I'm really trying hard to understand why Richardson is playing right now. Am I missing all of his great play away from the puck? I see a lot of him falling down or bobbling a pass. Or going off side. Not really sure how well he can play on LW. I have zero problem with Lewis. He works on every shift and gets shots away. The extra F we have up now is Froese. Another RHS F. Plays mostly C. Perhaps he could play RW if Lewis or Dube sat.

Couple of moves today: Ritchie moved to IR for cap reasons. Valimaki sent to AHL, ending his "emergency" callup when Kylington missed the practice. Froese recalled as the extra body F. Same line today as the SJ game. Maybe they really should think about using Froese over Richardson; it's not like he's taking draws. As it is, 4th line has 2 RHS on the wings and a LHS C.

Can't push Richardson any further down, other than a healthy scratch. Some things I liked about the lines and some things I hated: Like Ruzicka played a decent game at C. Him and Lewis were not a problem. Monahan with Dube at RW was alright. Lucic was decent for possession. Mangiapane is a constant threat to score. Dislike Richardson is holding the team back; little chances happen with him on the ice. Lucic was staring at an open net and chipped it over the crossbar. We are at least one winger away from having a good team, evident when Lucic plays on a 3rd line. I would like to bring in a farm hand to play with Backlund and Mangiapane; one that can pass. Bumps Coleman to Monahan and Dube's line. 4th line can be 3 of Ruzicka, Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie, Richardson. Only reason why Ruzicka isn't in middle 6 is because we have three better C's.

I agree with the assessment of Hanifin. The only thing is it's not every game like this. But pairing him with Tanev will just push the problem down, not solve it. Ras has better skating than Tanev to recover from Hani-oops. The averages of Kylington have kind of balanced. Good games and bad games. I think he excels in certain types of games, but the last few weren't his forte. For a game, it wasn't the 3rd pairing that was the problem, except for taking penalties. But they looked really slow as a pair and were a horrowshow at times. Yes, Valimaki needs to play RTF now. I don't care where they play him. 1) pair him with Stone and sit the bottom two 2) sit Zaddy and pair him with Guddy 3) sit Guddy and pair him with Zaddy 4) play him with Ras or Tanev and bump the D to bottom pair What I would like to see for one game is: Hanifin-Tanev Kylington-Ras Valimaki-Guddy At least with Kylington-Ras, you have someone that know that a blown pinch requires you get back fast. not looking at the guy skating past you.

Two games in a row where we have a tap in goal or two, and we fail. The score was closer than than the breakdowns we had. The lack of a one-timer on the off-wing is easy to see. Should be a guy like Mangiapane on the right circle. Hanifin on the PP is quite the adventure. No situational awareness. I don't know what to do with the lines. Ruzi seemed to have a better time. Made two plays that come to mind; one was grabbing the puck near our net to prevent a goal. The 2nd was he goal; nice hands. Think he should park there on the PP.

Yes, they creep back in at times. Overall, I have seen more lapses from the so-called top 2 guy. He's been in the NHL for a long long long long time.
