    I think Kris Russell would be an excellent back-up. He has more saves (BS) than this year's LA Kings backup; 275 to 260 Heck, in Edmonton, he might even be able to be the starter.

    Another way of looking at team age is team experience. This will take into account late bloomers (Gio, Jooris, Colborne) or older college players (Gaudreau): In terms of experience, we rank 5th lowest as opposed to 11th youngest. Our forwards have the 2nd least experience only behind Buffalo. Of course the departure of Glencross & McGrattan did depress this somewhat. New Jersey forwards have a lot of miles. Our defence ranks at 21st. Only 9 teams have more experience with Philadelphia as the game-worn defence champion. Arizona's defence has barely left the incubator. Calgary goaltending stands at the 20th least experience. Anaheim goaltenders have next to no experience while Florida is a victim of the Luongo effect (855 GP).

    Neither am I! Simple solution - City of Calgary becomes a partner based on how much is invested. Profits are reaped accordingly. Or it could become like a loan where say 10% of ALL gross revenue goes back to the city until the public funding is reimbursed.     In full agreement kehatch! At the NHL level there are no horrible goalies. If they are truly horrible there are replacements that can be had for a song & a dance. This is also why you almost never hear goaltenders being talked about in the media when it comes to the trading deadline or pre-draft. How many times have you seen a goaltender a key piece of a trade? This usually only comes about in retrospect. What I think sets apart the elite goaltenders is consistency & the ability to be difference-makers. In other words; a goaltender who "steals" games. We have seen Ramo perform this feat several times. Ortio's time will come....
