  1. I'm behind the city too. Just came to say, holy Satoshi Nakamoto, it's cross. So great to see you! Pretty sure I speak for everyone in that regard. Hope you're well.:)
  2. I feel bad for the scouts, They actually have to scout now. A small tourney would have been much more convenient.
  3. Not into all of the shoulda woulda coulda talk. Too many opinions. Is what is. Felt bad for the new IIHF prez having to take MacKenzie and Duthie's halftard questions though. So I'll let 2 of my faves express my thoughts on the matter in song. Because song is fun.
  4. Cale's isn't either. It's more like a favour. Funny how no one says, "generational talent" about Makar because he's a dman. He clearly is, and that's way harder for a dman, has the puck way more than a forward. Nothing will shock me about him anymore. He's unbelievable. Damn Avs. I don't even know what I'd use as a comparable to Makar. Is it only Bobby Orr? *edit damn Philly, Jersey, Dallas, that miss is devastating from the 17 draft.
  5. And of course the Avs took the younger Makar in the 7th.lol
  6. Red Savage. Of course the D took him 4th rd. USNDT is right in their backyard.
  7. We have 1 prospect playing SHL(borderline) in Stromgren. But the SHL is a goldmine of talent. Do we not have enough eyes in Scandinavia? We seem awfully blind to Sweden and Finland yet there is a wealth of great players there. At first glance, it seems we don't have enough eyes on the talent there. And it's Scandinavia. Exact same climate/attitudes as Canada. It would only make sense. Perhaps the scouts get a different directive there on what to look for. But other teams are way ahead of us scouting there, imho. Great skaters bigger ice. CHL is a lot choppier hockey. The NHL is only getting faster.
  8. Well this is painful...isn't Carolina also the best team in the NHL already? https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/ten-canes-prospects-selected-for-world-juniors/c-329026052
  9. As much as I don't put much stock in this tournament for draft rankings, is it fair to look at drafted players and rate our scouting? Not sure it is. But when I do, it doesn't look great. Mind you Kuznetsov SHOULD be on Russia, but they got weird about their NA stock. Garand is interesting. Canada's #1 G, we took Chechelev before him. But in fairness, can see this in a bunch of teams. Detroit C Niederbach is interesting playing for Sweden. We took Kuznetzov just before him. Same draft we took Boltmann at 80. Fla took Canada RW Sourdif, who has been near a ppg RW in the dub since 16. Not jumping to conclusions, but am I being fair?
  10. Hearing some wayward thoughts that Shane Wright should be lighting up the tourney. I figured Power, McTavish and Perfetti would, personally. Wright will stand out more as the competition increases, but it's still the 3 I mentioned that are actually the leaders. Detroit D prospect Sebrango is really impressing me too. Scary that he's around 3-4 on their D prospect list.
  11. A couple Fs out of the lineup, move Bedard up and voila!
  12. Your hilarious. I fell into the deep end of the pool once when I was a little non-swimmer person. It was terrifying. So I know what you mean.
  13. Neiderbach from Sweden is fun. Detroit C prospect acquired from that "are you kidding me for Mantha"? trade. Vrana will be back soon. Anyone remember him while Detroit has been surprising? Low key in the D. So fun to watch.
  14. JC. You're messed.lol You and your rabbit holes. Be a coyote.lol
  15. Sadly, I think our lads really needed this break. It really makes me go back to Sutter's words with 30 guys left in camp. "They'll all be Flames this year". The schedule (at least with my bias) has been pretty close to relentless. I like lots of games right out of the gate to get your game together, but I honestly think this was way too much for most teams/players. Completely over-the-top. The Olympics are just a really bad idea, or cut 10 games off of schedules. I'm glad we have a really experienced coach to see the sked and go, JFC, keep prospects on standby. And he knows he needs Gudbranson's and Zadorov's. I'd go out on a limb and say that he's actually protecting Valimaki's development from this bs schedule. So let's reset and get back to kicking the Satoshi Nakamoto out of everyone. Sadly, the cup team has become, "who can circumvent the cap best"? Just like over-coaching 3-on-3 OT into ruins.
  16. I mean jr. We're always at a disadvantage in U17-U18 tourneys because we send 4 teams to everyone else's one. Not kidding. There isn't really an "A" team perse, just all of the talent spread through 4 teams. It's kinda hilarious how we are an extreme superpower. Gold or it's a failure. Any other country, "we didn't medal, but we beat Canada in the QF". That's gold for them.
  17. Duthie & Mackenie..."Canada will have to work things out before the AUSTRIA game". Yeah, okay. 'Canada
  18. Our B team Silver, playing for bronze. We should always ask for 4 teams and hope for 2.
  19. I'm expecting Canada to be devastating. The heads rankings are: Canada USA Finland Sweden Russia I'm calling bullSatoshi Nakamoto. It's Canada, Finland, Sweden, USA, Russia. Canada devastates everyone.
  20. I think it's easy personally. Manage what you want. Your scouts get your direction, and that's pretty much it. What I see, is the difference in Yzerman and Sakic vs, even a Doug Armstrong is a whole other thing....like Eichel. BT needs to pick a fight and win it. I'd love that for him.
  21. Not bad. They had him 1st line and 1st PP with Beniers, so they see him as a scorer. He played the slot a lot but they weren't getting pucks to him? Should be a good tourney for him. The US will be a D first team and struggle to score maybe. They'll need him to snipe. Canada looks scary. Like, really scary. Top 2 lines are monster. Cossa looked like garbage to flatter the Russians on the scoreboard.
  22. Should get a look at Coronato today at noon. US vs Finland. TSN5
