but I was just having fun about ssuggesting he might go UFA. He said he wants to play for the team. I have no reason to doubt him. It's also not like we had Dougie Hamilton and Brodie in the top RD spots. We have no RHS in the top 6 for RW. He could have a spot tomorrow if he was ready to play in the NHL. Assuming he was ready and that good.
  7. Everytime I say Monahan for 1st goal it's Mangiapane or Lindholm or Gaudreau. So, I went with Mangiapane so it would be Monahan. Twisted logic.
  8. Well actually Sutter thought it was a good game against PITTS, better than the game against NJ. I could have it backwards but I thought he said it was better than last game (NJ). It's so funny listening to his pressers. 5 words or less answers. Said that winning isn't what makes a good game. Said Zadorov was in, but he might dress 8 D. Said you play well you stay in, you play poorly you sit. I suppose it is possible that Valimaki is a healthy scratch in advance of a trade.
  9. Staying the full college career and becoming a free agent. What Fox would have done had he not been traded to the team he wanted to sign with.
  10. ESPN knows nothing about hockey. They have a couple of hockey minds, but this list is a joke.
  11. Good to see Hanifin back in, but a little disappointed that Valimaki sits. Such will be the case with depth. Sutter suggested that the guys playing are the ones that played well, so Valimaki must not have played well. At least they didn't disturb the pairs that have worked so far. Philly is both a fast team and a big team, so we shall see if Zadorov can handle it. No other changes to lines its seems. It will be a goalie battle tonight. Hart had a good performance against EDM, but he is beatable. Get to him early. First goal tonight - Mangiapane. Total shots in 1st = 21.
  12. I mean it is ECAC, but that is fantastic. How many goals has Walstedt got so far? 😀 It will be interesting watching his season develop. And watching the anxiety of some about him choosing to go UFA.
  13. I didn't think thye had to use an import spot on a NA player.
  14. That's a somewhat good sign. Perhaps they can do the same with Kuz, who really isn;t getting the minutes. Maybe this also means that Zary is getting close. Hope so, there hasn't been any news about it.
  15. If this was any other industry, I would suspect anyone at that meeting would be subject to discipline. But, let's face it this has more to do with lawyers limiting liability. 11 years ago and he's finally owning up to being part of a meeting? No better effort than Q.
  16. Good that he doesn't accept a win as being the only result that's important. No, he doesn't need to complain about it, but work on the parts of the game that get away from us. The PK has been solid. The PP is a work in progress. Nice to see some things different being tried. Alternate the bump back to other things. JH is not the only guy that can gain the zone. Everyone is looking for him to carry it. If we have both Monahan and Tkachuk as net-front presence, the point guy only is not going to have many shot lanes. Perhaps Tkachuk should be on the 2nd unit so that we have more options for shots. Maybe think about Coleman on the 1st unit. Anyway, that's something that can evolve. Work in progress. A lot of the D-zone time last night happened due to not getting the puck out cleanly. We get the puck and it's not cleared; rinse and repeat. Some of it was relentless forechecking by the other team. Some was a whiffed pass. The good things I saw were the D talking to the goalie so there was no confusion.
  17. Well, Chevy got off scott free. As an AGM that attended the one meeting, he did not have sufficient influence to do anything? Okay. This isn't a witch hunt, but come on. Be better.
  18. The kids have really stepped up this year. Valimaki and Kylington are just so steady. I was surprised that Kyl got PP time. Not enough trust yet for the PK, but it's a start. Over 2 minutes. If I'm not mistaken, Kyl was on the top unit? Might just have been the end of the other unit but it seemed to be that way. If so, then I would give it another game. The top PP is not quite set with the LD out there. Good to see him get a couple of apples tonight. Primary assist on Coleman's and secondary on Dubbs.
  19. Have to think that Chevy may be done too. He resigned but had to at least take responsibility. Bettman said that if he comes back at some point, he needs to meet with Bettman in advance. Has 3 years left in his contract, so U don;t think he would be allowed back before then, if at all.
