  1. Good call. 4 guys to hit 25-30 goals, getting scoring from the D. Still physical. So much to like.
  2. I'm guessing Tronny will have interst seeing as they have zero size on the backend.
  3. Looks like you can't wipe the smile off Toffoli's face, and Looch's wife already saying, "I'm picking you up at the airport". This is starting to sound like a crazy good add.
  4. Same. I didn't really know that about Toffoli. Markstrom also saying that he's excellent in the D zone and very sound positionally.
  5. Nice. Interesting in the interviews is the common consent about how good he is defensively. Should be a great fit.
  6. I disagree. Lucic and Lewis are good for Rizicka's growth on the 4th line.
  7. The move makes a lot of sense in that he's a good player and strong connections here. He can play both sides well so it's all about having better options with the fwd roster. I'm all about different looks and being able to play various styles effectively so he helps with that. I wasn't huge on getting him, but I can see why it makes sense. BT has done a really good job of managing our depth this year seeing this season was always going to be attached to covid.crap. Now I just need to hear Sutter's thoughts.lol
  8. Toffoli must be jacked out of his mind to get away from that trainwreck.
  9. Was just mentioning this morn wondering who would be 1st to open the trade box. Here we are. This is a pretty good trade, we didn't really lose much. The 1st is likely to be in the 20's and we didn't give up a top prospect. I'll be patient and see what Toffoli adds here. Gets Ritchie bumped, so should be an improvement.
  10. Same. I think we need to consider Pelletier with Dube and Monahan. Dube has no one to skate with. Pelletier's a very good skater. Sutter wants pace, I'd assume that fits. Removes size, but not D awareness. The coaches undoubtedly know this, but we're winning so I think it's just a waiting game now. We're doing well and we're still holding a few cards. Who'da thunk?lol
  11. Darn it, I've been telling myself to stop ragging on Ritchie. Positivity. Ritchie is going to score some massive goals for us, let's stick with him:)
  12. He spends A LOT of time telling everyone we aren't a champion-caliber team. He started Vladar back-to-back TBay and Carolina. Imo, he is hiding his hand and downplaying everything. Ruzicka's post game: I think we've found ourselves a center. Time to find out if we have a 3LW on the farm and move Dube to RW. I want this 4th line. Figure out the 3rd line without breaking up the 4th. Lewis and Lucic are perfect for growing Ruzicka's game. Sutter's post-game comment, "if 1 guy isn't going, that affects 3 guys on the line". That has Ritchie written all over it.
  13. This is getting scary. There was one game in early '04 where we blew an elite Sens team out. It was that holy Satoshi Nakamoto moment where you realize Satoshi Nakamoto is getting real. Much to my pleasure and wonder this year, this Satoshi Nakamoto is getting real. We're a contender. Sutter's been filthy. He threw the Florida & N.Carolina games. He did. I don't know what else to say. Start Vladar. He's playing possum to the elite teams. "we don't have to worry about them, teams in the east do". I think it was a, "lose don't care, just study how they play". I keep saying, he's crazy like a fox. If you want to call me out, who gets Coleman, Gudbranson, Zadorov, Lewis, Richardson, Pitlick and makes it a thing? The "unfinished business" is looking a ton like honest words. There's a kinda magic going on here.
  14. And a goal and an assist. Settling in. Great to see and he should be great at the dot. Proud of him tonight. He'll get better now I think that he's found his place. Great add for us.
  15. Sorry I missed the thread tonight. Leafs lose, Flames crushing it AGAIN. Sutter's building his masterpiece. This is unreal to watch. There is superfun, and then there's this. Unreal. Don't wake me up.lol
  16. Yup. This thread is pretty much homage to that one. My own negative attitude hit rock bottom seeing nothing but negativity regarding BT's offseason moves so I needed the George Costanza do everything opposite.lol Now, the Flames look great, I'm dating Keira Knightley and I made a fortune mining bitcoin. Oh, wait. The Flames look great. I'm still waiting on the other 2.
  17. 5 in a row, 8-2 in the last 10. Let's keep this ball rolling. I only started this thread because I exhausted myself pissing and moaning. Unbelievably, really, it's worked. We are shocking everyone (except Torts, lol). Let's run and get taken seriously. Come what may.
  18. Guessing the Isles will be none too happy with their result last night, hpefully we get hopping out of the gate and they become another team that we grind down and run out our house.
  19. At any rate this season has been way more superfun than expected.
  20. I can't really agree with your assessment. Kase was trying to poke it around Zadorov and beat him to Kase's left. He had safe space on his right. But it's Kase. He could have poked the puck and darted right. I'm pretty sure 99% of NHL players can avoid that much impact. Kase can't. It wasn't a board hit. Kase played risk and lost. Call it what it is. A huge hit on a player that always plays risk. Why do we want to protect that with more rules to protect stupidity? I get the head injury part, but this isn't dirty, it's not on the boards, it's not a blindside. It's a player that tends to love risk, and loses at it a lot. My question is that if this is unacceptable, how deep is this new rabbithole? It's already close to unwatchable due to erroneous reffing and erroneous challenge rules.
  21. Full respect. I don't consider it pointing at the victim. Semantics I guess. At this stage in your career, if you can't see that coming, you probably shouldn't be in the NHL. This wasn't a blindside. Kase has a history with this. He's not really an NHLer, so he gets injured. A lot. Can't make rules to save guys that probably shouldn't be here due to lack of awareness.
  22. Definitely expected Toronto to come out of the gate firing. 0-0 1st I was really happy with. Markstrom top 5 in every G category. I don't miss our goalies being 28th. I love me a blue collar team. Even more than star-studded. I think the, "this period, that period, blah" stuff is more about the other team. Every team is really good, they are going to rule segments of games. Loving our work ethic. Win or lose, needed to see it. It's been years.
  23. I liked the game plan. We were fortunate to be at zeroes after 1 but that was my hope. Toronto's a high skill team so hit them. Track Matthews all over the ice and limit his threat. I thought we might light them right up by being physical. Even if Simmonds was in, they can't match that. I'm good with the Z hit. If Kase can't see an apartment building coming then he always gets concussed. You can't make rules for guys that constantly have their head down. They shouldn't be in the league. Rather than the hit being removed, remove the player. Can't base rules on the victim's lack of awareness. This stuff follows Kase around. It's on him to end it, not the league. There are very few NHLers that get caught straight on like that. If you want that out of the game, what's next? There would be zero reason to have size if you can't use it.
  24. I'm gonna need 45 seconds alone and a greased out toilet roll..lol
