Nobody is disputing the need for a change. It was obvious for the last month. The problem is that he rewards the negative and penalizes the mostly positive. Did Dube have a bad game? Debatable. The entire line stood out as ineffective. Did Huberdeau and Kadri blow? No debate there. If the 4th line was without fault, why is Duehr missing? Some recent history for you. Lucic was on the ice for the game tying goals against the Leafs. We only had one for the entiore game. He was on for the first BOS goal against. BOS only had 5 shots the entire first period. This isn't a hate Lucic post. It's a joke that two players that have done a lot to help win games sit. And a top 3 player who has already reached a career milestone for points in a season goes to 4th line.

Losing Weegar was a big hit. Losing Huberdeau impacted more than just goals for. It's a long term win for each team IMHO.

I don't think the goal thing was a huge thing in his mind. It does make you wonder what goes on in the room. Yeah, it's just one step. But it was huge for the team. When JH and his wife were looking to buy (and sign), COVID was still a thing. Remember how much a fuss his mom made about finally getting there? Nothing was over in Canada at that point in 2022, just some relaxing of rules and the possible threat of it all coming back. That had to be huge is their minds. It doesn't matter how many picks we have, we should be picking where we are or higher. I have no issue with Pelletier or Coronato. They were the best when we picked and both are NHL players in future. I am really just negative about the lines (coach), the line usage (coach), and the players not given a sniff (coach).

It's an embarasing way to run a team. The league should step in. Circumvention again. Would not be surprised to see them penalized their 1st round pick. Also wouldn't be surprised if they get caught doing the same things again.

All I can say is I don't want top see us move down. Up is fine. Trading to move up in the 2nd or get a 3rd is ok, as long as we have targets in front of us. But first and foremost, whatever drafting we do, I want to know that we have a coaching plan in place. The present one is more about immediate results, so hands off buddy. Do I think he's done a good job with prospects? A resounding no. Messed up Valimaki and Mackey, even if you feel they weren't NHL ready. Messed up Ruzicka, even if you feel he didn't pull his weight. At worst, he was the 10th worst player in a lineup. Pelletier is being messed up due to not having a clue how to use him. He fits Kadri like a hole in the head. The only reason he's in the top 6 is because Lucic was so bad in the top 6. Yeah, he showed sparks, but he could play anywhere and do that.
