  1. Bingo.lol Turn the page, new old blood with fingers running all through the hockey world, particularly tuned right in on young players. Highly respected. edit Multiple daily London - Calgary flights, hour drive to Oil Springs.lol It's not that far!! edit2 Can stand up to ownership effectively.
  2. Yikes. I prefer the guy the Leafs took Dubas instead of. He even won a cup with us. Lived beside my uncle, lives beside my cousin.lol
  3. Excellent skater and vision as well, great hands, high IQ reading what's transpiring. I'll be surprised if he gets passed 10. He's got a pretty big O toolbox, and within this draft class a lot of his various skills are high end. Not great defensively, but the O skills are dynamic. I have him at 8th, before Leonard and Dvorsky.
  4. I feel like Danielson is a “safe” pick. Also, besides the NHL, in his D+1 year. Why is Ritchie a reach? Are we playing the short tourney on big ice game again? The difference between the 2 is negligible. I see SN has us landing at Sale in their mock. I can get with that. That’s a steal, doubt he’s there. edit Simashev isn't a reach either. Or Heidt, Musty, Stenberg, Honzek, Willander, Cristall. You're painting yourself into a corner on Danielson and Yager, there are arguments against them as much as the rest. I believe you're being WHL-centric. I remember when GM Sutter had the notion it's a "tougher" league, which is entirely incorrect. ps: let's hire Mark Hunter to GM. That's our best option imho.
  5. So can Barlow fall to 16 or should we just take Ritchie/Yager/Cristall...or should we jump all over Simashev for a king-sized talented young D?
  6. Adin Hill FORCED in.lol Didn't realize injury had him not seeing much time. I kind of overlooked the NYI pick(DET) is at 18. If FLA beats the Leafs out, it moves up to 17thoa. 9th and 17th. Not too shabby!! Then 41, 42 & 43. Should be some solid adds, or capital to move up.
  7. I guess we'll see D+3 who the better RHC was.
  8. "The lottery prevents teams from tanking".lol Sell off every decent piece you have, start an AHL roster. Yeah...the lottery really works./s Useless.
  9. @robrob74 is way closer to fair though if the idea is parity. If a team that finished 16th-24th gets to draft 1oa that would about put the nail in the coffin of the NHL for me. Between gambling being rammed down everyone's throats, jersey and board adds, the league is a whore. The officiating and DoPS need a complete overhaul. I don't believe the lottery is fixed, but here's what gets me wild: ARI: unofficial player workouts = lose your 1st draft pick NJ: illegal contract that was legal at the time: lose a 1st draft pick CHI: Destroy a young player's life via staffing a sexual predator, cover it up: Win the draft lottery It's becoming as bad as the other 3 NA sports leagues that I gave up on years ago. I love the sports, just can't be bothered with the pro leagues. *end rant It's official, we have no idea who will be available at 16. Will there be another Aatu Raty in this draft that goes into freefall? I know bpa is a fun little unrealistic catchphrase, but no one really knows who the bpa is as has been established by redrafts. Would you rather a safe floor or high end potential? That is the difference between Danielson and Yager that some seem stuck on. I'll be a little surprised if both aren't there.
  10. But only the bottom 4-6 teams. Not 16. 16's a ridiculous number of teams and 30-40pt differences in standings.
  11. No, indefinite. No transfer agreement with the KHL.
  12. If he's drafted, he stays proprietary to that team.
  13. I don't trust the NHL as far as I can throw them.
  14. From '17-22, the odds of the Wings never winning 1, 2 or 3 in the lottery is 15.6%. The chances of them moving down a total of 8 spots in that time, which they did, is 5.8%. Blockchain the lottery and the Bettman that it rode in on. I would rather teams lose for it than the NHL run a "lottery".
  15. I caught that too. I was like, "what"???
  16. I want ARI just to keep driving this point into the NHL office. "There's your big marketing score, playing for 5,000". But I'd also like to see Keller get loaded up. He's so underrated. Him, Bedard, Cooley, Maccelli, Guenther, Aku Raty would be fun to watch. And the Ritchie brothers of course...
  17. Who do you want to get Bedard? I want Arizona (if not Detroit).
  18. Depends what you value. Me wanting a goalscorer at 6 so Barlow has the most complete toolbox/physicality for that, while still being good defensively.
  19. Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson, Smith....I'd have to go Barlow. I just think he's the best goalscorer available that doesn't have anything serious for red flags in abilities/doesn't cheat D to pump stats. Just my opinion. I want a bonafide goal scorer.
  20. Barkov was 2oa, Lindholm 5th in the same draft. If you're making handedness a component...well, oops. Still a solid C mind you.
  21. Well we're 16th, so I wouldn't complain about 6th for free.
  22. Handedness means little. Would you pick Lindholm over Barkov due to handedness?
  23. Left to choose from 2 potentially better options in Barlow and Wood? I'm all for it. Can't see it happening.
  24. Then a late 1st and inconsequential minor isn't worth it at the draft. That could turn into trading him for nothing.
