  1. Tell me something do any of you know if Khyl is coming back or is he done? I'm not sure what happened to him and not going to assume since I don't know crap at the best of times But I know 90% of you ppl do so any insight on Mr Khyl would be appreciated . He really seemed to be coming into his own at the middle of 2022 yes?

Okay, so a bit off topic, but it seems Mr. Francis is suggesting BT trades for Vladar, to become the starter for TO.  Not sure I get that logic, but it's an intriguing prospect.  We don't need any goalies from the TO stable, but would be somewhat included to take Murray to make it work.  So, I am just going to state this one based on TO's bias towards puck moving D and the inevitable retirement of Gio:

    To Toronto:

    Noah Hanifin - $4.95M x 1 year

    Dan Vladar - $2.2M x 2 years

    To Calgary:

    Willie Nylander - $6.962M x 1 year

    Jake Muzzin - $5.625M x 1 year

Muzzin is likely done.  The LTIR is insurance on the cap, and while it makes sense for Toronto to retain, they aren't getting a goalie and top 4 D for just Nylander.  IMO.

Why would we trade 2 perfectly good players for a player you think is done and a 1 yr on Nyl who would probably not resign here ?

  3. I think what I enjoy most is that the Oilers have purchase the cup a dozen times and still failed now I know Bios opinion but tell me what other theam has gotten top 4 over all picks in the last 30 yrs history due to the 6 team system I won't count them

For me I don't see any of these actions as a plan, they are reparative in nature.

The only way you get ahead of the FA/cap game on a small market team is really great drafting/development.  To this effect, I have not seen a plan, rather quite the opposite we've depleted this for short term goals.

If the goal was truly to have a cup team every year (even for me this is unrealistic), they've done the opposite of what would be needed to have any hope of that.   I don't believe you can buy a cup.  Definitely not here.  And also, we don't have the money for the number of buyouts necessary.    You can buy a playoff ticket.  Imho this is more what we've seen.

Gezz the Oilers do it all the time do you think it is a fluke they end up with the first over all almost every yr?

  5. Right now the only thing we can hope for is the top players we got back from the lose of 2 very elite players can do what they were suppose to do last yr and Marks can play up to his potential if not then we are looking at another very sad and frustrating season with the only hope that Wolf perhaps puts a smile on ppl faces if they allow him up that is the question.

  6. Phillips has done nothing but show he can play at an elite level in the A's and seems to me most players who succeed in the A's with that level will forsure succed in the NHL JMO. By the way I have faith in him I only wish most on here did

  7. I was happy to see Corontato put up some points and show he is a capable player I hope he will be another Mang at his best he was around the net alot and that is just what our team needs now that we gave away MrT. I don't think I will ever get over losing MrT all I can say is I hope Hubs and Weegs will make a dent in his lose. Back to Cor or shou8ld I say a coach who can ajust this team and allow our young kids to play the game. I know PPL will think I'm crazy but I hope we can sign Looch and a low price because he can help protect our kids and parhaps Phillips can hide under his wing.

We have a long road ahead of us with the arena up in the air and the draft at 16th we are at a cross roads. Who do we grab as a coach whould Iggy be to far fetch I know I have some crazy thoughts but I am a dreamer. They had Kipper on the cup run and we have I hope Wolf love the name I hope he bites them all and they become super natual lol. You must admit Looch did well as an old fart;)

  8. I watch a ton of those games I have an android box and to me a lot of those shots were of the dangerous type IMO not just shots from the line this team was bussing and put these teams to sham had a ton of time in there zone again perhaps rose colored glasses

  9. I hear alot about how we had problems scoring but I have seen many games where we out shot our opponents by 40 shots or better and still lost I don't believe that we coul;dn't score I believe the goalies we have couldn't shut the door> Perhaps we should have put up a goal or 2 more but how is it we put up 40 shots and can't get the goals I just can't see the scoring being the problem were the shots on goal that crappy that we couldn't put it together?

The exact number isn't even relevent.  Ther is zero risk to play him this season.  13F vs 14F on the club while we have 3 goalies.  The problem is that we have too many waiver eligible players unless we use the kids like Pelletier and Zary and Poirier.  Or we waive Stone after we sign him.  It was so stupid that we had to waive Valimaki.  There were much better options.

Ok agreed on Val but that is probably why BT has moved on I wouldn't be surprised if BT ends up with the yoytes another Risborough scenario of course just venting on that one but I am going to ask the question the mail bagged asked which of Val or marky would you trade to me it is a crazy option right now because Val didn't do to bad and Marky I think will jump back to his old forum and kill it this yr. But if not then it will be time to bring up Wwolf and let which ever goalie is sucking sit. Only because I have no Idea how Wolf will handle a long stint with the bigs although I believe he will take us to the cup another Kipper.

Simply put, he's a UFA.  The category just is due to not playing NHL games but still being a pro.

What do I think about him?  I think me and a few others said we reaaly had no idea of what he could become in the NHL because he wasn't given a shot.  IN fact the coach spoke down about him as a AHL player that has proven nothing.  Not exactly what he said, but he thought you needed to be big to succeed in the NHL.  I think he would take some time to adjust to the size of the players he faces.  He plays more in your face than Gaudreau, so he would pay the price.  Yamamoto from EDM is the same type of player, but gets injured every year as a result.  That type of player needs to work harder and dig out the puck for a guy that can score.  Has a good shot, so I think he could also score if he got free.

He may decide to re-sign because Sutter is gone and the new coach may give him a shot.  I think it would be a waste to let him walk without offering him a deal.

I totally agree I know fleury might be a little bigger and nastier but I think he would succeed in the bigs perhaps not put up 72 points but I think he would do 50 or better. Fleury was a tuff kid and I love his tenacity and loved how he would take on Mcsorley  that man had no fear I know thats not Phillips but I do believe he could put up the points I hope he doesn't walk.

  12. Can some one please explain why Sutter didn't give this kid a chance to show his stuff? He was the highest scorer on the team he has the most goals and Assists does his size really hold him back that much? He could play on our third line and do more than Pelts in MHO. Any way looking to read some opinions very curios what others fell about his future with the Franchise is he gone or do we resign him ? Also can some one explain what UFA G6 means and how does it affect his new contract if he gets an offer ?
